Randomly found this Quinn's Lighthouse as if it were fate. I love this place. The service is always very attentive and pleasant. The open face crab sandwich was pure heaven. I also recommend the beef dip sandwich. Oooh or the crab cakes. Their food is good. They have a nice view of the marina and overall their setting is serene. I've had lunch and dinner at this place & plan to go back .. this landmark is a waterfront joy :) Laid back enough to feel comfortable and clean and fancy enough for anyone who prefers nicer dinning. read more

I had lunch here today with an old friend. It was a perfect day to spend out in the marina enjoying great food. The place is really nice and service is A1. Now the food, I'm on a bit of a diet so I only ordered the Spinach Salad with Chicken.......it was awesome. My friend order a Jambalaya dish and it also looked awesome. I saw some of the other dishes they offered and experienced some of the aromas coming from the other tables.......now I can't wait to come back with the GF. read more

Been here several times...Love the calamari appetizer, I usually go on Mondays or Tuesdays though when it is less busy and I usually ask for a table under the female waitress, I think her name is Esther...she always takes good care of us and is super friendly...four stars for the food and five stars for the service! read more

I was really happy with the food and service at Quinn's Lighthouse when I came here for the first time five years ago, but each dining experience after had been downhill. The straw that broke the camel's back was brunch on Mother's Day. Granted, I understand restaurants are busy on holidays, so I need to cut them some slack. But Mother's Day brunch was bad. My salmon omelet was TERRIBLE! It came out lukewarm and whatever cheese and crap they put in the omelet was mushy and tasteless. We had 10 people at our party. When we asked for bread, the waitress came back with 4 slim pieces of bread, no butter, for 10 people! When I asked for more bread for everyone at the table, she was sooooo put out! Service was bad. This review is for service only. Hubby and I went last night without a reservation (didn't think we needed one!) and saw there was a line waiting. The host seemed a little overwhelmed but okay..the people in front of us were seated and we were saked how many of us and he tells us there is no room in the restaurant we could go look upstairs and see if there were any tables available..umm..isn't that his job?...hubby and I went and saw it was packed and came back down and decided to leave. Rib eye steak that is half the size of an "honest" restaurant pub bar...it says Mondays all pints $3 okay they are misleading the customers because they do not say that is from 6 to 9 pm. I want to like this place more. But it was just okay. We sat downstairs and it started off promising as the service was great. Ordered the clam chowder to start and it was okay. Very sweet which turned me off. I ordered Raul's salad because it seemed light and it was just alright. Sounded great on paper but didn't really do anything in my mouth. The jambalaya was weak. Not much of the good stuff (prawns, chicken, ham, sausage) but plenty of rice. Sauce was very mild. Again, the service is what saved this place. They overheard us talking about the Warriors game which we were attending, and when we left, they gave us bags of peanuts to go. Sweet gesture even though you can't bring food into the arena. My colleague and I ate here twice over 2 days that I stayed on the Oakland waterfront, and it was perfect. Peanut shells you can just toss on the floor, great decor, great food, and stellar booze. Plus the shirts are so funny that you have to buy one. read more

Total mixed reviews on Yelp but I can give a 5 Star without second guessing it! Went on Friday night right after work. Our server Andrea was AWESOME! Totally attentive, gave us good advice on what to order and seemed to have all her other tables under control. Which might be hard due to how the table setup is outside in the bar area. I ordered the Fried Chicken plate with a side of garlic bread and McDreamy (aka my bf) ordered Chicken Tuscany plate. The Tuscany plate was a little confused since it had Spanish rice as a side but regardless it was till good. I am not a big fan of peanut shells on the floor thing but I would still recommend this place to others to check out. read more

Awesome meal at Quinn's Lighthouse! Service was a little slow but it was a Friday night & packed house! The food was awesome, good selection of beers on draft. We opted to sit upstairs where things are more casual & lively! Open seating, lots of people sharing tables. Basket of peanuts ready on the table. DO NOT PARK HERE!!! My colleagues and I had an team dinner there last week. Two of our cars (along with 2-3 other cars) were broken into on the same block as the restaurant!!! Laptops and personal items STOLEN!!! Thieves were probably watching people and scoping out the cars. It's hard to believe that no one heard or saw anything when multiple car windows were smashed & I'm sure car alarms went crazy too. Restaurant was not helpful. The food and drinks were fine. Portions were big. Service was a hit or miss. Also, womens' restroom only had one toilet. read more

I have been here many times and have enjoyed the casual atmosphere with the food being ok. This time for lunch....horrible....had my well-behaved grandson with me and we order the child's menu of chicken tenders with french fries....the adult size plate arrived with a chicken breast that looked like it had been fried, and re-fried...crusty and black on the outside and COMPLETELY dried up on the inside, big serving of coleslaw, which didn't seem at all appropriate for a child and the french fries (adult serving size). He ate the fries. The adults had a sandwich meal, club and a tuna melt, which both were less than par. The chowder was salty and thick from too much corn starch and the sweet potato fries were hard and dry. Have lived here many years and am sorry to write this review, but cannot eat at Quinns ever again. read more

With a beautiful day on hand - all I wanted to do was sit in the sun - preferably on a patio with a view and have a few cocktails!! Quinn's definitely fulfilled that yesterday! We started off with a yummy mojito followed by a sampler appetizer plate. Although I could have done without the eggrolls and chicken wings (which I didn't find tasty at all - the batter was crisp, but flavorless) - the clamstrips, poppers and calamari were all delicious! The first come, first serve for a table was a bit frustrating but once my companion ordered our drinks, he asked the waiter to keep an eye out for a table outside. The waiter obliged and in about 5 minutes we were sitting outside on the patio on a table with an awesome view! Although the service was a little slow however, our waiter was very attentive. Two and a half mojitos later - the bill came and it was surprisingly not that expensive. I'll definitely come back here on a sunny day to enjoy some nibbles and yummy cocktails. read more

I loved the atmosphere, two friends and I sat outside on a lovely sunny day overlooking the estuary. The food sucked though! I was not impresed with the mojito I ordered either. I got a turkey panini, the lunch meat was so bad I didn't even eat it. Can you say pressed lunchon meat. One friend got a cod burger, and the fish looked good, she said it was ok. The other friend got a combo plate with ribs, steak and fried prawns. She said the steak was tough. I think the best food item had to be the fries. I suggest going for drinks and the peanuts are fun, throw the shells on the floor! read more

Nothing special. It was Father's Day, and several people in my family were getting together at the restaurant. It was not particularly crowded, although it was busy. The service was awful. Our waitress was a middle-aged Caucasian woman who seemed to not be able to care less about serving us. There were about 8 of us, so we didn't all arrive at the same time. She seemed irritated that people were "trickling" in to the table, because it meant she's have to bring more water, menus, etc. We had told her how many people were eventually coming. The last person to arrive is a bit physically disabled, so she needs a little more room. The waitress seemed annoyed that we slightly changed the table arrangement, even though we were mindful of the other people in the restaurant. The food wasn't bad. We ordered some salad and calamari to start off with, and those were both tasty. I ordered fish and chips. It was nice and hot, but the taste was a little oily and bland. I had to use extra vinegar and sauce to dress it up. My husband ordered some chicken, which I had a bite of and it tasted good. I only ended up eating about 1/3 of my entree because I had the appetizers. I asked the waitress to wrap it up for me, along with the calamari that was still left. First she takes my main dish, and asks me if I want to take the coleslaw home as well. Um, yeah, why wouldn't I want it if I asked her to wrap it all up for me? Then she asks me if I want the sauce that came with the fish. I said yes. Then she takes the calamari plate (which was probably about half-eaten) and asks if I want to take home the sauces for that. I say yes. Then she asks if I want to take home both of the sauces (the dish came with two sauces-one tarter sauce type and one cocktail type). Um, didn't I just say yes? She seemed annoyed she was going to have to prepare all the sauces in a container. The view is nice and the general atmosphere of the restaurant is cozy. The food is not bad, although it's nothing special for the price. Entrees range from about $15-20. But the service is awful, and that left an overall negative impression of the place. We may go back to check out the second floor but do not plan on going back to the downstairs area. read more

Been coming here for a long time, but today's late lunch was THE best ever! Fish & chips: crazy big portion of the hottest, most delightfully panko-breaded fish that melted in my mouth, perfect fries, and a lightly dressed simple slaw ... DIVINE!!! Washed down with a lovely chilled Toasted Head Chardonnay, plus bites off my partner's open-faced salmon sandwich with yummy potato salad. A home run, from start to finish, and the window seat with sun on the water didn't hurt, either! read more

Was driving to the navy army surplus store and passed by Quinn's lighthouse which was right on the slough and decide to check it out. It was a sunny breezy day out and sat on the second floor outside with a great view. I had a old speckled hen ale, half bucket of mussels and clams and the seafood ravioli. The bucket was great, smothered in butter garlic and very delicious with went great with the ale. The seafood ravioli had shrimp and lobster and scallops and when you bite into the scallops they just made your mouth and insides so warm. I recommend this place read more

First time here, still exploring Alameda. Wife and I stopped in on Monday. Place was quiet service was very friendly and very proactive. The seafood ravioli's were very good and the garlic bread was excellent. I had the jambalaya and while it was good; jambalaya is difficult to present well. It was a very large volume of food. Menu was a little on the expensive side but the food is good. Bottom line, we will go back. read more

Saturday, I was at Quinn Lighthouse celebrating Mother's Day a little early with my family over lunch. It was a total of seven of us. Although, many of us have eaten and celebrated anniversaries at Quinn's, I felt the service that day was horrible! I/we were extremely disappointed about the service, the facility and the food. 1. I ordered a Bourbon Sour and the drink was too sweet-tasted like a Bourbon Margarita. I mentioned it to the waiter and he told me he was going to make me another one. By chance, I decided to change the type of Bourbon to Bullet but when I walked over to the waiter I found that he was pouring the old drink into a new glass. He also looked like he got caught in doing something wrong. I couldn't believe that I was seeing him pour my same drink into another glass as though that was going to fix the mixture. To be honest, I can't believe the form of dishonesty and deceitfulness to their customers. Not only it displays poor form, it seems that this goes against the "standard operating procedures for Bartenders." 2. We couldn't get the waiter to stay long enough to complete an order in its entireness. He had a tendency of walking away while we were still talking and he addressed another table. We sat in the main eating room and maybe there were two/three others tables in the eating area. I'm not sure what that that was all about, but the waiter was extremely rude (an older gentleman)! 3. We experienced a heavy amount of flies inside the eating area, so we were constantly fanning our appetizers and food to make sure the flies didn't containment our food. 4. My niece ordered regular lemonade but the waiter bought her pink lemonade. If he waited long enough to take our lunch order in full, I'm sure he would have received that order correctly. Since he never came back to us to ask us how we were doing, we were unable to make the correction with him. 5. Also, the food was extremely bland. This is quite different from our previous experiences. Matter of fact, I have mentioned to others in the past that we thought the service, food and facility has always been there- BUT not this past Saturday. IT WAS ALL DREADFUL! 6. Also, the bathroom was NASTY. The toilet was not working and it was too nasty to use. In spite of all what we experienced, I still paid the $32 in cash tip but not because YOU deserve it but because I felt obligated even though we experienced HORRIBLE SERVICE and the fact we had 7 people. THIS will never happen again at that establishment. I' can't say that I would visit this place again but I can say I'm inspired to NOT TOO. read more
