My wife and I went to LongHorn Steakhouse looking forward to a nice steak dinner. We had eaten there once for lunch and enjoyed the food, so we wanted to try the full dinner experience. When we arrived, we were told there would be a 45-minute wait, which was understandable. Since there was a wait, we asked if we could sit at the bar instead. We could clearly see a few open seats together, but the hostess told us, "There's no room." I pointed out the empty seats, and she replied, "You can sit there, but you might not get service." I then asked if food service was available at the bar, and she said it was -- but that it would still take at least 45 minutes to get food. We sat down briefly, but the bar area was dirty, and honestly, the interaction left us feeling unwelcome. The tone and attitude from the hostess came across as if she really didn't want us eating there at all. So we decided to leave. That was the disappointing part -- because we actually enjoyed the food during our previous visit. I want people to know that the quality of food has drastically changed at Longhorn. I went there all excited with my wife to celebrate my birthday and was sorely disappointed with the food. We both ordered filet minion with sides of Brussel sprouts and roasted mushrooms. The steaks were barely warm and almost cold. In fact, both steaks looked like they were cooked ahead of time and set out to rest for some time. What the heck! Both the Brussel sprouts and mushroom side dishes were utterly cold and old looking as well. I told the waiter to replace the side dishes and he came back with replacements and they were cold as well. I don't get it. What happened to this place? It used to be high quality food. I will never go back, and I told many of my friends about my experience the following morning and they said it happened to them as well in the last couple months and they stopped going. Goodbye Longhorn. Keep this up and you won't be in business very long. I wish I could get my $95 back because I am definitely not happy. I will not recommend this place any more. Update: The new Kitchen manager called me and we had a detailed discussion. They gave me a gift card to compensate which I thought was very nice. Very much enjoyed my $33 steak... juicy and flavorful, the wife's Parm Chicken was wonderfully prepared... Asked for boxes. Our awesome server came back with several small boxes. I asked if they had two large boxes, the server kindly advised "I WILL SEE IF I CAN GET THEM". And that they don't like handing out big boxes and they have to get it approved!!!! She went and asked and advised the manager asked, why we needed large boxes, she told the manager I wanted to speak with them, at which time she was approved to give us two large boxes.... THE TOTAL FOR OUR TWO MEALS WAS $108.19 w/tip, BY THE TIME SHE WAS APPROVED AND RETURNED WOTH THE TWO LARGE BOXES, we had stuffed our leftovers in the four small boxes AND took the two large boxes out of spite! I typically don't leave reviews or complain ever, but feel like this is justified. My younger brother just graduated college yesterday and my family and I wanted to take him out to eat and as we've never had issues and only a wonderful experience, he choose Longhorn. Because it was a party of 8 I went online to see if I could grab a reservation which states "for larger parties please call". So I did and was told they don't do phone reservations. I mentioned to the gal I was a few minutes away with the whole party, wasn't told about a wait time. I even mentioned online said to call in and reserve and her response was "oh" which is small but noteworthy. I arrive at the restaurant in which when I entered hostess sat talking to her friend for 5 -10 minutes who was in another party and had been helped before even trying to greet/help to put me down of the wait list. Finally she says it's going to be about 45-50 minutes and then says if the whole party was there they could sit us sooner. Great. The whole party was there, I let her know I was going to grab them (waiting outside since no room inside to wait) walk back in let her know and she says wait time is still 45-50 minutes. We waited a whole hour. My mom went to see how much longer and she responded with "they're cleaning off a table your next". Another party got sat. My mom went to check in again and shs said "it's still gonna be 25 minutes" contrary to what she just stated. Mind you, we let her know my other little brother with disabilities was with us and as we waiting an hour+ already he was getting anxious and starting to have issues in which was not taken into consideration. Finally we get sat and immediately go to put an order in for my little brother so he could keep busy eating before us. He has always been able to get a plain bun with mayo instead of the toppings/meat because he doesn't eat that. He as extreme autism and if you know anything about autistic individuals you know they are incredibly particular with what they will eat and not. We felt safe coming to Longhorn with him because it was a place that always accommodated and felt disability friendly. The waitress comes back and said "the kitchen said they can only do it if it slows down because they're too many parties". My mom replied "he always orders that we've never had an issue" in which she said "the kitchen doesn't care what I have to say they don't listen to me". My mom replied "he won't eat anything else off the menu. What is he supposed to eat he's autistic". The waitress with a grin replied "What THEY don't eat things" . That was so beyond disrespectful, insensitive, rude, lack of manners and education. I told her that was insensitive of her to say. My brother was sitting right there and watching someone treat my family like that in real time was insane to think that would even happen. She quickly said "I'll grab you another server" with her eyes wide open after she said that knowing she shouldn't have. I ended up speaking with James, one of the managers about the entire experience and our new waiter. Who both were great. However, just a head up, if you have disabilities or special needs this is not the place for you. Food is great. Customer service atrocious. read more

Came in for lunch yesterday, the ambiance was nice and quiet, the restaurant was clean and i was seated quickly and promptly. The service was a little on the slower side to take my drink order so I placed my food order at that time. Only reason for the 4 stars. The food was cooked to perfection, I had the 9oz filet with a plain sweet potato and asparagus, I requested it rare, usually most places over cook a rare request but this was perfectly made. The seasoning and flavor was great on everything and the bread was soft. I would definitely recommend stopping by if you're in the area. read more

The food was great, the service was alright, but at the end of the meal we asked for boxes and were given these little rinky dink containers. When I asked for a bigger box, the waitress informed me that they were no longer allowed to give the full size boxes anymore. This corporate greed is ridiculous, I had to use TWO boxes to fit my ONE meal inside, so I'm not sure how this is more cost efficient or less wasteful. I was offered a bread bag to try to fit my steak in, but what?? Not gonna come back to any Darden establishment any time soon if this is how you're going to run your restaurants. Longhorn Steak House. Located in the parking lot of the old Burlington Coat Factory on the east side, facing the America First Credit Union. Once you enter the restaurant you notice the decor is basically a western theme. The restaurant has plenty of seating, so that has never been a problem for my wife and I. The only time we have had to wait is when we were going on a holiday. They use the hand held vibrator method to have you come when it's your time to go to the table. Now finally, getting to the good stuff, their menu. We have never had a bad experience, the steaks always have come to the table perfectly prepared. Their menu has a wide selection of delicious steaks and other items. I personally prefer the New York Steaks. My wife on the other hand prefers the sirloin, which is one of the most popular steaks that they offer. If you want to try this restaurant, I'm willing to bet that you will experience one of the best steak restaurants around!! My wife and I chose the LongHorn Steakhouse on Wall Avenue in Ogden, Utah to celebrate our second anniversary, and we were genuinely excited to try a place I hadn't been to before. When we arrived, the hostess was wonderful--friendly, welcoming, and seated us right away, which was a great start. Unfortunately, the experience quickly went downhill. We were seated directly next to a guest who was coughing uncontrollably throughout our entire meal, positioned right behind my wife. While I understand this isn't something the restaurant can control, our server clearly noticed how uncomfortable we were and could have easily moved us since there were at least three open tables in our section. No offer was made. When it came time to order drinks, the server initially told us they didn't carry what we asked for, then listed what the bar did have. Moments later, she changed her answer and said she would check. After going to the bar, she returned to tell us they actually did have what we wanted--Kahlua and Bailey's--which was confusing and didn't inspire much confidence. When our drinks arrived, my wife's Colorado Bulldog tasted sour. Both of us tried it, and it was very clear something was off. We were later told the cream was expired. To make matters worse, the server returned with the same exact drink to "make up for it," which only added to our discomfort--why would anyone want to drink the same drink again after being told it was made with expired ingredients? When our salads came out, we had both ordered ranch dressing, but mine came out with blue cheese. At that point, between the coughing guest behind us and the string of issues, we just wanted to finish our meals and leave as quickly as possible. When the check arrived, the server offered a "free scoop of ice cream" to make up for the expired cream in the drink--which felt like an odd choice, considering the issue was spoiled dairy in the first place. The final straw came when the server returned the check for signature, and it was drenched in juice and blood from a steak. It was messy, unprofessional, and honestly shocking. This was hands-down the worst service experience we've had, and it was only 4:30 in the afternoon. I can't imagine how things would be if the restaurant were busy. So, LongHorn Steakhouse has decent reviews here and so I wanted to give it a try and compare it to the other affordable chain steakhouses around. We started with the Texas Tonion, our server said it was like the bloomin onion. It was just okay, I didn't prefer the batter and felt it was heavier battered than the bloomin onion. The dipping sauce was good. 3/5 Their complimentary wheat bread was pretty good but nothing wow. 3/5 I ordered the t-bone steak medium rare and, compliments to the chef, it was cooked to temperature with a red center. Which surprised me as the steak, 20 oz, was pretty thin, probably 1/2 inch. The flavor was good, came with a literal pool of butter on top. Which made it juicy and flavorful but probably took a few years off my life. I know many steakhouses put butter on their steaks, and I don't have a problem with this, but this was a lot of butter. I ordered the broccoli as a side and it came out cool, not hot or warm. 3/5 My wife ordered the sirloin with shrimp, the steak again was cooked perfectly to temperature. The sirloin was a little thicker and had good flavor, but nothing special, and we kinda prefer the extra herbs and spices at some of the others. 3/5 She subbed her salad for French Onion Soup which was really good. 5/5 The server we had was really good, very attentive without being obtrusive, but never asked about our steaks. 4.5/5 They do let you call ahead to be added to the wait list. This place has become my favorite steak restaurant. Their ribeyes are go juicy, always cooked and seasoned perfectly (they do use quite a bit of black pepper, which I love) and you can tell it's good quality beef. Their salad is always cold, crispy and delicious. Best blue cheese dressing. The bread and butter also a must. They have the best variety and quality for their sides. Have really enjoyed all of them. I don't think you can go wrong with any of them. Their baby back ribs are one of my favorites also. read more

We are visiting friends in Ogden and met up at Longhorn Steakhouse and it was my first time trying it. The appetizers were really good. We ordered their version of a blooming onion, the spicy chicken bites and spicy shrimp. My wife ordered a sirloin and she enjoyed it very much. I ordered my steak medium rare and I'm very happy with the temp it came. My one complaint was my steak was full of gristle and I wasn't ready for that much butter on my steak (I have high cholesterol and the menu said steak seasoning but didn't mention butter). The service was great, Josh, our sever was fantastic, and my cocktail really hit the spot. Maybe I should have ordered something else but overall I'm willing to try it again. read more

Starting off with stuffed mushrooms & tonions. The came the Caesar salads. Hubby had renegade steak with shrimp. I had renegade steak with a baked potato. If you make it to Ogden, Utah, make sure you ask for May. She was the best server ever! We came pretty late and she was on top of getting us refills of our iced tea before they tossed it for the night. She also came around several times. I feel she deserves a raise! Let's start by saying I don't visit steak house as much as I would like, but when i do ,i want something memorable and from any restaurant with a solid reputation. Appetizers are always delicious , we had french onion soup. Soon after (5-6 minutes) our steaks arrived, Filet and shrimp for both of us. Cooked PERFECTLY , charred , and juicy as can be !! Longhorn offers a good amount of food for the money. I've been a few times for lunch and dinner. The dinner entrees come with good portions of sides and have been consistently good. I tried the strawberry salad for lunch and was happy with it. Definitely try the cheesecake for dessert. I wish they would take reservations because it often seems like I wait more than 5 minutes even when not busy. Service can be hit and miss, some of the booths need maintenance. read more

Apps this trip included the Firecracker Wraps - you really should give them a try, and the White Cheddar Stuffed Mushrooms. The latter redeemed our faith in stuffed mushrooms - phenomenal. I opted for the Seasoned Steakhouse Wings for my meal. They were juicy and flavorful, and just enough food for someone who wasn't starving. Husband went for the 22 oz Porterhouse with mashed potatoes and seasoned rice. It was cooked and seasoned perfectly, and I proceeded - in spite being full - to help him polish it off. Worst experience with a server ever! I love this place, but I have never had a more rude and loathsome server than I did tonight. She rolled her eyes at us and when I asked her question about the steak she rudely said, "read it yourself." I was appalled by her heinous behavior. Her pathetic and attacking verbal and nonverbal customer service skills were atrocious. She was belittling and condescending and had our entire party on edge the whole night, She ruined out entire experience and celebratory dinner. She felt more like a bully than a server and treated us like absolute trash. I am disgusted at this repugnant behavior and will never eat here again. Truly a disgrace since we brought several friends here for the first time tonight and had talked it up to them because it was our favorite steakhouse. Building inside and out was in great shape and comfortable. Hostess looked a little disheveled but was great. Waitress was on top of things and food tasted great. Our steak was about as flavorless as it gets, for $30 a Outlaw Ribeye that's disappointing, the service and wait time was decent for 2pm in the afternoon, and the restaurant looks really nice and the atmosphere feels clean and neat. But when the only flavor you can taste on a steak is charcoal, it leaves much to be desired, even the A1 sauce had a difficulty making up for such a bland steak. I tried their signature Brussels Sprouts as well, I'm pretty sure they were all burnt.
