This small tree lot had a very good high quality selection of 6' plus trees and the service was spot on!

These folks are great and friendly. Have an awesome selection of trees. It's my go to place in Berkeley now that many places shut down.

Nice, small operation. Good inventory and they tie the tree on your car for you. We'll be back next year for sure!

This year he made a donation of trees to our school for our holiday festivities and we are so grateful!

I love the gift shop as well. There are artisan crafts that will make the perfect gift or addition to your home. Staff is fun and helpful as well. Please see the photos below. Pricing is above average for a higher end product across the board. There are sometimes pop ups here as well like Japanese street food or dessert in the afternoon and early evening.

I asked; the woman behind the counter looked it up and answered: $42. That seemed a bit expensive, so I checked online. While checking, the same woman comes over, sits down next to me, and asks, "Can I tell you something? Small business can't compete with Harbor Freight," then gets up and leaves. First, her statement to me was incredibly condescending. I'm almost 60 years old and know how businesses large and small work. She didn't need to scold me like I'm 5 years old. (FYI, Harbor Freight doesn't even sell any gauntlet gloves.) Did she honestly think she'd either guilt or shame me into buying their gloves? Did she think that was a good tactic to engender customer loyalty? Second, I'm all for -- and do -- support local businesses, even if it means paying a little bit more. As I said initially, I've been a customer of Flowerland's for several years. In general, if an item seems expensive, I check online not only to compare price, but to read reviews, in this case, for the particular brand of gloves. If an item has 4- and 5-star reviews, perhaps it's worth the extra price and I have made such purchases in the past. I've certainly knowingly paid more for their 1-gallon plants averaging around $22 whereas I know that many places sell 1-gallon plants for around $15. Third, in this case, this particular brand of gloves was about four times the typical cost of other gauntlet gloves I saw online. As I said, sometimes I'm willing to pay more to support a local business, but that does not mean I'm willing to do so unconditionally at any price -- especially for things like gloves that, no matter how good quality they are, will eventually wear out. Gloves are disposable, commodity items. (The seams at the fingertips are always the first part to wear out.) If that woman is independently wealthy, works at Flowerland just for fun, and pays any price any small business asks, well good for her. Some of us, myself included, are retired and are living off savings. From now on, I'll stick to Berkeley Hort, Orchard Nursery, and others where I have never been condescended to by any member of staff. Oh, and Berkeley Hort's plant prices tend to be better anyway.

This was, without question, one of the most disturbing and discriminatory shopping experiences I've…read moreever had. From the moment I entered the store on 8/3/26, one employee (a white woman with dark hair wearing a CB2 shirt) made me feel completely unwelcome. This lady was full of hate and straight up racist. I was simply shopping for the items I came to purchase and never said a single word to her. Yet throughout my visit, she repeatedly glared at me, rolled her eyes, turned her back every time I got near, and appeared to laugh with another employee while making negative facial expressions in my direction. I will never forget how they both look because the store is small and it was impossible not to notice the repeated behavior. At one point, she loudly said, "Ugh, I want to go home." And turned her back towards me again. I left feeling targeted because of my orientation. Whether CB2 intended it or not, that's how this employee made me and my family feel, and it completely ruined what should have been an ordinary shopping trip. What makes this even more upsetting is that this happened in Berkeley, a city that prides itself on diversity and inclusion. I am a fifth-generation Berkeley resident. I attended Berkeley schools, live here, work here, and have shopped on Fourth Street for years. Never in all my years have I experienced this level of hostility while simply shopping. I have never seen this employee before, and I sincerely hope no one else has to experience what I did. CB2 should take this complaint very seriously. No customer should walk into a store and leave feeling demeaned, unwelcome, or discriminated against because of who they are. I walked into CB2 expecting to shop. I walked out questioning how many other people this employee has made feel the same way. It was appalling, deeply upsetting, and one of the worst retail experiences I've ever had. I will not be returning until CB2 demonstrates that it genuinely takes customer discrimination and employee conduct seriously.

I usually come out with a few trial items or things mainly for extra storage for clothing, swimwear, kitchen, gear, and travel. The Container Store is being acquired by Bed, Bath, & Beyond. They're making some shelf / retail space in the store for some of BBB's products. I appreciate how they sell Cadence because I have seen them online, but never in person. They are pretty pricey, but I can see how they could be beneficial for traveling. No, I have yet to try them myself. I like they are magnetic and are offered in various fun colors. Look into coupons that could be used now that they're going to be a part of BBB. Can't wait to see how they make the floor plan and what merch they decide to offer.
