This is probably the best experience I had with a contractor, ever. Sean and his team did a great job replacing our old HVAC unit. Sean was communicative, honest, punctual, and did exactly what he promised. He didn't try to change the price in the middle of the job (due to unforeseen obstacles) nor try to upsell me on anything I didn't need. Best part is his level of service. He wanted to make sure I was taken care of before he can do the install so he came by my house few times to provide a temporary fix to keep me cool until the date of the install. To provide some backstory, our AC stopped blowing cold air due to heavy refrigerant leak. We had an old R22 unit that is very expensive to repair or get replacement parts, so the obvious choice was to just go with a whole new unit. I contacted two other companies to get an estimate. This company's quote was in the middle but not too far off from the one with the lowest price. I initially was going to go with the other contractor just because both my dad and my aunt used him with good results. However, when he came to assess our house, he sounded unsure about getting the heating and coil up in our attic due to small access space. He asked me to first get a handy man to create a bigger access panel before he can do the job. That sounded like too much work so I contacted Sean to do an assessment. He said he and his team can take care of that, so that sealed the deal. Sean even matched the other contractor's price and just added a small fee to create a bigger access panel. He also replaced our existing thermostat with a Honeywell smart thermostat. The install was just done today and everything went smoothly. I'm always nervous on the date of the install that there might be some obstacle that might delay the project, or I have to pay extra to have it resolved. Even if there was, it seemed like Sean just took care of it rather than trying to throw it on me. Almost every single contractor I dealt with in the past has done that to me so I am always weary. Sean tested everything before leaving, and his crew did a great job cleaning up. Sean said he will come back during the fall to test out our heating unit. We've been having problems with our home HVAC system for years, and it was finally time to replace our 28-year-old unit. I requested quotes on Yelp and got a ton of responses -- prices and recommendations were all over the place. Then I heard from Sean at Arctic Airflow Mechanical, and right away I could tell he was different.
