So I wasn't going to write a review. But have you ever been to a place and the experience was so bad you just had to review? Or the opposite where something was so exemplary that you had to review it too? Have you ever met someone that was so good at her job, you could tell she really enjoyed it, someone happy to be there and just made your day because of it? Well this was our server at TRH. Her name is Ashley (Venti) and she was amazing, so good at her job, so friendly, but not overbearing, happy to be there, helpful, kept all our drinks full, offered good opinions, told us fun stories about TRH. And even brought us peanuts. An absolute 5/5 for her service maybe even a 6/5 if that's possible. We ordered the bloomen onion for an appetizer. It was good but not as good as the original. 4/5 My son and I had the ribs and they were fall off the bone goodness with great flavor. Mine came with a side salad and seasoned rice. 5/5 My daughter had the sirloin and really enjoyed it, cooked perfectly at medium rare, really good flavor, and a loaded baked potato. 5/5 My wife had the herb encrusted chicken and enjoyed it. 4/5 Go to this location in Layton and ask for Ashley. She's the best. And no I have never met her before this.

I have eaten at different texas roadhouses numerous times. I would say once a month on average BUT the last time (today) was by far the worse customer service, food and experience I ever had. First, food... fries under cooked and very small portion, the ribs I received tasted okay but were 3/4 the size my wife received. You need to work on portion controls!!! The steak came to the table nearly moo'ing at me when I asked for medium rare. It took nearly 10 minutes to get it back. Once back, it was super "stringy"...if you eat steak enough you know what I mean. Customer service, A kid pukes right next to us....like right next us...on the floor. I get the attention of not one but four different employees about it. Some even walk through it...gross by the way. The last one finally gets help (thank you, she was awesome...she actual apologied to us and thanked us for attempting to get someone.) She has to stand over it for a couple of minutes because no one will help her....her the actual employee!!!! During all of this no apologies from management....nothing. Get your act together.

I haven't been to Texas Roadhouse since this day, however, the food and drinks were wonderful as always. We had amazing service and highly recommend this location. Service alone was 5 stars. This restaurant is a great place to take family and friends, noting that options are meat heavy (at least the last time we were there). I recommend getting reservations or on their waitlist for evenings and weekends, as the wait can be long.

We ordered a blueberry cornbread with lemon butter off the seasonal menu, and it was very good. I'm impressed at how well the combination went together. With that said, the cornbread could have been a little hotter. The main entrees were a steak hash also off the seasonal menu and an original breakfast. I have to say the steak cash was really good. Had a chimichurri on it and another sauce that went very well with a decent amount of meat and more than enough potatoes and other ingredients. The original breakfast was scrambled eggs with some cheese on it, potatoes and bacon. Again everything was very good. They have a line of fresh juices available none of which we tried but they do serve Coke products. All in all, while I'm not really big on chain restaurants, I would definitely go back here multiple times to try different things off the menu.

After seven visits, I feel like I've given First Watch a fair shot, and there's a lot to like…read more The food is a step above your typical breakfast spot, the atmosphere is bright and inviting, and the staff is consistently friendly. It wants to be a great go-to brunch place. But what's holding it back is a pattern of "good enough" execution, some gaps in table awareness, and either front to back with house, communication, or staff education. A few examples: - I've ordered eggs "well done with fully set whites," five times Three times the whites came out runny. - One visit, a large amount of water was spilled on our table when drinks were delivered. It sat there soaking menus and making it awkward to even rest your arms until I finally grabbed paper towels from the restroom and handled it myself. - Another time, a drink was served with liquid running down the side of the glass and then spilled a little more when placed on the table, leaving the table sticky. Same outcome, same self-service cleanup. None of these are huge issues individually, but together, they start to feel like a training and attentiveness gap. On the menu side, some of the bowls (especially quinoa or potato-based ones) feel a little unbalanced--heavy on the base, light on the toppings--so you end up wishing for more substance beyond the filler. Even small details, like the overly aggressive spray nozzles in the restroom sinks, make basic things like washing your hands more frustrating than they should be. Bottom line: First Watch has all the ingredients to be excellent, but right now it's settling for "pretty good." Tighten up execution, table care, and change base to mix-in ratios, and this could easily move into top-tier brunch territory.

Came both in the afternoon as well as at night. The bartender in the afternoon was super friendly, she was not at all bothered that we had a large group coming in and out. Great to talk to, gave us insights on Utah and the culture here while we were visiting. The bartender later in the evening however... well. We understand the bar was slammed, that is no excuse for the poor attitude and service though. She acted like everyone was a bother to her. When you're a service worker, which I have been, and are working on tips at the bar as well, you shouldn't be that dismissive. Especially when it comes to the safety of your patrons. The crowd in the evening was also weird, not at all super welcoming to outsiders. We were just in our group having drinks and conversation when an older gentleman started to cause an issue. He claimed we had moved his pool balls at his table. We were close, but not at all in the relevant area of the table. He began insulting us and trying to start an issue. We simply told him we didn't move his balls, he could check the cameras if he felt it was that serious, and we even offered multiple times to buy him a new set for the table and move on as grown men. He proceeded to brandish a firearm concealed. Interesting choice to carry at a bar, coming from another CCW holder in my residing state. He later mentioned to the bartender "I have my strap on me if they (us) follow me outside". This was directly by the bar and on camera if you doubt me. The bartender was of 0 assistance when we asked her to simply run the camera back a few minutes and prove we did not touch his table. She was EXTREMELY avoidant and dismissive about a potential hazard in her bar. Stellar service alright. At this point, we ordered the last rounds of whatever we were drinking and closed out. Did not want to tip on the experience, but out of pity for the bartender on the basis of the above issue (it's bullshit but it's still a safety issue) and how slammed she was, along with our group being larger. I've been in that position as a service worker. I hate to give this review because the experience was genuinely ok before this issue in the evening. The drinks were good, prices fair, typical dive bar affair. We aren't sure if racism had any play in this. We were the only minorities in there for the most part, and we have gotten weird stares through our time here in Layton. Nothing as concerning as this bar experience though.

I ordered the Joey Sirloin from the kid's menu which is supposed to be a 5 oz well done sirloin steak. You also get a small beverage of your choice, along with a side, and their complimentary bread. I have ordered this particular entree before with zero problems. That was not the case this last time. The first thing that I noticed was how TINY the sirloin steak was. It was basically a few bites. Pulled out my scale, and low and behold it came in weighing barely 2 oz, not 5 oz as advertised! I took photos for reference. This was a takeout order. I've always appreciated the fact that my meals come in sturdy brown paper bags stapled for freshness and safety. Well....I should have opened the bag right then and there in the store! The side that I requested was the Caesar salad and they had put the hot sirloin on top of it in the bag, so by the time I got home the lettuce was hot and wilting...but that wasn't the worst part. Oh, no. They put their few "good" lettuce leaves on top only for me to find brown, bruised, AND dirty leaves throughout. I am not kidding you, the salad had NOT been washed! I've NEVER encountered that anywhere! Rotten leaves? Yes. Dirty leaves that you could actually see AND taste? No!!! I did attempt to try it until I realized it was all filthy unwashed produce. The "complimentary bread" was not in tinfoil. It was just thrown by itself in the brown paper bag with no whipped butter, no utensils...no nothing. The small beverage had no ice and was also warm. It wasn't even hot out and this was a late evening pick-up. Never, EVER again. I cannot believe their prices here and the garbage that they serve. Guess I should be grateful it was only from the cheaper kid's menu though I actually was going to order A LOT more but something called intuition stopped me. Thank GOD for that.
