Absolutely Delicious!!! Quiote is a hidden gem located on Kentucky street, downtown Petaluma. The staff was extremely inviting and quickly accommodated our large party of 10+ people. They delivered all our food at once and trust me when I say the food disappeared in a blink of an eye. Everything looked and tasted phenomenal. I ordered two tacos, a Barbacoa and a Cochinita Pibil. The pork was seasoned to perfection with the perfect amount of spice but also some freshness with the pickled onions and can't forget to mention the tortillas were hands down the best handmade tortillas I have ever tasted. First of all how dare they have impeccable food near a bar, came to have a drink with some friends we saw this new spot. Walked in was greeted with smiling faces and warm welcomes, told myself I was only gonna have a taco which turned to 3 Then a tostada de lomo after that to Enchiladas. Came on a Friday night. Service was fast and the little watermelon appetizer in the beginning is a nice alternative to chips, especially on hot days. Super tasty tacos (I had the barbacoa, cochinita pibil, and carne asada) and found them very filling -- my favorite was the barbacoa (fell apart in my mouth and very well seasoned). It's a cute spot and I can't recommend it highly enough. The one drawback would be the tacos are a little pricy, but it makes sense for downtown Petaluma. read more

I was invited to Quiote for lunch, my first time at this restaurant. I had the best enchiladas of my life here together with superb chips and guacamole. First time in and this place is terrific! It's not your average Mexican food - it's Jalisco inspired. The best mole enchilada I've had in my life, brilliant tacos, and other items. Wish i could have tried everything. A spicy watermelon cube starter - whaaat? - it works super well. crispy tortilla chips with an avocado salsa not the usual - great. Super friendly people who are rightly proud of their what they've produced as evidenced by being very busy mid-week. Add to that very decent prices. I'm a fan. Im from Guadalajara and was expecting the torta ahogada to be authentic, but this was nothing like a Torta ahogada at all. A real Torta ahogadas" comes with pork carnitas, not pork loin! The bread was grilled, a big no, no! And of course it wasn't sourdough. I liked the sauce, but that's it. It might be ok for someone who's never had a torta ahogada. Relatively small curated menu that was delicious and well priced. Incredible short rib taco on blue corn tortilla as well as a fantastic mushroom taco which was perfectly spiced. And, oh my, the rancho gordo pinto beans and arroz verde were out of this world! Service was sweet and personal which added to the wonderful experience. Support this new wonderful eatery.
