They were quick to come out and give an estimate, available to answer questions regarding the scope of work, timelines, and negotiating price, and just as quick to start work once we were ready to go. Jorge was our foreman, and he was great. He checked in with us in the morning, professional, and super hardworking, as was the rest of his crew, including Pablo, Jorge Jr, and Jesus. They worked hard, stayed busy, Jorge kept us updated. The whole crew was very nice (with 3 young daughters, that was an awesome little bonus). They kept the workspace contained, were mindful of our safety, and worked around our young family clutter and bustle. Laura was our operations manager, and she kept us updated and up to speed! Rodrigo was our superintendent, and he was very easy to communicate with. He was responsive, timely, and made sure we understood the scope of the work. That was important because our roof needed more work than the initial work order we laid out. There was a lot of rot in the wood beneath the roof. The original estimate was very reasonable, but the scope of work great 2-3x fold. With that increase in work that had to be done, the price still felt very fair. We were in good hands! I used Clean Roof to reroof my house. The finished roof looks amazing and I appreciate the team's recommendation of the color and style, which looks great. However, there are a few issues that don't make this a 100% satisfaction: Project Oversight: I found myself needing to be much more involved than I anticipated to ensure things were done properly. I had to follow up frequently to confirm broken rafters and framing would be replaced and painted. I also wasn't aware I needed to provide paint until the last minute, which forced me to take time off work to purchase it. Garage Door Opener: Since midway through the project, my garage door opener has lost power. The worker lead kindly helped troubleshoot and found a few staples in the wiring, but the issue still isn't resolved. Later I have to hire an electrician for 3 hours to finally identify the problem cable that was hit by roof staples. The project manager just kept saying "The wiring is not up to the code", indicating it was not their fault that the wire was there. How surprised that they were to find a 60 years old house in bay area that's not up to the code! Skylight Debris: Some debris fell through the skylight opening when it was removed and was never cleaned up. I had to clean up by myself later. Rotten Wood Replacement Cost: The charge for replacing rotten wood ended up being much higher than I expected. When comparing bids, I was told it would typically be under $1,000, but this turned out to be nearly 10% of the total cost. (however they denied this is never the case) Considering the total price is 6K more than another Master Elite installer's quote, I have higher expectation. read more

She's been a great communicator and facilitated ALL the connections. Micah, the owner of Clean Roofing came out to visualize the roof for the actual estimate, however, I didn't realize he was the owner at the time. I thought that was great for company integrity and presence. He asked me what I wanted out of the work to be done and let him know my expectations. He LISTENED to my story and listened intentionally. He then went up onto the roof. I thought he inspected the roof very thoroughly, he took good notes, then gave me his thoughts and advice. He answered my questions completely and DIDN'T TRY TO SELL me on anything. He did give me a bit of advice that HELPED TREMENDOUSLY by checking with my HOME INSURANCE for the roof which solidified me choosing Clean Roofing for the job. I took his advice and after an adjuster came out and a couple of weeks I was approved and received about TWO THIRDS of the cost of his estimate!! That was HUGE on Micah's part that overwhelmingly benefitted me. I can't say that most businesses would do that but, obviously, Clean Roofing knows how to consider the resources for their customers. Most of the competitors, on the other hand, did a Google search of my address and estimated my property without seeing any caveats about the roof, such as the dozens of missing shingles from wind damage, exposed plywood, my existing leaf guards or large deck mounted skylight. They definitely would not have suggested home insurance input. And none of them did. To be fair, there was one other business that showed up to look at the roof but didn't offer details or the valuable information that Clean Roofing gave. Only Clean Roofing gave me an estimate that DETAILED the information regarding the work that would be done on a line by line basis. This includes the permit, tear off existing roof, all the layers of new roof, new flashing and saddles, ridge venting, cleaning and warranty, payment, start date etc. I never saw the permit, but I'll ask to see it. Those other guys that used Google Maps, (yes you are being called out) , gave me a dollar amount without any information other than what THEY wanted. That's just not how to do business. On the day of material selection, Clean Roofing project manager, Jack, came out with the product and laid them out on the roof which makes a big difference when you see it under natural light at a roof angle. He let me know that a scheduled job cancelled and I would be able to take the slot if I chose and so I did. The roof material was picked out and the job was scheduled. The day of tear down went very smooth. They showed up bright and early and got the old roof off in a matter of 3 hours or so. They cleaned up after the tear down and gently used a blower to finish up. Later that afternoon the new materials were lifted up onto the roof to prep for the early day start the following day. On the day of install, the foreman Rodrigo and his team, Pedro, Luis, Rolando, and Mag started work and spent all day getting it done but taking lunch of course. They respected our space when my wife and kids went out to run errands and they were courteous not to expose us to harm pausing work when we were walking on the porch way. AWESOME job! I sent a text to one of my friends with images of the roof and his response was, "nice roof, hella clean". Way to go Clean Roofing! It is said, "You get what you pay for." I believe I RECEIVED MORE from the communication, autonomy with decisions, the customer experience, excellent quality of workmanship, and the trust of their team with my family. I contracted Clean Roofing for a complete roof replacement. I was impressed with their level of service and professionalism from the start to finish of the project. The old roof was concrete Spanish tile and the new roof was also the same. Their crew got started on time every morning and worked tirelessly on a very sunny and hot roof all day with only a lunch break. A very dedicated and hard working team. The individuals on the team were Rodrigo, Mag, Pedro and Rolando. They did everything they said, cleaned up after themselves and if I couldn't be more impressed, they managed to impress me even more. A week later, after we were finaled and the invoice was paid in full, we noticed a small area where there was some paint that may have gotten rubbed off while installing the wood. I sent an email and the next day, Rodrigo was back here. We had one of the paint cans they left behind but not the second color. He went to the paint store with a paint chip, got some of that color, came back and finished that small detail. Do not hire them! I had a roof leak, and contacted Clean Roofing through Yelp. Their pricing is, first hour $250, and subsequent hours are $90 per person per hour. I thought this was fair, and we scheduled a time for roofers to work. Roofers showed up late. It's not a big deal, as I understand that prior job might have taken longer. After arriving, roofers put a temporary fix (by applying caulking) I asked them to do a permanent fix, which they refused to do. Their entire visit was for less than 20 mins. Fast forward, I received invoice for 2 hours of 3 roofers work! I had text messages, asking why roofers didn't show up. I sent to Clean Roofing pointing out the discrepancy in their invoice (start/end time) Instead of acknowledging, apologizing and rectifying their mistake, Clean Roofing is harassing me by sending constant emails. We haven't done any major house projects before, and I'm glad we went with Clean Solar + Clean Roofing! Clean Solar helped us coordinate the overall project (picking the roof type & system for solar), so this is a review specifically for the Clean Roofing portion. Our work w/ Clean Roofing started with Joe Barragan and Miguel Huerta coming out for an initial on-site inspection to see what was up with our roof. Our house was built in 1959 and had at least one major remodel in the 80's, so we knew there might be a few mysteries here. They confirmed that the pointy edges wouldn't be a problem to handle, and we talked through exactly what would happen with rain diverting since we were making some changes and removing a gutter as part of it. They helped answer questions like "why are there two of these spinning vent things, and only one moves?" (one must not be hooked up; we don't need it and it can be removed). They also noted aspects of the construction, like the way a bay window was installed that had led to some stucco cracks. And they pointed out one corner saying "this could be a problem for leaks" and sure enough, that is exactly where there had been water damage on the inside when we moved in (and previous owners had replaced the roof and called it a day). I appreciate learning more about what's happening, and that gave me confidence in their work. Joe was responsive by phone and text, and kept me up to date on every step of the process leading up to installation: from acquiring the materials to scheduling the right time to avoid intermittent winter rains. Joe, Miguel, and crew were on time, and prepped me for what things to expect like driveway and garage access. That included what things were more unknown and would need to be assessed on site during the project - like getting a true view of the condition of the timber which would only be known once the old shingles were removed. Everything's been within the range of things they've anticipated, and Joe and Miguel have checked in with me along to way so I could ask questions about any part of the process. The crew has done great work with attention to detail, and I'm glad they have been able to preserve the unique bits of the house's look (pointy roof corners, gingerbread edging - the architectural bits that many houses in the area have remodeled away over the years) while ensuring we have a solid roof and be set up for solar. read more

We used Clean roofing for our new roof, the crew that did the work were very good. They Were detail minded and thorough in theory work. At the end of each day they cleaned up the whole perimeter of the house and did a sweep for any nails. The finished roof looks great. There was one issue at the end that I was not happy with and although it did take a couple of weeks they were true to their word and did come back to take care of the issue, which was only small but a new roof is not cheap so you expect %100 from your contractor. Clean Roofing failed to keep their promises to hand over perfect, leak free roof after multiple mistakes. It's infuriating! Anyone that would like to know what happened from day one can reach out to me. We can provide our full experience of what happened. 1. They showed up on Monday at 5pm and start demo without knocking our door to inform us they will start the work, the worked till 6:15pm. No communication from the demo person to start and end the work. 2. Day 2, they nailed through our perfect ceiling with explanation that once they patch, we won't know the difference. 3. Day 3, there was rain, pool of water inside the front door. After leak and flood inside, and Francisco was informed, he failed to cover opening of the exposed the area. I had to climbed up to the roof and checked on his work. Also failed to cover and kept on working not caring that there will be moisture that could seep in. The lead roofer is Francisco. After multiple mistakes. We suggest people to be aware not to use francisco. Miguel came with all kind of good words to convinced us that they will hand over unleaked roof. We believe him until: 4. Day 5, after completion a day prior. At midnight, on July 2nd, there was one leak, followed to more totaled 8-9 leaking areas. We are speechless!! Be careful if you choose Clean Roofing. We had a few folks bid on our roof after our insurance company (AAA) dropped us over aerial photos that showed 'unacceptable risk'. While our insurance company was full of crap we had been wanting solar and a new roof was always part of that plan so we went forward with it. Quoting was easy and they had 7 shingle options, where other bids stuck to one brand or type. Add-ons for other work we wanted to get done is something I usually avoid, but here it was really easy and reasonable. We ended up doing 3 sun tunnels, which are impressive, and also redoing our eave vents, which were mostly broken at this point. The work started within a week and even with all the extras was done in 4 days including them having to slow down for a city inspection in the middle. They were good about asking questions and making sure things went in the right place. We had Rodrigo's team (Pedro, Mag, Rolando, Erick). They were respectful, quiet, and professional. Finally I can't say enough how impressive it was that every day they completely cleaned up before clocking out. I mean no nails, no debris, nothing. Clean Roofing just finished putting a new foam roof on my Eichler this January. They had to deal with bad weather, lots of intermittent rain, but kept at it and the roof is great. The foam is coated with a waterproof silicone coating, bright white (so it will be significantly cooler in the summer, one of the reasons I went with the foam). Awesome company. We had them "service" our roof. The flashings were getting old and no one had really looked at it in 20 years. They did a full flashing update (ie, reseal with silicon), painted all the roof metal things, cleaned the gutters and put new pro-level attached gutter guards. After they were done and the rain came this last November, two of the gutter drains were clogged with debris from the roof service cleaning. I called and they sent someone over that day. He hosed and cleared the blockages. Also, they're very modern in terms of messaging, payment, etc. Everything was easy to do. Everyone was very nice and helpful. Stay away from this company. The manager Daniel Ryan told me he sent a crew out and I have a voicemail of him stating we are sending a crew out today. After we found water coming through his patch work he tried to cover his tracks by saying I didn't get paid. Long story short Daniel says the reason he didn't send anyone out because he didn't receive payment through escrow on a deal that hasn't closed yet? So how would you get paid if we haven't finished the deal? It was a terrible experience for my client finding out she has to pay for drywall damage.
