Rick does mostly Commercial jobs, however, I called Rick on New Years Eve because my Furnace stopped running. Rick showed up At my house an hour later to look at the system and diagnose the problem. My HVAC system is from 1992. It is very old and honesty, Rick could have sold me any part or service. I am certain other HVAC techs would have done just that. However, that is not what happened. Rick cleared out a vacuum line that was plugged preventing a switch from opening. He charged me $80 for the service call. Rick was wonderful! When my AC stopped working in the middle of a heat wave I called 15 companies! A different company was able to come out right away and charged me $100 to tell me what was wrong, and how much it would cost me to fix it, which was an arm and a leg! Rick, I had left a message for, but he called me back later that same day. When I had told him what the initial company had said, and what they wanted to charge me, he was appalled and insisted a second opinion! When he came he was very thorough and explained everything he was doing. He also showed me what I needed to be concerned with. He quoted me a price to fix my unit that was less than half the original company! He also followed up with me several times after his visit to make sure we were comfortable! A/C went out this past Saturday, June 29 at the start of a string of 100+ days. Couldn't get a hold of many A/C companies on Sat, but had two scheduled to come out on Sunday. Won't say who those companies were, but, to say they tried to take advantage of us in a desperate situation, is putting it kindly. Well, I called Rick at R C late Sunday afternoon, and he was able to come by early Monday afternoon between jobs. He saw what had happened and knew that we didn't need an entirely new system (ducting, furnace, etc) but just needed the condenser/ compressor. He installed it earlier today (the next day) and now we've got a brand new condenser with higher SEER rating and updated refrigerant (no longer R22), so it's running quieter, colder and should be more energy efficient. Rick and Payden did a wonderful job and just seemed like really nice guys. As a Folsom resident, I like keeping my business local, too, so the fact that Rick is a Folsom guy (Payden is a Placerville guy) didn't hurt. To sum it all up, though, they did a great job at a MUCH, MUCH reduced cost from what a couple of the big companies were trying to sell us on. Don't let the big companies scam you. I called RC Air Solutions due to the reviews I read here on Yelp. I'm glad I did. I called and left a message. Rick called back the next day. He came out the following day and within too long explained what the problems were, told me what he was going to charge (A VERY fair price), and had my home HVAC all dialed in after not working at all. He is extremely knowledgeable, explains things very clearly, and like the other reviews touch on, a really nice guy. If your air conditioner stops working and great customer service (plus a working A/C) is what you are looking for, Rick, the business owner delivers! I called Rick at 1PM because we needed our air conditioner repaired in El Dorado Hills and he was the closest. He said he would be over in a couple of hours. At 3:30 the A/C is working great. He found a bad solder joint on one of the circuit boards and repaired it. With two small kids in the house, my wife and I were so thankful for his quick and effective work, followed up by a great price, that we added a tip to the payment. WOULD GIVE 10 STARS! Had a furnace issue when it was getting into 30s at night. I called RC Air Solutions after no call backs from the "big guys". Not only did Rick answer, he came over that night and waited for me to get home from work. It was a simple fix that he repaired temporarily for the night then he was back at 830 am next morning. Our AC abruptly stopped working the morning of 6/22/17. After getting nowhere with our home warranty company we had to call dozens of hvac ourselves. Nearly everyone was booked for the next 1.5 - 2wks. We finally got an opportunity to speak with Rick the morning of 6/23/17. He asked several diagnostic questions and concluded that our repair might not be a difficult one. He said he'd be by that day around 4-4:30p to check it out. He arrived at 4:10 and had our AC up and running in 30min! We are grateful for his professionalism and genuine concern for our well-being. Rick is a great guy! We called him on A Sunday and he was available but he let us know that it would be less expensive for him to come on Monday, so we did. He came, identified the problem, immediately fixed it and gave me some helpful and simple pointers on how to keep my system running long and well. I called him at 5:30pm on a 108 degree Wednesday when I couldn't reach any other repairmen. I called RC Air Solutions for an air conditioner repair and was impressed when Rick answered the phone and came that afternoon in between other service calls on a very hot day. Rick was very knowledgeable and diagnosed and repaired the problem very quickly. He showed his honesty when he didn't try to sell me a new air conditioner to replace my fixable 26 year old unit. Rick explained all repairs in terms I could understand and the cost of the repair was unbelievably reasonable and much less than I expected.
