THIS PLACE DOES NOT CARE ABOUT THEIR CUSTOMERS! My husband and I bought a Christmas tree here for…read morethe first time on Friday for $172 for a 7/8 ft tree not including the $10 tip we gave the guy who helped us (Austin). His only job was to put the tree stand on the tree securely and tie it to the roof of our car. Well, just 2 days later on Sunday at 3:30am we hear a huge bang and glass shatter (super loud and scary - we thought someone broke into our house). When we came out of our bedroom, we saw the Christmas Tree had completely fallen over and broke half of our ornaments. Ornaments that my husband and I have collected over the years to places we traveled to and even new ones we bought this year. Just utter shock. We will never get those memories back. When I called the owner this morning - Bryan, he honestly couldn't care less. He told me it was a problem with our tree stand (which we purchased from Toby's Christmas Tree lot in Walnut Creek and have used for 3 years with zero issues) and that there is nothing he could do for us unless we brought the tree back for a refund. When my husband came home today, he saw that they did not place the tree stand on correctly and that is why it fell over. Bryan doesn't care about his customers or their experience. He told me they put the tree stand on as a courtesy (every tree lot does includes this service). He took zero accountability, had zero empathy, nor apologized or tried to even make it right. Clearly, he needs the money. I will NEVER buy a Christmas Tree from here ever again and do not recommend this place. Great holiday spirit Bryan! Merry Christmas!

The prices of their trees were fair and reasonable. They offer a wide variety of trees, and the…read moreselection across the entire lot was impressive! I'm already looking forward to the next season. The staff were friendly, and the service--from the lot to loading the trees into the car--was excellent!

I really enjoy shopping at this store - all the associates are friendly, helpful and freely offer…read moreadvice. The layout is organized and it's easy to find what you're looking for, but if you can't find something it seems an associate is always nearby to help. The cashiers are quick and efficient, and a new one shows up quickly when the line gets long so there's never a long wait. You can also order ahead and do "curbside" pickup. There is a separate building dedicated to grilling supplies and accessories. They have a large and wide selection of pellets, briquettes, wood chips and a mind-bending wall of seasonings. There is a good garden section in back with a modest selection of quality plants that you can trust.

I have to say, this was the single most unfriendly Ace I have ever been to. Not subjectively but…read moreobjectively: I was here early on a Friday morning, walked past an otherwise unoccupied cashier - no greeting (no smile, no eye contact, no "Good Morning" nothing), and as I wandered around the unfamiliar store looking for what I needed, no offers of assistance. I practically had to step IN FRONT on someone to ask for the last item I was looking for despite several folks in red vests. At checkout same cashier didn't ask for my phone number for Ace Rewards. When queried, she responded that the transaction was complete and offered a half hearted cancellation and rering. I did decline. I wish this was an anomaly but I was in this store with my son about two weeks ago to a similar response. The only competitive advantage that locally owned hardware stores have over big box stores and Amazon is service. I live in Hawaii (Oahu) and have a home in Phoenix --- Barry's Ace Hardware in Phoenix is amazing. I have already given up and defected to Home Depot in Hawaii for the same reasons as above.
