The service technician was professional, friendly, and very efficient. He clearly explained the problem and had everything working again quickly. Excellent customer service from start to finish. I highly recommend Airserv for prompt, reliable service. Planning to use them to replace our older unit.

What began as a routine inspection ultimately became a very troubling experience that caused us to lose confidence in the company. An Aire Serv technician, Zack, came to our home to perform the inspection. Following his evaluation, we were informed that the compressor in our outside air-conditioning unit was failing and needed to be replaced. This finding immediately concerned us because our home--and the original builder-installed HVAC system--is only approximately three and a half years old. Following the inspection, Steve H., an Aire Serv Home Comfort Designer, visited our home to discuss our options. Steve explained that replacing the compressor would cost approximately $2,000. He also presented us with the option of replacing substantially more of the HVAC system, including the outside unit and the coil assembly within the basement air-handler unit, for approximately $7,700. Given the relatively young age of our HVAC system and the significant expense involved, my wife and I told Steve that we were not prepared to make an immediate decision and intended to obtain two additional professional opinions and estimates. We subsequently contacted two separate HVAC companies located in the Middletown, Delaware area. Technicians from both companies independently came to our home and inspected and tested our HVAC equipment. The conclusions of these two independent technicians were dramatically different from what we had been told by Aire Serv. Both technicians advised us that our HVAC system was operating properly and that the compressor was not failing and did not need to be replaced. One of the technicians went even further, advising us that based on his evaluation of the system, he would not add or remove any refrigerant because he saw no reason to alter the system as it was currently operating. Needless to say, my wife and I were shocked and extremely upset. We had gone from being told by Aire Serv that our compressor was failing and faced with repair or replacement options ranging from approximately $2,000 to $7,700, to receiving two separate professional evaluations indicating that the system was operating properly and that the compressor did not require replacement. I immediately contacted Steve H. and explained what my wife and I had been told by the technicians from the two independent HVAC companies. Steve advised me that he needed to make several calls and would get back to us. Approximately 30 minutes later, he called and informed us that, given the circumstances, he needed to refer the matter to management. During that conversation, I informed Steve that, based on everything that had transpired, my wife and I had lost confidence and trust in Aire Serv and would not be moving forward with the company for any HVAC repairs, replacement, or other services. Our primary concern is straightforward: How could Aire Serv determine that a major component in a three-and-a-half-year-old HVAC system was failing and recommend repairs or replacement costing between approximately $2,000 and $7,700, while two independent HVAC technicians subsequently inspected and tested the same equipment and concluded that the system was operating properly and that the compressor did not need to be replaced? That discrepancy is significant and deserves a clear explanation. Had we simply accepted Aire Serv's initial assessment without seeking independent professional opinions, we could potentially have spent thousands of dollars replacing HVAC equipment that, according to two other technicians, did not require replacement. We believe Aire Serv management should thoroughly review the original inspection, including the diagnostic procedures and measurements used to conclude that our compressor was failing. We would also like an explanation of the technical basis for that diagnosis and why it differs so substantially from the findings of two independent HVAC professionals. Regardless of the explanation, this experience has seriously undermined our confidence in Aire Serv. When homeowners invite an HVAC professional into their home, particularly for an inspection, they must be able to trust that recommendations involving thousands of dollars in repairs or replacement are supported by accurate, objective, and verifiable diagnostic findings. Unfortunately, based on our experience, that trust has been lost.

A previous plumber wasted hours and failed completely, and another big franchise tried to price-gouge me with a vague, ridiculous estimate. From the start, this company provided a very fair and transparent upfront flat-rate price. The technician arrived exactly on time and assessed the situation professionally. The job turned out to be incredibly brutal, requiring a massive 150-foot heavy-duty snake and an extra helper. The team was completely transparent about the extra resources needed and provided a very reasonable adjusted rate for the additional manpower and equipment before proceeding. What blew me away was their incredible work ethic. Because the blockage was so stubborn, the job went significantly overtime. Yet, they completely honored our upfront agreement and didn't charge a single penny extra for the overtime hours. They worked tirelessly and with a great attitude until the drain was perfectly cleared. This company has earned a customer for life!

The other leak and replacement of 3-5 valves were not fixed since he needed to order parts. Three weeks later, we call Chris on his cell, he doesn't remember the job. I call the office, they will look into it and call me by end of day. Still no word by the end of the WEEK. I call again, they can't find the parts that are required. My husband found the parts on Build.com within minutes, ordered and fixed the bathroom sink himself. We are looking for another plumber to do the valve work. I would not recommend - totally unprofessional service and they are crooks to charge what they do and then don't return to finish the job. BEWARE!!
