My poor review will unfortunately not put Quirk out of business or get the service manager fired, but I am writing this for the employees that witnessed the interaction this morning between me and your manager. He lied to me and he lied to you. He claimed you were all witnesses to a phone call that he had with my husband this morning. That is not possible unless you heard my husband's side of the conversation when he said "as long as the key fob works we're good to go!" You shouldn't let yourself get sucked in as accomplices to bad business. You deserve better than that. As for the manager, he is a slippery worm who will probably always be a slippery worm. Everyone should stay as far away from him as possible. By the way, the door issue is a known issue of that door and Moody's said you were supposed to fix it. However, I will go to Wiscasset for that. The service department is not inline with customer service or control of their service crew with PRIORITY ISSUES. I would choose a different dealership for this Factory part failure to have this problem resolved. No loaner vehicle was offered for their tardiness of the repair time taken. A 10 hr quote is exceeding more than 16 hrs now with still no promise it will be finished by the end of a Friday. Some people need to work on MONDAY. Even after dropping off the vehicle the DAY BEFORE the repair was to begin. Seriously lacking the proper approach to the job. This service department has no idea how to schedule repairs. read more

I had work done supposedly but now know for fact my oil was not changed but it was on my bill that it was done. Im now going to take my receipt to another garage an have them go throw my car because the billed my warranty and service plans for things that I don't believe ever were done. Went in for brake repair and inspection, left with a flat tire and severe transmission fluid leak, they took no responsibility for the damage THEY caused. After being juggled around between four different people trying to explain my concerns over multiple days. I ended talking with the less than delightful, service manager who not only tried to gaslight me into thinking the issues where preexisting he proceeded to tell me my issues where a cop out and screamed over me and would not listen to anything I had to say. They have zero customer service, zero accountability, and apparently zero knowledge of cars if you leave with worse issues then you went in with. I wish I would have read the reviews before going here since it seems this unpleasant service manager has done this to countless others. Think it's time for this man to find another job. Absolutely terrible service, "fixed" the initial problem but another problem accorded afterwards.. that they wouldn't cover the cost of (of course) & aren't going to fix. Completely untrustworthy. On top of that it's a very expensive place to get serviced. They left me stranded with a car that was unsafe to drive knowing I live an hour away. They closed and left me crying in my car.. When you pay 3k for an electric motor and they don't check the battery (that the motor runs off of or test drive the car afterwards) and they make you buy a new battery and have you put it in...what a joke. I have used the Augusta Dealership a few times now for oil changes on my 2021 F250. They have been great with the oil changes. Service Advisors Ken and Walt were easy and nice to talk to. On my last oil change visit, I had an issue with my wind shield wipers. I asked them to investigate and fix them. They needed a part and assured me it would be in the next day and only take an hour. The next day, I waited for the call until I called them at noon. They had to make calls and find the part. I had to reschedule the appointment for a few weeks later. On the 3rd visit in less than a month, I asked to talk to the service manager, James Lafountian. Mr. Lafountian didn't want to take the time out of his busy day and meet a consumer. Mr. Lafountian showed zero respect and could care less about people. I have spent just under $1000 this MONTH and just wanted a few minutes of his time. Mr. Lafountian came to the waiting area and wouldn't see me in his office. Mr. Lafountian was rude, hostile, disrespectful, and angry that I even asked to see him. Mr. Lafountian said he didn't want to talk about my experience or even get to know me and my situation. I would like to say Ken and Walt have always made me feel welcome and have been very helpful. Looking through the reviews, I am not the 1st to have a negative interaction with Mr. Lafountian. At a quick glance, I have found at least 3 negative reviews about Mr. Lafountian. From your own website you say "Customer satisfaction is our top priority, and we show this on the sales floor and in our service department.". Mr. Lafountian failed to meet that standard today. Also, from your website, "Work hard to ensure customer satisfaction at every opportunity...". Mr. Lafountian failed to read that as well. Routine 15,000 mile checkup on my car purchased in February 2019 from Quirk in Bangor totaled $513. Absolutely nothing was wrong with it. They just sat me in a waiting room for 2 hours listening to political nonsense on Fox News and subsequently overcharged me for all of the maintenance. I don't live near Bangor and couldn't get time off work to drive there. So I scheduled with Quirk Augusta. It's the same owner, should get all of my maintenance done for free, right? No. NONE of my maintenance services are free at ANY Quirk dealership, as expressed in no uncertain terms to me AFTER everything was done, even though I bought a $32,000 car from them last year and paid extra for all of the bumper-to-bumper warranties and coverage. I don't have this in writing, but I definitely remember being told that these services would be free when I was buying the car to get me to do business with the Bangor branch. My bill was so high because this Augusta branch charged double for some services. The itemized bill reflects a charge of $39.95 for draining the oil and then another $39.95 charge for filling the oil. $80 for a service that Charlie's Subaru of Augusta did for me for free, and Walmart does for $30. Additionally, I asked them to install wind deflectors, as they would have to remove insulation to do so and figured it wouldn't void warranty if they did it themselves. Not sure if they correctly installed the window insulation, but I've already had issues with condensation on the inside of my windshield. Called my Quirk Bangor sales rep and explained my expectations and concerns over the crazy bill to him. He had the Quirk Augusta service associate call me. She was rude and straightforward about not giving me any credit whatsoever for anything. Expressed my dissatisfaction with the Quirk Bangor rep over this, and he had another person in Quirk Bangor call me. He said that Charlie's wouldn't do a free oil change or fluid top-ups, but I already had them do it for free? Asked if me installing the wind deflectors myself would've voided the warranty--a yes or no question--and received both a yes AND no as an answer. He said, "no if there's no problems, but yes if anything was damaged." So that's a YES, DUH. Apparently Charlie's wouldn't have voided the warranty if they installed them either way? But he agreed to write me a check for the replacement wipers, which Charlie's would've given me for free. $50 back, but they didn't deduct the service tech fee for changing them. Doesn't make sense that the actual company I bought a car from, regardless of whatever manufacturer they primarily feature, would not offer services that a company whom I DIDN'T buy the car from would. I guess car brand means more than who owns the actual company these days? I owned my last Subaru for 15 years, and the company I bought it from serviced it for free for 7 of them. Quirk has never called me in my 20 months of Quirk car ownership. Charlie's, on the other hand, calls me and texts me regularly for routine maintenance. This only cements the fact that I'll only go to Charlie's Subaru from now on. Maybe the service at Quirk Ford is better for you Ford owners and somehow I'm in the wrong for thinking that the company you buy a car from means more than the make of your car. But Quirk does not seem to care about people after they make the purchase. Keep an eye on your bill. read more

I called up and asked if a truck was available and they said it was so on my way down I called again to make sure it was still there and they said it was. When I showed up they said it was sold. Than I told them I already called twice to make sure it was available. And I got a "how are we supposed to know it was sold " so they waisted a 2 hour drive and they were rude and tried to justify how they didn't know it was sold. Don't waist your time. read more

We have continually gone to them for repairs and buying are car. They have always been helpful. I have never had a problem in all the years we have used them. Today they are going out of their way to do things over the phone so I won't have to go out. I am very thankful for that help all the time during the pandemic. read more

Terrible Service, went in for a problem that they said they fixed... Then lied and told me they took it for a test drive and said it was all set. It took me no longer then 2 minutes to realize they didn't fix the problem. Then when I asked to see the part that they supposedly fixed they said they said no. Now they want me to come back in and pay for another $100+ diagnostic that they should have gotten right the first time around. Word of moth goes a long way. Took new car in for alignment at 14.000 miles. Eating rear tires. It took five trips down there to get it fixed, end result was extremely incompetent service, staff sucks and tried to blame mechanical issues on me. End result being I now need three new tires @ 150.00 each and my vehicle is still out of alignment. Bet your ass this is my last ford. I would not take a wheel barrow there for service! And yes they charged me 125.00 for the 10 hours of driving and gas burned while enjoying their professionalism. What a joke. read more

My power steering failed, and after I restarted my car the power steering returned. Because I had a three hour ride back to my home, I asked the people at Quirk to check my car to see if it was safe to drive. They determined that I had missed a recall related to power steering. I had a very bad experience with Quirk Ford this summer. My son-in-law was driving my 04 Ford Focus and the alternator died. He had it towed to Quirk and had to pay for a hotel overnight in Augusta. They put in an alternator and 3 weeks later it died! We had it towed to Portland where we live and Yankee Ford diagnosed a faulty alternator that had no warranty. They replaced the alternator again. I contacted Quirk, had the faulty part sent to them in Augusta and asked for our $630 back for the repair that used a clearly faulty part. It has been one month and Mr Oneal, head of the service department, has been pleasant but says they are waiting to hear from their distributor about the faulty part. I have recently contacted the branch manager, Brian Johnston, who has not even returned my call. I feel it is their problem about the part and to preserve their reputation, they should refund our money as we have now paid $630 for 3 weeks use of an alternator! Bought a 2014 Mustang Convertible Program car. I understand that there are imperfections in these autos like scratches etc. and there were a few which is no big thing as long as they can be made to look nice, and it was not bad. When I got the car home and was cleaning up the scratches they didn't get, don't get me wrong the car looked nice when I picked it up. While doing this I discovered a mismatched tire on the car and lots of rubber in the drivers side wheel well. Called them to see if they would replace the tire and check the alignment. when they got back to me, by me calling them, the salesman said the manager would give me an alignment but no tire. I was told before i left the dealership if I found anything wrong they would fix it. They also said if it had been noticed before I left the yard they would have fixed it, but don't feel responsible after it leaves the yard, more or less saying I could have put a tire on to get a new one. Who would think a 2014 car with 17500 miles would have a mismatched tire on it, not me! Mismatched tires is a no no, they all have their different characteristics. I feel this dealership truly don't care about their customers once they get them out the door, and it would be my guess they knew the mismatch tire was on there in the first place. If a tire an alignment is to much to ask for under these circumstances, this company is out of touch.
