    Presidential TL Solaris

This review is long overdue. Miles and his team came out to replace my whole roof and skylights about a year ago. The whole team is friendly, fast, efficient, well organized, and very knowledgeable. They answered all my questions and extra requests without any issue. They worked with the utmost attention and care to details, did a fantastic job replacing my roof. I went up there a few times before, during, and after the job to inspect, I could not find any flaws. I am very pleased even after a year, no issues on the roof. Even though my roof wasn't big, there are many details which Miles referred to it as being "challenging." Including many skylights, extra venting, intake and ridge vents, couple flat areas. I upgraded all my materials and choose the Presidential TL, Miles is very upfront with pricing and gives a breakdown item by item. Other estimates I have gotten only gave a lump sum. Miles is very easy to work with, communicates well, and is very responsive. I did have a few issues with the new gutters installed after heavy rains, he took care of it with no problems. You will be very happy and honored to have a roof done by Miles. His team does amazing work and doesn't skip corners.

Our new GAF Solar Roof was installed by R E Roofing a little over 8 months ago, and we could not be happier! Miles, Jody and their team were super to work with, and the job could not be better. It started with the sub contractor that Miles uses to tear off the old roof. Since all they do as a business is tearing off old roofs, they are experts at it. In about 4 hours, our 60 year old cedar shake roof was off, and all the grounds around the house completely clear of any debris. Then Miles' R E employed roofers took over. They repaired all dry rot damaged eaves and laid down the plywood sheeting. As far as I am concerned, they are master carpenters. The work was that good! Then the underlayering and all the components of the Timberline Solar roof. And they did this all in the intense heat of August. Those guys are amazing! Our roof looks great, and more importantly, it performs the job of a roof excellently. We survived the epic atmospheric river storms of January and February without a drop of water anywhere. I waited to see how the solar shingles performed before this review. Now the results are in. The system is performing as projected, and in fact in April it is producing more than was projected. This is a new technology, and I was naturally concerned. But Miles assured me it worked, and importantly, both R E Roofing and GAF would stand behind it. I trusted that because we had a friend who had R E Roofing install a roof several years ago, and this friend raved about how responsive Miles was. So all in all, I wish I could give Miles and Jody more than 5 stars. See the attached photo of the back of my house with the roof and solar shingles. I love it!

I just had a GAF Timberline Solar roof installed by RE Roofing in Campbell -- a very pleasant experience. I highly recommend you work with RE. About 12 years ago, RE repaired a significant leak in my roof. The first two roofers (whom I paid) failed to fix the leak properly. RE was a little more expensive, but they promised to stand behind their work if it was not done right. The repair held and I committed RE Roofing and the name Miles Proctor to memory for any future roof jobs. Skip 12 years ahead. I had been postponing the purchase of a new roof for a few years, and with the recent ridiculous increases in PGE rates, I knew I wanted solar. My house is 1900 sq ft but the roof has multiple gables, a hip, a hog valley, two skylights and all the normal vents. I knew the system would be multiple smaller panels. Having worked with RE for the leak fix, I knew I wanted quality workmanship and a warranty, so called RE after reviewing their web information on the GAF system. I had already had two roof quotes (for 30+ year roofs) and this GAF solar roof, after tax credit, won't be much different. Most of my roof was 30 years old; one portion, an addition, was about 20 years old. Certain Teed Presidential. Farewell. I signed the GAF contract about a year ago, before the NEM2 deadline in spring of 2023, so had locked in that arrangement. I know GAF then had some issues with their product so there were delays in scheduling the work. RE recommended waiting until the product performance was restored; this was fine by me. After several spring rain storms and reschedules, my job was scheduled for mid March 2024. Miles of RE Roofing had two workmen come to my house the Friday before, to replace that beam. Good to get that work out of the way before the job started in earnest. I was informed the crew would show between 7 and 8 each day, and they did - about 7:30. They had a crew of 4-6 workmen every day, first for tearoff, then repairs, then install. Work 4 hours, lunch, work another 4+ hours, clean up. They brought a crane truck to hoist the materials up. A dump truck for debris during tearoff and again during the week for additional debris. They had to repair a roof edge beam and they primed it at the end. Were folding up the ladders when I requested to climb up to take pictures. They accommodated my request and I plan to include photos with this review. The job included permits, removal, gutters and leaf covers, underlayment, ventilation, new metals and flashings, and cleanup. The final debris removal included magnetic 'sweep' for nails and such. The roof job took 4 days and ended after 5 pm on a Friday. The rain returned a couple hours later. I experienced no leaks. It was an inconvenience when the rain delayed the work start, but it was great to learn immediately that the job was done right. A perk for having the work done between storms. GAF handles the electrical install and hookup, and I'm in the middle of that process now. So I will update this review after my roof is generating power and I get a PGE bill.

We have had an Enphase solar installation for 10 years now, which has always worked beautifully…read more However, due to regular PG&E outages in our area (Fremont, CA), we decided to add a backup battery to the system. After careful research, we chose Highlight Solar (HS) to handle this installation. We chose the Franklin battery, and Highlight Solar came out to handle the installation in Nov 2025. Sadly, we had some serious issues with the functionality of our solar infrastructure, after the Franklin equipment was installed... the Enphase solar monitoring device (called Envoy) started having trouble communicating with the panels, and therefore would disable them. HS made a couple of different attempts to fix this issue (which was delayed when they went on vacation for a month), so I had to keep cycling the breaker for the panels every morning to get the system working for another day. Fortunately, they were persistent in pursuing the issue, and after returning from vacation in late January, Samir came out and spent a couple of hours on the phone with Enphase support, who suggested a possible solution for this issue. HS then had someone come out to implement Enphase's suggestion, and now my system is working solidly and reliably (Feb 2026). I'm glad HS didn't just give up on us; I'm sure they were just as frustrated as we were by this situation. We certainly didn't expect this to take three months to resolve, but it is working now.

We met with multiple solar companies and settled on Highlight due to both the great recommendations…read moreas well as our experience during the initial process. We asked a LOT of questions, then we asked more, and then some more. Ali, our salesman, remained patient and communicated thoroughly via email or phone, and at all hours even after we had signed the paperwork. The installation process was honestly better than the sales process. The combination of Chris (the foreman who found a solution for all our requests) and his team which worked in awful weather to get our project installed on schedule were amazing. Our inspection, and final handoff were handled by Samir, who answered even more questions, and made sure we were fully set up. From end to end we had a great experience with Highlight Solar and will recommend them as they were to us. Pro tips: If you get a battery you will need to store it until it is installed. Your solar data might not show up on the app for 24-48 hours after installation...don't panic, it will show up eventually and you will see the money you are not spending with PG&E.

    # Extremely Disappointing Experience with Infinium Solar -- Poor Communication and Project…read moreManagement I am a property manager, and I chose Infinium Solar for a newly built ADU solar project. Unfortunately, my experience with them was extremely disappointing. If you value your time and want to avoid unnecessary stress managing your own solar project, I would not recommend using Infinium Solar. ## Initial Experience The sales process was positive. Marcia from sales was responsive, provided different options quickly, and was easy to work with. We chose Infinium Solar because of their good reviews, our positive experience with Marcia, and pricing that was approximately 5% lower than other companies we contacted. Unfortunately, after the project was handed over to project manager Dai Danh, the experience changed significantly. ## Communication Communication became one of the biggest issues. After the initial site visit, there were revisions to the plan, but we had to repeatedly follow up to receive updated plans and pricing. For example, Infinium Solar recommended that our roofer waterproof the mounting anchors to preserve the roof warranty. We needed anchor specifications and quantities to obtain a quote from our roofer, but despite multiple people being copied on the emails, we waited several days for this information. Throughout the project, we constantly had to ask for timelines, status updates, and next steps. Instead of proactive communication, we had to chase Infinium Solar for answers. ## Project Management Issues As a property manager, I understand construction projects are complicated and issues happen. However, the purpose of hiring a professional contractor is to manage those issues. Unfortunately, I felt that I ended up managing the project for Infinium Solar. The clearest example was the roof mounting anchors. Based on Infinium Solar's specifications, my roofer ordered the required anchors. However, Infinium Solar also ordered and installed anchors themselves -- and the anchors they installed were the wrong ones. They eventually asked my roofer to bring the correct anchors for reinstallation. The frustrating part was that my roofer and I had the correct anchors based on Infinium Solar's own specifications, while Infinium Solar did not. The anchor count also changed multiple times (34 50 56), causing additional cost and delays. There was supposed to be a $100/mount deduction because my roofer handled the mounting and waterproofing, but I had to repeatedly follow up before receiving updated pricing. The battery installation was another major issue. The battery location recommended by Infinium Solar was approved by the city but rejected by the fire department during inspection. This required relocating the battery and caused weeks of delay. The relocation also damaged the wall. Infinium Solar initially did not clearly take responsibility for the repair until I informed them my GC would complete the repair and bill them directly. At that point, I had already lost confidence in their work and used my own GC to ensure the repair quality. The timeline was also disappointing. Before signing, we were told there would not be delays after permit approval. However, there was a five-week gap between permit approval and panel installation, even though the installation itself only took one day. ## Billing and Quality Issues The project pricing changed multiple times. While some changes were expected, the anchor-related pricing was poorly managed. Infinium Solar provided incorrect deductions based on outdated anchor quantities, and I had to provide their own previous emails to show the correct count. I also discovered multiple versions of the CAD drawings, and the latest CAD did not reflect the correct anchor quantity. Even after discussing the correct amount with project management, the billing department still sent an incorrect invoice. The installation team also damaged our roof during installation, requiring my roofer to repair the roof membrane afterward. Infinium Solar did pay for the repair, but this should not have happened. ## Lack of Ownership The biggest issue throughout this project was the lack of ownership. After signing the contract, it felt like the level of attention and care significantly decreased. There were repeated examples of internal miscommunication: * Incorrect anchor information * Wrong anchors installed * Incorrect billing * Conflicting instructions from different teams I frequently had to identify problems, coordinate between parties, provide documentation, and push for solutions. A professional contractor should manage the project -- the customer should not have to manage the contractor

We contacted the business in late July of last year to see about installing a solar system on our home before the end of the year. We loved that we were treated like actual people instead of a number in a queue. Given that there was a slight backlog of jobs they had to work through we were assured that we would have our system fully installed and activated before the end of the year, which we did! It was great working with Nick who was our onsite rep and Juan was always available to answer any questions we had by phone (of which I had many). I spoke with many contractors, and almost all of them sent salespeople who gave generic answers or tried to push cookie-cutter solutions that clearly didn't fit my setup. Carlos was completely different. From the moment he arrived, it was clear he wasn't a salesperson -- he's an engineer, and it shows. He took the time to deeply understand my system, reviewed actual spec sheets on the spot, and immediately identified issues that other contractors completely missed. Multiple companies told me Hyundai panels would work fine. Carlos checked the amperage limits, applied proper safety margin calculations, and clearly explained why those panels would not work with my EcoFlow system -- saving me from a costly mistake. He also walked me through: Proper panel selection within voltage and amperage limits Safe string configurations and series wiring How to maximize roof space while staying within code Permitting requirements I hadn't been told about before On top of that, Carlos identified critical code and safety requirements that no one else mentioned: Bollards required in the garage to protect battery units Correct battery placement to maintain required clearance from doors and entrances Heat detector requirements for battery installations in a garage These are all things that would have caused inspection failures later -- and Carlos caught them immediately. He spent well over an hour with me, climbed onto my roof to check for obstructions, inspected battery placement, reviewed wiring paths, and answered every question in detail without ever rushing me. What truly sealed the deal was how efficient and transparent the pricing process was. Carlos was able to turn around a detailed quote very quickly, and when I received it, I was honestly surprised -- it was a significant amount lower than every other quote I received, even though his evaluation was by far the most thorough. Given everything: His technical expertise The level of detail and care The ability to integrate with my existing system The fast turnaround And the much better pricing Choosing Sunlight Electri-Cal Solutions was a complete no-brainer. Carlos is knowledgeable, meticulous, honest, and genuinely passionate about doing things the right way. After meeting him, I completely understand why this company has such strong Yelp reviews. If you're in the Bay Area and need electrical or solar work done the right way, especially for a non-standard or custom system, I highly recommend Carlos and the team at Sunlight Electri-Cal Solutions.

I asked for warranty fix and they came over (they took 2+ months to get back to me, apparently they kept calling the number they had on record rather than answering the phone or listening to the voicemail with my phone number) and leaf blowed the roof and left... 3k+ in repairs and nothing ever fixed and more water damage because of it.

The roof was replaced a few years ago. The roof its self has a life time warranty. Then a couple of years ago we had a leak from the around the chimney that got under the roof. Jerry replaced the section down to the studs. I have to say I do not understand the any of the negative reviews. Jerry ( the owner ) is committed to answering any concerns or questions in a speedy fashion. . Their customer service is the best I have ever experienced from any company. Believe me that is saying a lot. As we have dealt with a lot of companies. What separates a good company from an excellent company is their first their quality of work and then their commitment to providing excellent customer service. That excellent customer service extends for as long as you need them. I highly recommend Shadowfax Roofing and Solar.
