I don't understand why there are so many negative reviews on this company. Everything we ordered was delicious! We ordered takeout and it was hot and ready when we arrived. The person at the register was super friendly and checked to make sure we had everything in our order. We got the three meat plate with ribs, turkey, and pulled pork with hush puppies and a side of coleslaw. No gross fatty pieces which was nice because I can't handle fatty pieces of meat. We also ordered a 1/2 plate of pulled pork nachos (yum!), and a side of sweet potato fries and fried pickles. It was enough food for my husband and I with enough leftovers for another meal or two. I likely would order regular fries next time just because sweet potato fries can be tricky to get just right, but they were still good. Maaaannn, I had really high hopes for this place. The servers weren't anything extraordinary. It really just seemed like another fast food restaurant but that served BBQ. The servers just didn't seem like they got paid enough to actually be courteous. The ambiance was nothing out of the ordinary. They had a couple TVs sparsely spread out in the dining room. And the food was cold when it got to us and the meat had little to no flavor. We really had to rely on the BBQ sauce on the table to carry the meat, which is not what I think BBQ should be like. Disappointed I arrived at 9:23pm and was told I could not order Wings because they already turned the fryer off. Even though they close at 10p. I was then giving a list of things they weren't able to cook. So i ordered brisket nachos with a plain house salad with no meat & ranch. I can definitely tell the workers just wanted to go home because of the lack of customer service. I understand closing on time. But 45 mins before closing is wild. I was very excited to eat some good BBQ. Unfortunately this was not it. I will admit the service was quick and it was good. The ambiance is nothing to write home about it it is alright. The good was the chicken wings, those were very juicy and full of flavor. Unfortunately that was the only good thing. The ribs were very dry and did not really have any flavor, the pulled pork was also dry (I don't know how that happens since that is supposed to be fatty), and the brisket, let's just say that you would be more hydrated if you ran a marathon in a desert. I had tk take a bite of the hush puppies (also dry) to not choke with the brisket. All jokes aside, they say they are award winning, but I don't what did they win. Pretty solid BBQ, especially for the area. We rolled up around noonish on a Sunday and it wasn't very busy. The folks working were friendly and our food was ready super fast. We hadn't even finished filling up our sodas before it came out. You order at the counter and then pick your seat. Casual interior with plenty of seating options. Each table has four different bbq sauces available which was nice to try. I used a mix of the sweet bbq and original bbq sauces. I got a two meat plate with pulled pork and brisket. They asked if I wanted my brisket chopped or sliced which I appreciated. I tried the potato salad for my side and the hush puppies. You can pick between a roll or hush puppies for their plates. I really liked the pulled pork! The brisket wasn't bad either. The hush puppies were a nice touch (I rarely see them or order them usually) and the potato salad was decent. R&R is still the best bbq in Utah. Hands down. I've been here a ton and have tried just about everything on the menu. Today we had the pulled pork sandwich with pineapple and the chicken plate. The pulled pork was delicious as always, with a healthy amount of slaw. I like the Carolina gold (which is a newer sauce) on the sandwich. The sweet potato fries were perfectly crisp and tasty. The chicken had a great smoke on it, reminded me of my Thanksgiving smoked turkeys that I do during the holidays. With the growth of R&R, there are sometimes hiccups with quality or service, but they seem to figure them out the next time and they continue to grow and expand into new parts of The Valley and state, so that's a good sign! read more

I usually eat at 10600 south R and R. I brought my wife here because I had an awesome Cobb salad last week at 10600 south. We both ordered the same thing. After waiting about 10 minutes they brought it to the table. It was not at all what I expected. The Brisket was a pile of shredded fat. I nearly gagged. I put it aside in a dressing cup and noticed there was no roasted corn in the salad. I went up front and verified that it was on the menu. It was. I asked Lilly if they had any corn. She said "we don't have that here". It's on the menu. I explained and she said she would go check. After finishing my salad, 20 minutes, I went and asked Lilly if she forgot about me and the corn. "No, I don't think we do corn here"?? I'm including a picture of the pile of shredded fat they tried to pass off as brisket. This is just how it appeared on my salad, even thought it looks like it came out of a dogs mouth. Next time I'm driving to 10600 south where I get corn and real meat with my Cobb salad. We decided to get meat by the pound or half pound as we wanted to try multiple barbecue meats and in enough quantity versus a 3 item plate. Nonetheless, we got a half rack of ribs. The ribs had good flavor but were not quite as tender as they could have been, though that's a bit of preference as some people like them to completely fall off the bone versus some say there should be a little bit of pull off the bone when you bite into them. The turkey had really good flavor and surprisingly wasn't dry as sliced smoked turkey could easily be dry. The brisket was tasty but not as fatty as true fatty brisket. In other words, the lean brisket was a little drier and not as flavorful, though it had great bark. We did get a side of potato salad and it was pretty good. read more

This was my first meal in Utah and I thoroughly enjoyed my visit on a late Thursday afternoon: Food - I ordered a pulled pork sandwich with batter fries. With a drink, it costed around $16 which was okay in terms of pricing. I noticed that the fries were battered and thought these were very delicious and crispy. The pulled pork sandwich was great, however I wished they toasted the buns as it was pretty lukewarm between bites. The pulled pork was good as well, nothing super hot and it was very balanced between fat and meat. The hot sauces at the table were really fun to choose from. The sweet BBQ sauce was my favorite and complimented really well with the sandwich. Not the craziest BBQ sauce I have ever had, but decent. Just wishing that some of the things were hotter when they were served! Service - Not much to say in this category as you walk up and get your order, then find your own table and get your own drinks. The people were nice, nothing out of the ordinary! Ambiance - I think this was my favorite part! The music was cute and country, and I sat outside in the outdoor seating area in the back. Decent barbecue and sides. The sliced brisket was dry, but the shredded brisket was redeeming. The ribs were certainly tender, and with some sauce, absolutely lip-smacking. We normally love R&R barbecue. The Orem store is always on point, but our last two experiences at this location were VERY disappointing. Two weeks ago my wife got the brisket nachos, and half the brisket was just pieces of fat and gristle. It grossed her out enough that she couldn't finish them. last week I got a 3-meat plate and when I got my plate my sweet potato fries were actually cold. Not lukewarm, but cold. I approached , the person giving out the food and told them my fries were actually cold to the touch. Her response was, "yeah sometimes they sit out for a bit" didn't offer to get new fries or even warming them up would have been fine. So I said, "I guess I'll eat them cold? " And she said, "Sorry" It was one of the weirdest and worst instance of customer service I've ever experienced. Fantastic...except for the potato salad! I loved the brisket, a little lean, but I thought the flavor was sooo good! The pulled pork was superb, would order that and the brisket again and again! The Mac n cheese was pretty good, however, the potato (nearly raw) salad was fairly bland-hey, maybe just add a little seasoning but mainly CooK the 'taters'. I bought ribs and brisket from this location this evening and unfortunately they were terrible. I recently ate at the Midvale location and the ribs were wonderful, so much so I was singing their praises to my family and insisted we try them this evening. The ribs were extremely tough and I was embarrassed having recommended R&R. Candidly, some of the worst ribs I've ever had. I won't be returning to the South Jordan location. I don't say this with the intent to chastise or be rude, simply wanted to take a couple minutes to provide feedback to the manager as I used to be a restaurant manager and if this were my product going to a customer I would want to know so I could rectify it. Why do I not come here more often? While other sit down restaurants were quoting 1-1 1/2 hour wait times we were able to walk in and order within 5 minutes. Staff was attentive and polite, always nice to have someone smile while taking your order. We ordered two of the 2-meat picks with the pulled pork is rave worthy, the ribs and brisket above average in my opinion and the BBQ chicken perfect. I couldn't get enough of the Carolina sauce with a vinegar tang which after a few bites turns into a pleasant but not overwhelming kick. The food came out FAST and the restaurant was clean, no overpowering music, and was able to have a conversation over the table without having to yell making for a pleasant date night.
