Not sure I can say I'm thrilled to get my teeth cleaned, a cavity filled, or my invisalign progress checked but I always look forward to catching up and seeing everyone. Let's start off with the receptionist. Called to make an appointment for a cleaning. I get there and she didn't not put me down for a cleaning, she put me down for an exam so I get sent home. Dr. Examines me, and receptionist hands me what my bill will be for all repairs, I had a few cavities. Come back to get 2 cavities filled, and I don't think the dentist filled them, or knows what he's doing. I was in way more pain after leaving his care than I was before I was there. I still can't chew on that side of my mouth, and it's been months. I decided to never go back, but let's go back to the receptionist handing a me a bill for everything even the stuff I didn't get fixed. Careless-ness. Dr. Smith and team are one of the best dentist practices in Orange County. The staff is caring and attentive. They use the newest technology which includes every thing from email appointment reminders to laser teeth cleaning equipment. Most importantly, Dr. Smith is skilled dentist. Fortunately the only procedure I have had to experience was filling a cavity, but his technique was sound, the procedure quick and I have had no problems with the work years later. I've been going to Dr. R. Scott Smith for 34 years and wouldn't consider another dentist unless he were to retire. Dr. and his staff are like family. I used to be part of the "white knuckle club" when it came to dentists until a friend recommended Dr. Smith. He and his staff are caring and professional. No other dentists gives novocaine shots like Dr. Smith - he warms the novocaine to body temperature so that his shots are nearly painless. What I so respect about Dr. Smith is that he and his staff attend professional learning conferences (I think every year or two) to stay up to date in the best and most effective methods of dentistry. He regularly invests in himself and his staff. I became his patient in 1983 and every time the subject of relocating came up, my first thought was, "What about Dr. Smith?" Thankfully, we never relocated. He's the best. He is state-of-the-art in dentistry, but also appreciates my conservative financial approach and often when discussing a procedure I will ask, "What would you recommend if I was your mother?"
