I'm very tired of restaurants claiming to be open until 10:00 when really they are not. I went to Farmington R&R at 9:30 pm hoping to get a take out order for my family. They of course were out of brisket, which was to be expected; however, the staff had put the turkey, pork and ribs "away" because they didn't think anyone else was coming in. Consequently they said I could order chicken but nothing else. I left because my family did not want 4 2-meat plates of just chicken. No other restaurants were open by the time they informed me chicken was the only option. I worked at a buffet restaurant for five consecutive years and we were not allowed to pull food until closing, not one minute before. I understand staff wanting to leave right at 10:00 but this doesn't work if you're telling customers you're open until 10:00. Please either close at 9:30 or keep your food available until 10:00. read more

It's always crowded but rightfully so, the food is pretty good. I would recommend getting there early or right before the lunch rush starts. I would also recommend ordering your food at the restaurant instead of ordering off of DoorDash/online because if they don't have what you order they will just replace it with what they do have. Wouldn't recommend the hushpuppies, they were crisp but dry. Ribs are flavorful and the cuts are nice and thick. They're cooked well and was the best thing on our plate. I think R&R BBQ has overshot it's capacity for orders. Particularly on the weekend. They are on every food app, and in between that and in-store customers, they just can't keep up even for a basic takeout order! I ordered the 3 Meat Plate to include ribs, turkey, and pork loins. Also requested utensils and both sweet and spicy BBQ sauce. Ordered an additional dinner roll, Peach Cobbler, and a requested side of their BBQ beans. It took them forever to cook and pack my meal. The biggest mistake that I made was NOT checking the bag before leaving. PLEASE, PLEASE do not make that mistake! I ended up with absolutely NO BBQ sauce, no pork loins, no utensils, and 4 rib tips. NOT actual ribs! On my receipt they said they were out of the peach cobbler. I think they meant the pork loin and actual RIBS! Their BBQ beans taste IDENTICAL to Van Camp's pork and beans in the grocery store. You know. The little red can that has always been sold at 50¢. (Maybe now it's about 69¢ with inflation and everything...lol ;+) The rib tips and turkey were extremely dry though I will say the rib tips had some good meat on them. One of the turkey slices looked like it had mold or something (I'm sharing a photo. The Peach Cobbler was actually the highlight. It's 5"x2" for anyone that is interested. This store really needs to get it together in regards to employees and management because it's blatantly obvious by a number of the reviews that they are in WAY over their heads! i read on internet how R and R BBQ was one of the best in Salt Lake City. When I got to Salt Lake I was sure to check it out. We got two items one a bowl with mashed potatoes and one baked potato with Briskitt on top. The Briskitt must have been the last bit left and we got a very small portion which was hard and mine was almost all fat. Very disappointing. For one drink and the two items we paid $37. It was maybe worth $20 but with the meat we were given probably in reality worth $10 for the potatoes. Maybe I just got a really bad batch and what was left but I won't make that mistake again. I recommend anyone else who goes there to check their food when they get it and not be like me and just let it go. read more

My family and I came here from Montana to visit our cousins. We decided to go here to eat and I LOVE BBQ but it really wasn't that great. I got the Mac and Cheese with sausage and hush puppy sprinkled on the top. The sausage was great but the hush puppies were super dry and the mac and cheese didn't really have any flavor. My aunt got a pulled pork sandwich and had to send it back 2 times because they kept putting cold slaw on it. After they got it right, they came out with a $20 gift card and 3 free deserts which was nice. The service was super fast but it was also not that busy. I can't speak for the rest of my meals but mine wasn't bad it just wasn't spectacular. witness really clean and organized in there and the bathroom is nice too. read more

The Best Restaurant in Town R&R is our absolute favorite restaurant. We eat out once a week, at R&R exclusively. It is hands down the best place to eat in Farmington, the entire Salt Lake area, and anywhere else I could see myself visiting. First off, the food is incredible. You place your order at the front and more often than not, my food is ready and waiting at my table before I even have a chance to fill my drink and sit down. So, this place is a staple in the SLC area. It has a few locations and the pretty big boxy. I have lived here for 5 years and this was my first time going. My wife had been before and was not impressed. Nevertheless, my wife's opinion has no bearing on my own, therefore, commence review. My wife and I came here for "date night" and I like that you can skip the line, take a table number, sit down and scan the menu, then order right from your phone. I am sure the advantage for them is that people don't complain about the lines and they can grab your email for future marketing opportunities. Overall, this was convenient. We got a 3 meat plate, brisket nachos, and banana pudding. Total...$41! The 3 meat plate was $17.99 if I remember correctly, but an extra dollar if you wanted brisket (which we did). The 3 meat place was super underwhelming, very small serving size, the brisket was, well, just bad. Not sure if it was overcooked or what. It was tender, sort of, more mushy than anything. If you've had texas brisket, you would know, this is not it. The chicken was fine. I can't even remember the other meat we had, and it was yesterday, that's how forgettable it was. The saving grace was the brisket nachos. The meat itself was about the same, but worked well with the nachos and the chips were big and made in house from my estimation. The queso was buss. For $12.99, it was a good deal. I'd come back just for the nachos. The hush puppies that we got with the 3 meat plate were good and flavorful. They add chiles or jalapenos or something in them, but that didn't make them spicy. We had to ask for butter to go with them, which I thought was odd. Who eats hush puppies without butter?! The banana pudding was good. Not stellar, just good. Different than the southern style banana pudding I am used to. More fluffy, which was not a bad thing. Lastly, we tried all of the sauces and honestly did not like any of them. Since my family is from Carolina, I tried that first. This must be Western Carolina bbq sauce because it was thicker, still vinegar based, but spicy. I found all of the other sauces to be too sweat and opted to eat all of the meat without sauce, which is odd for me because I generally love all types of bbq sauce. All in all, I would come back but would certainly be selective about what I order. Seems strange to go to a bbq place and not get their meat plate, but that is exactly what I would do. read more

I ordered two different dinners of the (2) meat plate as advertised in their menu. First two meat plate had ribs (two total were included), sliced brisket, hush puppies (3) were included, with a side of potato salad. Second two meat dinner ordered was sliced brisket, sliced pork , dinner roll (only one was included), with a side of garden salad. I requested spicy BBQ sauce. Four small containers were included though I could have easily used ten! The sliced brisket was good. The ribs, unfortunately, maybe only had two different bites off of each (all bone, far too much fat, and very pink meat! I will not consume pink meat of any sort after a bad bout of food poisoning elsewhere). The pork tasted somewhat similar to the brisket obviously cooked in the same seasoning. Neither was too bad. Very filling and very greasy. Definitely could not finish it all; even with three others eating with me. The garden salad was very small, but VERY fresh! Probably the best out of the complete meal. The potato salad was by far the WORST that I have ever had and I do NOT recommend it! Too bland. Bad mayonnaise was definitely used. No tang. No celery, relish, but plenty of eggs. It was so horrible nothing could help it and had to be tossed. Dinner roll was fresh and good. Hush puppies rather burnt but ok in the center if you rubbed some of the BBQ sauce on them. Overall, an okay experience. On the fence about it but I wouldn't necessarily negate it in the future. read more

If I could give 0 I would. The ribs are horrific, it's like eating a flavored bone with the lack of meat. The service was horrible, there was a max of 10 people in the restaurant and it took 35 minutes to get a 2 meat plate with Ribs and chicken. Probably the 2 easiest meats to cook and they failed at even that. And for that I still paid $25!! Honestly such a disappointment, the quality used to be so good and it has TANKED! Very upsetting and will never be going back and I suggest you never do as well. read more

Eight employees behind the counter on a Sunday evening, yet they couldn't serve ten tables without very noticeable delays; Several tables were sending back meals for fixits because errors were happening often; Couldn't quite tell what tables were available to sit down at first because the employees never cleaned the numbers off the table from prior customers; We had to guess one table was open (notwithstanding the number still there) because no one had wiped up the crumbs from the prior customers. They upsold us 75¢ to add a side of cole slaw to the pulled pork sandwich, and it was *LITERALLY a 1.5-oz sauce cup!!* Menu (in store and online) said Fried Pickles are a choice of a side like any of the others, but they arbitrarily added on $1 more for them to our bill. We chose Fries and Fried Pickles after my son and I first ordered Sweet Potato Fries and were told, "Sorry, we're out of Sweet Potato Fries." "Okay, what kind of gravy comes with the mashed potatoes?" "Sorry, we're out of them, too, as well as the mac & cheese." Our buns were toasted (at some point) yet were served completely cold. However the pulled pork itself was juicy, smoky and quite tasty. And the bun is an otherwise quality bun. The BBQ sauces weren't that original, but they were tasty. (Loved best the vinegary Carolina sauce with our pulled pork.) And the Fried Pickles and Fries were good sides, even if not what we first wanted.
