It has been a while *years since I dined at Quinn's Lighthouse. Best Advice and Recommendation: Deck view dining, the view of the Oakland marina overlooking Coast guard island and it did not disappoint. The slight breeze from the water created a cool ambiance during our dinner.  PLEASE NOTE: Be patient with your Server. The restaurants are recovering from the Covid19 and coming out of mandatory closures. If your menus, drinks, foods, desserts take longer than normal, know that they are probably short staff- not fully staff yet.  Our drinks: Mimosa, glass of Beringer Zinfandel and 21st Amendment Ale. A great way to start our Thursday Happy Hour. We ordered from the appetizer section of their menu. 2 plates of the Monterey Deep Fried Calamari- coated in a super crispy, crunchy shell, dipped in a little marinara or aioli. Can't go wrong with deep fried deliciousness. Second plate of appetizer choice was Quinn's Nacho Chip Platter with chicken. It looked delicious but the cheese had set in too long and it hardened by the time it arrived at our table. The chicken came in big chunks-that we had to cut them in smaller pieces and spread them all over the nachos. The toppings were not evenly spread between the layers of chips, it was primarily on top. The chicken chunks were a bit overcooked. We finished off with desserts: chocolate cake a la mode and creme brulee. The chocolate cake was rich, very sweet but it was on the dry side. The creme brulee was ordered by my coworker and she said that it was delicious.  As we were leaving, we heard at the table that it was still Happy Hour, why were not offered the Happy Hour menu?. We did see on the website there was a Happy Hour Pub Menu. Are they offered only if we were inside and not available for the outside diners? On oldie but a goodie. We had an impromptu get-together at Quinn's Lighthouse. The food, I highly recommend the seafood, was fresh and tasty. The fried calamari was crisp and greaseless. The fish and chips were generous and fresh. Everyone loved their drinks, kudos to the bartender. The water person was always refilling our glasses. Our server was honest and said, just pick two or three choices and I will steer you towards the right one. He was on-point; for all 12 of us that were there. The bread was delicious and served right after we ordered. The mussels were fresh and perfectly cooked. He recommended the Dinky Doo Seafood Stew. The bread was broiled and crisp which helps soak up the tomato broth. It was seasoned well and the scallops, shrimps, fish, and mussels were all fresh and tender. Not an overcooked prawn or scallop. I did not try the fried raviolis but everyone else seemed to enjoy them. Patience is needed as they are still having staffing issues but with lotsof friends, time passed quickly. I haven't been to Quinns Lighthouse in a while though it is a local fixture. It has the nicest waterfront patio where you can enjoy a nice meal and watch the boats. I recently visited Quinns and discovered a "new to me" management. I must say the food was a delicious Asian Fusion fair, the taps where well curated, and the staff were very very nice. Often local fixtures are still visited because the views are great even if the overall may seem tired. Quinn's Lighthouse got a new lease on life and I look forward to going back soon! read more

We always enjoy coming to Quinn's. My husband is working his way around the menu. So far, the Pasta Balboa is his favorite. He likes their Jambalaya, too. Our son didn't care for the Fresh Clam Pasta. He said the sauce was thin and bland. 4 stars because the service and the food portions aren't consistent. Just over the Park Street Bridge from Alameda is a hidden gem seafood restaurant. There are not too many seafood restaurants that are on the water anymore. Alameda has Pier29 and Pasta Pelican. Stay far away from there unless you just want a cocktail. The ambiance walking up to Quinn's Lighthouse is that of no other. There are cute little cottages walking up with statues and ocean bell bouy's. You can sit down on one of the few benches and smell the salt air and relax. Inside upon walking in, you get the feeling you stepped back in time with the knotty pine walls and the nautical wall art. Where are the pirates? Arrrrrggg. haha. It was a nice day so we asked for a table outside. Seagulls yelping ,views of the water and boats on the docks. So peaceful! Servers were courteous and attentive. The food was excellent! We had a calamari appetizer. A+ (crispy lightly floured & seasoned!) The roast beef sandwich with aju was outstanding! Loaded with roast beef and very thick. This place has changed hands over the last few years and I am sad to see what it has become. They stopped the sea songs happening up stairs on Thursday so I have lost my reason to come weekly. Came back here for a business lunch. A great setting. Service was really good. The clam chowder however, is super thick I think a lot of flour almost like a paste. There wasn't enough clams so hardly any clam flavor. I would not order this again. The fish and chips is a large order. Mostly french fries. The coleslaw is outstanding. A nice slightly sweet and tangy dressing. the fish pieces are also large. The batter was not starchy which was a plus. It was crunchy but the fish a little dry. My Partner and I spent Thanksgiving evening here enjoying a bucket of clams and mussels along with some drinks. It was awesome. Huge props to Quinn's for being open for peeps not celebrating the holiday in the traditional sense, either by choice or circumstance. I had been here once before with a girlfriend, but it was my Partner's first time, and he was peeved that I had been holding out on him, haha. This was our first place to eat in Oaksnd and it didn't disappoint. It was walking distance from our hotel which was very convenient. The weather was beautiful so we ate outside and the views were beautiful. We were right across from a harbor with tons of boats. Our server, Luis was very helpful and very friendly throughout our dining experience. I kept it simple with a burger and fries which were good. Rarely have I been to a restaurant where this menu item is messed up, LOL. They had much more seafood options and I dont eat seafood. My friend was in seafood heaven and took forever trying to decide what to eat. She eventually decided on a seafood platter of shrimp, squid, wings etc.. She couldnt eat it all and took a to go bag. Revisited this site after not since Covid. Found out it's under new ownership and it has a Vietnamese flare. We had a great server named Dat (guy) who was very responsive. I haven't been to Quinn's for like too many years; Fridays after work to have drinks and peanuts. I heard the place had reopened with new owners so a friend and I went. We shared a beef and lemongrass Vietnamese sandwich. The bread was so soft and yummy. I did miss a kick not finding a jalapeno pepper. Another dish was pork chops, rice with a green vegetable salad which was tasty as well. I'll go back. The restaurant seemed the same as I used to visit. The upstairs pub also seems the same and they said they are renovating the deck Parking is across the street. Don't turn into the driveway towards the restaurant unless you see a spot right away. read more

Great view (meh food). I came here with my family and the service was very casual, telling us to sit wherever you want. We didn't get our menus for at least 10 minutes. Our server gave us our drinks and kinda left, which then another server had to attend us. The food was decent and nothing to complain about, but restaurant gives me weird vibes. The restaurant closes the first floor and only opens the second for dinner. The location is alright but I wouldn't suggest leaving anything in your car. Food portions were actually huge. I wanted fish and chips as an entree, but the picture looked like a little fish. The sweet waiter said "I get full just eating one fish". I thought she meant as in she has a small appetite.. boy was i wrong.. IT WAS HUGE I was fighting a battle of finishing it. It was so crispy and juicy. The cooks really know what they're doing. We went there on Sunday around 3:30 pm, the restaurant didn't look busy but I guess they were since they sat us and made us wait 20 minutes to ask for drinks, my Husband ordered two different kind of beers but they didn't have it ( we understand there's some shortage and some products are hard to find ), and the issue wasn't with their inventory but the waitress whom wasn't friendly or giving him options, she wasn't serving us at all just taking the order, she left and after 25 minutes waiting they didn't even brought us water or the beer we ordered or took our food order, I called other waitress that was passing by, who gave us an attitude when we politely asked her what happened with our beers, we waited another 10 minutes and decided to leave, we were not served, we were annoyed, hungry and we knew our evening would start going down hill from here. There's no costumer service or management at this place, It looks abandoned , I understand that sometimes it's hard to keep an smiley face when you have worked long hours and are short staffed, but leaving costumers waiting it's unacceptable, someone needs to come and check what's going on with the business there's no love or someone that actually cares in here anymore, we used to enjoy this place before the pandemic, but we left very disappointed today. A recent trip to the area, and our hotel was within walking distance we decided to stop in for dinner. This place has been on the Oakland landscape for a century plus. Old and rustic, and aged by the elements over time. Attentive professional service, the greeter was prompt and seated us upon walking in, we opted to sit by a window on the waterfront side. Our server was very cordial and friendly, as were all of the staff we encountered. The Calamari appetizer was fresh, crispy crunchy and super tasty piled high on the platter with four dipping sauces, it is obviously enough to split between several people. Unfortunately that was the high point of the meal. My wife ordered the Prawn scampi with roasted potatoes, tomatoes and mushrooms and a side of squash and broccoli. She said it was okay. I went of the fish of the day; Swordfish with a stuffed ravioli and asparagus, a sweet sauce with grilled peas and corn, with cherry tomatoes, fish was way over cooked on one end and tender almost under cooked on the other? How you to that with anything other than frozen fish is beyond me. It was a let down. Really nice selection of brews on tap, a martini and cocktails menu, two pages of call spirits, and wines by the glass and bottle. Pretty much a cold libation for every adult palette. A decent dessert menu with several options, we opted for the bread pudding to go. It was again okay, nothing great. This is not 5 Star dining. My fish of the day was below average with my wife thinking her entree was just okay, my sampling of the prawn was way over cooked, hard and chewy. Fun casual atmosphere, great view on the water and cool friendly staff, a solid bar with just average food, it's a touristy kind of crowd and fits its niche so to speak. 2.5 Stars - rounded up being right on the water and the great staff, the kitchen needs help. This was our first time here at Quinn's. This is certainly a diamond in the rough. Great food and service. David greeted us and was our waiter for the evening. I had the salmon stuffed with crab and shrimp. Delicious . Our water glasses were filled before they emptied. Cudos to the water boy. . The fried calamari was dry, the mussels were disgusting (bad quality mussels and the sauce was just dirty saltwater, clam chowder was just a bowl of flour+water, and the burger was not good, especially that piece of pickle. We love this restaurant and especially the bar!! Shout out to Sammy who makes the best Cadillac Margaritas ever. They have really good food and service is always amazing. I have to have the clam chowder every time but I especially like the seafood platter and their burgers are really good too. Parking is pretty convenient just a few steps away at the curb. Love love love this place. I've been coming here since an adolescent. We had a lunch meeting and happy to have chosen this place. The weather was perfect and we were able to dine outside on the upper level deck that over looks the boating docks. We even caught a few ducks playing in the water. The food was great. I ordered the pasta Balboa and substituted the noodles for fetteccini noodles as I read another Yelper had done. Glad I made that decision. I was so full I had to take the rest home. Very flavorful! This is a great spot!!! You've got sit down dining on the lower level and the bar upstairs with the peanut shell floor. Food is good quality and not to expensive, the view is amazing overlooking the Alameda/Oakland bay. If you're in the area I definitely recommend stopping by for a visit. read more

FYI They are checking for your vax card to eat OUTSIDE. I am vaxed however I refuse to do business with anybody that requires proof of vax.
