The photos of Wayback burgers looked amazing on their website so I was excited to try it. I think I came it with way too high of expectations. I got the Bourbon Bacon burger and the bun, bacon and burger tasted good. The only thing that through it off was it had a very pungent and sour mustard sauce that didn't complement the flavors of the burger. I was also disappointed in the chili cheese fries since the chili was too thick and tasted like canned food. Despite the food coming straight out of the kitchen, nothing was hot or tasted fresh. First off the place was a little hard to find. The sign is small and black. It is right next to a wing stop in the parking lot of the smiths. My first impressions were the place was new and clean. The staff did not greet us or say anything when we came in. They have one of the electronic ordering kiosk which I hate. They want a tip and aren't even willing to take my order. We tried to use it and got frustrated and called someone to please just take our order. It was a little pricey for 2 burgers and fries at over $30.00. Our food came quickly but that is where the good ends except for the fries. They were very good. I had the garlic Romano fries where I really liked. The burgers on the other hand were not that good. We could not put a finger on it but the wife said it was like they were mushy. There was not an option to have a single patty which might have helped. Went in on Saturday 7-19-25 around 2pm. The ordering process on the screen for people who have never been there was not convenient. Then we had to grab our own cup for the order as one employee was on break and one person stayed in the back. We would have sat down to wait for our to go order but every table was dirty. Our shoes stuck to the floor as we walked around looking at the decor. The food was mediocre at best. Average burger, there was nothing special. I've had the Sweet Bacon Burger, amazing. The cookie butter shake, which I'm hope is super limited time, or I'll add 100 lbs. before the holidays. The Cajun tots, which I think need more seasoning. The Bourbon Bacon, which was great, and perhaps the best "Classic" burger in a very long while. The only downside is that attention to detail seems to be missing as far as making sure orders are right. I didn't get my shake with order and had to wait. And the Cajun tater creole remoulade didn't come with my last order. That said, this is a mainstay for me now. Recommend, and hope they work out some kinks. read more

Horrible experience. After placing my takeout order I waited for 30 minutes to find out they gave my order to someone else. The cashier offered me a drink while I waited for an additional 20 minutes. The manager (I assume) is incompetent and had to deal with other customers with lost/incorrect orders. The manager handed me my order and I found 2 of the 4 items in my order were wrong again. I was not going to wait any longer so I left with my order. Once I got home I found one of the cheeseburgers I ordered was the wrong cheeseburger.
