R&T Electric has been my go to electric company for years. I have had them install extra outlets for air conditioners, install new electric boxes and ceiling fans, reinforce electric service including grounding, and have never had a problem or a complaint. Our home was constructed in 1941 which makes electric work and installations a challenge. Their charges are very reasonable and as a homeowner, I have 30 days to pay. read more

First time using R&T electric after the merge with Vachon. As with previous experience, the work was great quality. However the communication from the office was very aggressive. We used a renovation loan to fund the work and getting draw inspections approved and checks sent out always takes a bit longer. Unfortunately the payment was delayed by an additional week due to a mistake at the bank. Three weeks after we received a signed off permit of the work, they demanded payment that day or they would file a lien even though the bank had confirmed they were resending the checks and they would be received within four business days. read more

Terrible. Came and did nothing. Installed a screw on the panel and left. Guy was here a total of 7 minutes. .unit stopped working as he left the driveway. Called back no one picked up phone on there emergency line. Left a message. Was called back 4 days later and was bitched at by lady on phone about my complaint. Then we got the bill. I understand the call out fee. That's understandable on a weekend. But she billed $100.00 in parts. The only part was a .5 cent screw. Called back and was bitched at again... the issue is still unresolved. all and all super shitty service rude bitch on the phone. Un real to deal with. They suck donkey ass. They are that good. Just today, well after hours, we had an issue and the on-call electrician walked us through resetting a unit's electricity - at no charge, to save us a costly visit! R & T Electric was the electrician service I selected after obtaining quotes from other local electricians. My preparation included providing a floor plan of each floor in my 1894 Victorian house. The best quote for the project time, costs for my rewiring and upgrade project and attention to my updating requests was from R & T. I had used them and other local electricians a number of times in the past. I chose R and T for the recent major project because first, they listened to my request for wiring upgrade, new panel and concerns for opening baseboards and recently renovated rooms. Second, they provided a detailed quote of the work to be done as to hourly rate for one and two man teams, separate materials cost and estimated time to complete the project. I selected the R and T team because they recognized and understood the construction challenges and advantages of balloon framing of a Victorian house. My selection of R & T Electric was well placed. The two man team was prompt each day, kept me informed of their work status and consulted me when a decision on rewiring/ outlet placements were made. My floor plans provided them with valuable information on house construction and my preferred location for new outlets/ switches etc. The rewiring project resulted in a sensitive rewiring, replacement and upgraded features with minimum wall and baseboard openings. I was consulted and involved In the decisions to open baseboards and the one wall opening. The baseboards opened were carefully replaced, and in one area, replaced in better alignment than their original placement. The wall opening of 6" x 8" was critical to a basement to 3rd floor wiring. The skilled team removed the 6 x 8 piece of wallpaper and saved it for me and removed the same area of plaster and lathe. They completed the wiring, replaced the lathe. I will replaster the small area and reglue the wallpaper easily. A small inconvenience for me but a great creative resolution to rewiring that area with minimal repair. R & T Electic finished the project ahead of the estimated time and below the price originally estimated. The team cleaned up each day and again after the project ended. The team was skilled in addressing 1894 rewiring, coordinated their daily project goals with me, were considerate of me and my old 3/4 renovated Victorian and competently creative in meeting old house challenges. I recommend R & T for excellent electric sevice and sensitive, competent old house wiring knowledge. I would call them first in the future. read more

As a loyal customer I had them check on an outlet and the fix was to reset the GFCI switch which took about three seconds. I was charged $99 for the visit. I am no longer a loyal customer and will take my electrical business elsewhere. Make sure if you hire them to see what the charge will be just for a three second visit. I wrote to the office about the over charge for something so small but I was ignored. read more

This posting is long overdue! We have been doing business with R & T Electric for years and just love this company, from the ladies in the office to the electricians who have been to our home many times to John Ruggles! Whenever we call with a problem, our request is quickly dealt with, and an electrician is at our home to resolve it within a short period of time. Carol gives us a time for the call, and the electrician is there on the day and time that we're given. We had a remodeling of our kitchen a little over a year ago, and Paul was here so many times in the course of that project, always very courteous and explaining whatever he was doing that day. He has been here for numerous other electrical needs that we have had in the past years, and we will miss him now that he is no longer employed by R & T Electric. We look forward to continuing our relationship with them for many years to come and highly recommend R & T to anyone! read more
