We haven't had any hot days yet, but it's been humid. This unit sucks the humidity out of the air like you wouldn't believe! All I need to do when it gets a little warm is use the dehumidifier for a few hours, and the living room isn't just cool, it's downright chilly. Most of the time, I have to put on a sweatshirt and turn off the unit because it works so well at removing the humidity. It's very efficient, too. We have solar, but it's still nice to know we're not using up a massive amount of energy when we use the unit. I recently moved into a home where the previous owner allowed the ductwork to be destroyed by rodents. I reached out to a "big" AC company for a repair quote (I won't mention their name but they advertise heavily in KFI 640). They quoted ~$8K to haul away the old ducting and install new ducting.
