Tried R Burger's on University for the second time and it has not disappointed at all! First time had their breakfast bowl and I was very satisfied with the flavors and portion. I had heard this place was legit for breakfast burritos in Riverside. I'm here to tell you that is not the case. I ordered a bacon breakfast burrito and my husband ordered the sausage. Burritos were just over $10 each - which honestly is the norm now so can say anything about the price. The weight behind the burrito also makes the price bearable as it will fill your gut. Here's why I took off two stars - first the tortilla - no char or browned grill marks on it that you see when they are cooked on the flat top. This tortilla could have been warmed in a microwave for all I know, it had that moist feel to it. The eggs inside had absolutely no seasoning, not even salt. The bacon was tiny limp strips - again no crispy crunchy yummy bacon just barely done. Lastly, the hashbrowns took up 50% of the burrito and again NO SEASONING - it absolutely blew my mind not an ounce of flavor in this burrito. The cheese however seemed good and just the right amount. Lastly the salsa - everyone knows you have to have good salsa with a breakfast burrito.... This folks ain't it. Water down salsa with a very very strong tomato paste/ketchup flavor. No good. Other food may be good here but for a quick burrito I will never come here again. read more

First time trying them via Door dash for dinner and WOWW! The food was fresh and right since we made some modifications. My husband had a plain double meat burger which he enjoyed. I tried the fish sandwich and OMG it was the best I've ever had! Big filled with fresh condiments. I added a slice of American cheese and some red onion...drool. Then we shared a box of onion rings. I find myself getting the #4 for breakfast, every morning, eggs, made to your preference, french toast, and 4 strips of bacon. I like my bacon crispy, not the texture of bubble gum. I requested my bacon to be crispy, and it's been prepared that way every morning. The prices won't kill you, but you can feel the California minimum wage effect being trickled into your bill. Anything cooked on the flattop is inconsistent as it gets now. Got one reviewer on here with a raw patty and BOTH my wife and I got this dry, overcooked, unseasoned dog food. The beef was actually crumbling apart, indicating it's been previously frozen as well, so it's not fresh anymore. And how is there a perfect 90 degree angle on the cheese slice? These are on the menu as melts. The cheese was not melted. How do you screw up something as simple as melting cheese? And no sauce at all? Really? And the onions weren't caramelized at all. I don't mind waiting for decent food, but if this was my first time coming here? I'd never go back again. I expect better, given the previous track record. The cooks here have no passion or drive to make good food anymore. The only exception is whoever does the fries and chicken strips; those have always been cooked well. The issue with the fries is you pay $3.50 to get one potato worth of fries, so even THE FRIES aren't worth ordering. Y'all are an embarrassment to the excellent food in this area.
