I let my scooter sit in the basement for more than a year, so it needed a new battery and some TLC…read moreto get it running again. Before I put the scooter away in 2011, it would easily touch speeds of 62MPH and was getting about 94MPG. I provide this as background info only, these were not milestones/goals I presented to the guys at Hingham Cycle. GOOD STUFF... They were willing to come pick up the scooter at no charge Friendly and comprehensive in their questions about the scooter's condition and what I thought needed to be done They took my thoughts into account, did their own evaluation and repaired and got my scooter running again in a short amount of time Took the time to speak to me about repairs and timeframe Personalized service is nice...owner and family are there and answer the phone MEH STUFF... It cost a bit more than I had anticipated. I had a similar tune-up done in 2010 at a scooter shop in Boston and for 2/3 the price I had the same work done EXCEPT for install of a new battery. Total cost at Hingham was $300+, the other shop was $175 or so. Unless the battery cost $125, work was a little pricey. I didn't learn that they were cash only until I was told it was ready. They may have signs around the shop, but in this day and age where an individual can accept credit cards via an iPhone, there's no reason to run a cash business. Further, if you are charging a little more than other shops, you can certainly afford the credit card fee in exchange for the convenience it gives your customers. The scoot is running well, starts up right away all the time and doesn't stall. Two items that I'm curious about - but these could be the result of sitting for a year - are the gas mileage (it's lower, but the idle speed is higher, so I can understand the change); and the top speed is lower by about 12MPH. As mentioned above, I didn't mention these goals to the shop when I brought it in, but may give them a shout and see if they can adjust either or both. **The scooter has been ridden a good number of miles and could need new rollers for the CVT. This would just be an age thing and nothing Hingham Cycle would have been able to fix without more scooter-specific parts. OVERALL... I have no complaints. I'll go back to them again for stuff I don't feel like doing myself. I will ask for a written estimate before any work happens. And I'll probably continue to use them for my inspections and oil changes. For model and brand-specific stuff, I might go to the authorized dealer for this brand of scooter. This would include upgrading the rollers and internal CVT stuff.

Decided to take a look at a few motorcycles today. I went to Mom's Motorcycles on Broadway Revere…read more I was pleasantly surprised I spoke with the general manager Dennis who volunteered lots and lots of important information and specs that I was interested in finding out about. He graciously let me sit on a few of the different models and we spoke about the couple bikes I have in the garage as possible trade ins. He even gave me a guesstimate on what they would be worth. He actually offered me discounts from the factory without me even inquiring which I found refreshing and then after he told me about the discounts from the factory it was also an incentive of 2000 extra dollars for parts and accessories so a total of $3000 discount which is pretty fabulous when the sticker is $18,499. He was extremely patient answered all my questions showed me some of the accessories that were available on the program and even interchangeable wheels tires and seats. If I choose to purchase an Indian motorcycle I will definitely have Dennis help me with that now the question is do I trade in my Harley Davidson for an Indian??? I'll have to give it some thought and a little bit more research maybe take a test drive but I would definitely suggest anyone looking for an Indian motorcycle a Polaris or a victory to head on over to Mom's on Broadway Revere see Dennis tell him Dave Romanow sent you.

Looking to buy a new Indian Motorcycle. Called the sales department to get more information about…read morethe model I was interested in and discussed price etc. Visited the dealership, price didn't change, no pressure to buy, very low key. Bought the model I wanted in the color I wanted, Great buying experience. The pictures of the dealership on Yelp are not current. The building is new, modern and updated. They sell Victory motorcycles, Polaris products and used motorcycles as well.
