    Pinot Noir and Blue Lacy

We were looking for a casual and quick place to dine on a Friday night. Blue Lacy looked to be this place. That Friday, the place was empty, only 2 tables occupied. We were seated and served very quickly. Which is what we wanted. Food wise, it's really meh. I ordered a Blue Lacy cocktail, which immediately reminded me of Windex. And I guess I could not get passed that image. It didn't taste good to me. My turkey BLT was just okay. I am a fries girl, I was excited to try theirs. But the fries was underwhelming. It was really like one reviewer said, they know how to prep dishes from frozen. I supposed we got what we were looking for: casual and quick dinner.

Great Brunch place! I ordered the spinach mushroom omelette. It had the perfect ingredient amount, I was worried that there would be to much spinach but was so happy that it wasn't the case. The hubby enjoyed the pancakes as well. The service was just ok. We also enjoyed the vibe of the place!

Kids eat free, so there's that after a visit to the thinkery; otherwise, I really don't see any need to visit this place. When comparing to a Denny's or an IHOP, I would rank Blue Lacy just a grade below in terms of taste. Restaurant vibes are fine, the menu is just uninspired and the food was very average. Price was okay for the location. Would I Go Out of My Way to Try? No Would I Return? No Food Taste- 4/10 Ambiance - 7/10 Service - 6/10 Value- 6/10

Blue Lacy is part of a hotel called Origins, and though I have never stayed at the hotel, I did have breakfast here a couple of times. They have a breakfast bowl that is really great. You can get it with a few different meat options, including, of course, brisket. It has an avocado sauce, eggs, cheese, and hashbrowns. It's filling! The waffles are good too. They do a chocolate-covered strawberry espresso that is yum times ten. I haven't tried any of the breakfast cocktails, but I'm interested in trying a Bloody Mary next time.

This place was fine... The service was definitely good and they were attentive, but overall the food was just average. They also do not have a lot of variety on their menu. Easy to get in and out of though because they're not super busy when everyone else is.

Fantastic food!!!! Stopped here with kiddos for lunch and everyone was raving about the food!! The vibe is also soooo cute!!!

Coffee - cute mug but wasn't wild about what was inside.

The Good: My omelet was tasty and my hash brown crispy (the way I like them). The space was cute. The Not So Good: The coffee The Ugly: I think they were short staffed but our food didn't appear until we asked for it 45 minutes later. In fairness, they did take a percentage off our check (ergo the 3 stars).

Came from GA to visit and Stopped at this location after visiting Thinkery.. great idea. The restaurant is such a cute vibe. Restrooms look and smell great. There is even a little play area for kids while waiting on food. So we started off our orders with two bloody Mary's one with gin one with vodka, a pineapple mimosa and oj and apple juice. For entrees, we got: waffles, omelette, bacon, eggs and hasbrowns. Everything was absolutely delicious. No complaints.. the staff exhibited great customer service. And very hospitable. Would definitely recommend and return.

REVIEW FOR DOG MENU ONLY: I've been wanting to try Blue Lacy for a while, and the biggest selling point for me was their menu for dogs! I was excited to give it a shot, but after reading several reviews on multiple occasions, I could only muster ordering meals for my fur kids. Our waitress was super friendly & loved on our dogs! We ordered two dog meals (splitting one between our two small dogs and one for our husky), and they were obsessed. The meal had quinoa, rice, peas, carrots, blueberries, and chicken and devoured every last bite. Unfortunately, I was surprised to find the food cold and not fresh!! While I'm not sure how long Blue Lacy will be around, I really appreciated them taking care of our pups! More places in Austin should follow their lead--this is the only spot in Austin I found that serves food to dogs!

This place has happy hour every day. We had $7 margaritas and half off appetizers. The cauliflower bites, fries and mozzarella sticks were very good. The sliders and margs were good too. Service wasn't that great though and we sat outside so I never went inside to see the restaurant. Was great though and will come back!

I'd never heard of this place until I discovered it on a stroll around Mueller, and my friend and I decided to give it a try for our weekly Sunday brunch. They serve breakfast all day and the breakfast menu was small, and to my mind pretty run-of-the-mill. It all seemed a bit pricey to me, but I am cheap and still not fully resigned to the fact that even a basic breakfast tends to be $15 these days. I ordered a breakfast bagel. It cost a mere $12, but when my plate arrived, it felt pretty skimpy. It consisted of a plain egg bagel, an egg fried hard (which I dislike, but no one had asked), hashbrowns that were not brown (but they were cooked through and fairly tasty), some smoked Gouda, and two slices of very good bacon. But the kicker, and my friend, and I both laughed about it, was the side of fruit. it was basically a thimble of three blueberries, two small chunks of strawberry, and two very thin slices of pineapple. It seemed ridiculously tiny. My friend was happy with her Breakfast Bowl--perfectly soft-scrambled eggs, more of that good bacon, undercooked hash browns, and a little bit of avocado "crema." The service was friendly but quite slow, even though the place was the opposite of crowded. They validate parking for the nearby McBee parking garage, which was nice. Austin has so many places for brunch. Some of them have very good prices for good food. Some of them have higher prices for exquisite food. Some of them have menu items that are so unusual or so good, you just have to come back. But as my friend and I walked away from Blue Lacey, we agreed that we agreed that although it was pleasant enough, neither of us felt any desire to come back.

Lovely service, scrumptious breakfast, cute decor however they did play the same synth pop song on a loop the entire time we were there which made me feel a little crazy but was a nice experience nonetheless.

This place is so intoxicating from the aqua blue color palate and funky green art work to the alluring lighting and huge metal plate (looks like something from a ship...also their logo). The standout was the Brussel sprouts...crispy with this absolutely delicious drizzle. I ordered the Mezze plate with a flavor explosion and many desirable texture. It had lamb kabobs, fresh salad (emphasis on fresh) with thinly sliced cucumbers, finely sliced onions and creamy feta (never had creamy feta), red round sweet peppers, hummus with the most delightful pesto like sauce, and olives. First off the reservations were pretty open mid-week; I had booked for Tuesday several weeks ahead of time but then had some plans shift and was able to change my reservation to Wednesday just a couple days ahead of time with no issues. We walked in through the front as the back entrance wasn't really obvious from the parking lot (which is quite small), but that was cool as we got to walk by the deli counter and see the meat and pickled veggies etc that were for sale. Our server was great, very helpful in suggesting items, explaining the menu, and answering any questions we had. On her suggestion we started with the sauteed mushroom appetizer but also requested the black garlic butter to be added on the side (I don't think there was an up charge) and this was a great choice! The mushrooms were tender but with a nice bite and super flavorful. We also got the grilled oysters- I forgot exactly what was in the sauce it had miso and something else, but it was so rich and flavorful! I couldn't decide what was the best between the two apps they were both amazing. The husband ordered the antelope over regular fries (as he doesn't like sweet potatoes) which they were happy to accommodate. It was delicious- tender and perfectly cooked with the chive butter on top. I had never had antelope before and found it very pleasant, not very gamey but with a slightly different flavor than beef. I got the quail over grits with a creole sauce and sauteed kale- amazing! It comes with two quail that I think were spatchcocked- the only bones were in the legs and wings so you could eat it easily. The grits were creamy and the sauce with the kale and quail was delicious. I was able to finish my whole meal but was pretty stuffed at the end! Our waitress encouraged us to get a dessert but when we declined brought us out a bowl of chai ice cream to share as she said she wasn't going to let us leave on our anniversary without a treat! All in all a great experience, only complaints are that they don't serve cocktails (there are plenty of local Texas liquors to choose from!) but we did enjoy a glass of wine, and then went next door to Vic and Als after dinner for a dessert cocktail!

We started with the signature Gruyère & Black Pepper Popovers - light & rich at once, with an original and slightly sweet charred onion butter. As for the tacos, they are certainly some of the best in the entire world. The burger was worth it on so many levels. It has the classic meat, cheese, sauce, and pickles, but don't be fooled. It on its own deserves five stars. We were amazed without a doubt and would gladly return to Picnik.

To find a restaurant that is gluten free and doesn't use rancid oils to cook food in is an absolute joy. Let me just say, this was everything I've been hoping for the past 12'ish years! The hostess was nice and seated me right away. I was near the pass so I go to see all of the yummy food as it came out. I opted for the Picnik Palmer and the chicken sandwich. I was so happy to see a GF fried chicken sandwich! The bun was great.... It didn't fall apart as so many GF buns do. The smashed potatoes were tasty. The Palmer was refreshing. My server was great. He explained that it was the first day for the new menu and he may not know it all yet. No problem. The restaurant itself was bright and airy. Very chill. I'm sure I'll be back on another work trip to try all the other amazing foods!

The staff were all so professional and apologetic about running late but it was not a problem for us and they actually shared a friend of the kitchen was there before us. I respect they provide that level of hospitality to guests. We were candidly lavished upon with champaign when we sat at the kitchen table. Our server was Christina who has worked there since BS opened. She made our evening very special. And we were kind of blown away when Kevin Cannon, Chef de Cuisine brought us a beautiful dish to celebrate the evening. I'm attaching all the pictures. In my opinion this place is a bargain. This was a fabulous culinary experience and I highly suggest sitting at the kitchen view table to get the full experience of the art and hard work Chef and his team are producing from a place of love for what they do.

The tasting menu is consistently creative, thoughtful, and genuinely fun, making each visit feel like a fresh experience rather than a repeat. There are two upgrades I will never skip: the caviar dish and the uni on top of the shiitake dumplings. They are absolutely to die for and hands-down worth it every single time. The drinks are always on point, creative, delicious, eclectic, and playful, perfectly complementing the menu. Service has been phenomenal on every visit, polished yet warm, which elevates the entire experience. This is an absolute favorite of ours for a kid free date night and one we continue to come back to without hesitation.

We came here for a birthday specifically for the 100 Hour Marinated ribeye for my friend. She had been talking about it for weeks. Unfortunately, the night we came to celebrate, it was not available. She was crushed. I jokingly said "we can go somewhere else". I'm guessing the server thought I was serious because later the chef came to our table and offered her a special treat. It was very nice of them. She ended up with the Redfish special and she liked it. But it was a huge disappointment anticipating this dinner for weeks. My dinner on the other hand exceeded expectations. I had not been here for many years. I don't recall the House-made veggie burger being on the menu previously. I tried it. It was excellent. Brown rice, mushrooms, beets, jack cheese, and other goodies. The avocado basil slather was perfection. It's not easy to find a really good veggie burger these days. So many places try to make them taste like meat. This was a true old school Veggie Burger - such a treat. Our server was attentive and was really great. Drinks were good. Margarita was very tasty.

Even now as it's been Bartlett's for many years, you can still feel some of that Houston's DNA in the atmosphere and menu. The vibe lands somewhere between upscale casual and classic steakhouse. It reminded me a bit of those old-school Steak and Ale-type places. It's a step above casual dining chains like Applebee's or TGI Fridays, but I wouldn't put it in the same category as Austin's highest-end spots like Uchi. It's more of a polished, comfortable place that still feels approachable. The dining room has a warm, almost wine-cellar feel, with exposed brick and fairly low lighting. When we visited on a weeknight it was packed, so I highty recommend making a reservation. The crowd seemed to be a mix of business dinners, client meetings, and people celebrating occasions. We were there for my mom's birthday, which felt like a perfect reason to go. It's the kind of place that works well for a special dinner, a date night, or entertaining clients. Everything we ordered was excellent. The Hickory Smoked Salmon appetizer was a great start, and the French Dip and the Chimichurri Steak Sandwich were worth getting again. They also brought out a dessert for my mom's birthday that everyone at the table enjoyed. Service was friendly and professional throughout the meal.
