Food was not near as good as at the Chuck wagon in Camdenton . The service was not great either

I came here this morning and ordered the breakfast burritos with home fries. The order took about 15 minutes. The burritos were filled with peppers and onions and meat. Very good. Home fries were awesome. Don't underestimate the hot chocolate. A tier meal. 5 stars read more

ordered a very simple breakfast meal at 9 am to go. whomever took the order, rang it up as a lunch item. upcharged me for the eggs and toast that are included in the meal. then proceeded to add lunch sides in the meal as well. was only refunded half the amount I was supposed to. weird experience, and I won't be back. read more

Food was okay. Very basic without much to really drool over. Service was very fast and friendly. Clean and well kept. It was a bit crowded and cramped. Checkout was a bit of a hassle since you had to wait in a long line to have one cashier checkout everyone. I got the poboy shrimp sandwich and fried pickles... it wasn't bad but it also wasn't good.. just very simple and basic. I personally would pass them on the highway if I were hungry again. The nastiest food ever!!! The kids would not eat it because it tasted so bad...they would not do anything about it at all...the owner was an a*****e and said you do not get a refund if you buy a car, it's not my fault the food was nasty and your kids did not eat it...horrible food and experience!!! As always, a good, solid meal, good value and tasty. Today our server was slow getting to us, but friendly once she did. The chicken fried steak is usually much crisper, surprisingly soggy today but the homemade, red mashed potatoes, saved it. My burger was on point, served perfectly rare like I asked. Winner, Winner, chicken dinner! First visit to this little diner and I was very happy to see that the other Yelpers were right on. Great food, ample portions and reasonable prices. I had the fried chicken salad with fresh lettuce, cheese, tomatoes and a tender, breaded fried chicken breast with very good salad dressing choices. My wife had the chicken-fried steak breakfast with roasted potatoes and home-made biscuit. All were fresh and flavorful. Service was prompt and gracious. We will definitely return. read more

A solid breakfast and lunch family restaurant. Expect down home cooking and efficient wait staff. Crazy as it seems my favorite thing is to stop by and take home the fried pies. A childhood favorite I thought had been lost in time. Also those homemade pies for takeout I would bet are as good as they look. We've starting going there more and more. read more

Clean restaurant, friendly staff, fast service & awesome food! If I had to find a negative it's would be the biscuits & gravy was pretty bad. The staff seemed really glum. The waitress checked on us and was nice, but no one smiled. No one was cheerful. Kind of a sad environment. The food was just ok. The bacon was cold and really salty. The hash browns were soaked in buttery oil and I asked for well done and they were barely cooked. The custard pie was really soggy and seemed old. The price was high for what we got. RJ's is the best! It is our go to place since moving here last year. The staff is friendly and competent! The owner meanders through the restaurant speaking with customers and the food is always delicious!! The menu has a variety to choose from and breakfast is available all day! Saturdays and Sundays they have an all you can eat buffet that is constantly replenished with fresh food. Very reasonably priced! Where do I start with why they deserve 5 Stars?!!! First the food is totally fabulous. I had the Southwest Omlette with a biscut and side of fruit. The omlette was served hour and fresh, the biscut was fluffy and the fruit was fresh. Hubby for a tenderloin sandwich and it was PIECE OF MEAT!!! Not all breading and so big he brought at least half of it home. The fries were crisp and golden. Did I mention that we came in 15 minutes before they were getting ready to close!!! Every time I visit my condo in Camdenton I am eating at RJ's. I love the family style diner vibe. The food is always top notch and the people are friendly as well. The restaurant has something for everyone, but make sure you get there early because it gets busy. read more

Don't be afraid if it's packed, servers are very attentive and food is great but if it is a packed house, noise level can climb a bit. Buffet on weekends is a great addition if you have a planned busy day. I'm a local and never disappointed when I stop in. read more
