    Breakfast Quesadilla

Very casual spot that's open from 7am-5am most days. They also have funny birds on the outside that I like to visit. I've come twice now, both times right after work (night shift) for early morning breakfast and I really like that they serve alcohol that early in the morning. Really helps after a long stressful shift. I'm always served by the same server who is friendly and attentive. The Bloody Mary is nice and strong, they also have pretty good mimosas. I've tried the burger and the quesadilla, while both good I really liked the quesadilla a lot. Will definitely be coming back for after work breakfasts to try the rest of their menu

STILL GOOD! I haven't been to R. Thomas in YEARS! When a friend told me they were closing I was crushed! BUT shortly thereafter I learned it was just new management. Still concerned, but much less. Popped in today for a post-race refresher. Everything is just as GOOD. Service was excellent. Early morning was quiet and that much more enjoyable. Same great environment. Same great food. Same wonderful service!

I would not recommend this spot for vegetarians/vegans. PARKING: parking is behind the building. You drive through the narrow entry on the right and downhill to park (complimentary). APPEARANCE: the outside had some nice decorations, but it was too cold that night to appreciate. Theres a heating vent at the door to keep those waiting in line warm. FOOD: Not bad if you're in the area and hungry.

Really 4.5 stars. The 2 best things about this restaurant is the service and the food. Both EXCELLENT. The menu has a wide variety of food for vegetarian, pescatarian and omnivores. Everything was delicious and a huge portion. The ONLY downside is the condition of the actual restaurant. It's very 'hole in the wall' grunge but prices of $15-20 per entree. You have to pass through the kitchen to get to the restroom. There's only tented outdoor seating so not ideal for winter or super hot days. But even that being said, I'd still come back again and again due to the food and friendly service.

Delicious Salmon Omelette and R's Breakfast Special that comes with 1/2 order of French Toast.

R Thomas is always a wonderful brunch. We have never made it to the lunch menu as we stick to our favorites. The Big Breakfast with French Toast and Salmon Omelette always hit the spot! Service is great. Ambience is cool and casual. Dining is an outdoor covered tent setting with fun lights. Heaters for winter weather.

    Fish Tacos French Toast

A meal at R Thomas has never let me down. I've been going here since I was a little girl and have tried just about everything on their menu. I always sing their praises to anyone who will listen! Tonight we had the fish tacos - salmon, onion, broccoli, slaw, dolled up with a special sauce and guac. These tacos are seriously pilled to the top! Also had the breakfast quesadilla - which you can get them to roll up into a burrito with a side of their home fries. Seriously the best home fries in town, everytime I try to recreate the recipe at home I just can't nail it! And to top it all off we did a half order of their famous French toast - an absolute must! Our waiter was great, attentive and kind. Their quirky restaurant always has a great and eclectic vibe. If this place ever closes I'll riot in the streets and chain my self to the facade.

loved r. thomas since forever. i recently visited and had the best meal. from a delicious seafood pasta, the bread and a special green juice, it was all fresh and flavorful. i ordered take out but the service was fine picking it up and i love the ambiance there. the birds chirping outside to all the vibrant decor around the restaurant. this place is one of my atl favorites. i hear they may be changing ownership so i wanted to be sure i caught it before that transformation as things tend to taste different.

I have to start with how in love with the parakeets, so much personality! The ambiance gives you the feeling of going to great grandparents house and they have cool stuff everywhere. We where acknowledged upon entering but it to a little minute to be seated, nothing to complain about because our waiter was by himself. I had a Shrimp and Crab omelet with grits and a Mimosa.... A plus. This spot has been around for years and it looks to still be going strong and it's cool on the weekend there open till 5am.

    Thomas Burger

Good things: The Thomas Burger was delicious and reasonably priced. Devyn was an incredible waitress. Bad: The interior feels like an out of place, rundown diner for children. It's very strange. Bathroom was also super gross. But 5 stars for food and service!

Gotta show love to this Atlanta staple! We stopped by randomly in the middle of the night and had a delicious and filling meal. Lots of vegetarian options FYI. Plus, the staff was friendly. This is such a fun and great alternative to the few other late night eateries out here.

R Thomas breakfast special! @R.Thomas Grill Great service and food Fun and cozy atmosphere! Great for families but also open late when leaving a concert or game

This place is legit and has great flavor. I went with my sister as she is vegan and wanted to let her try something new. The menu is plenty full and has lots of options. The grilled chicken was okay but on the dry side and it looked like they just slapped it on the grill to give it the burnt stripes. The restaurant seems to be clean and just like any other restaurant. My biggest feedback or negative experience was the waiter as it was as if we were bothering him. It may be his demeanor or his personality but it does not give the welcoming vibe. I did notice that a couple of tables left but I am not sure if it was because of his demeanor.

R.'s Breakfast special, eggs, bacon, potatoes, and French Toast, perfect for two light eaters to share!

There was another young lady whose name I did not catch, who brought us bags and to go boxes when we were finished, and she was also incredibly polite, engaging, and friendly. I waited at my high top for about 15 minutes before someone came and I put in an order for queso with meat and a margarita. I had 3 more people meeting me at this table and 25 minutes go by and still no food or drink. After about 30 minutes my burnt queso with no ground beef comes. My 3 people move to the bar and I ended up cashing out AND tipping because I just wanted to move to the bar for faster service. I go to the bar and my friends have their drinks and I'm still waiting on mine and I cheers with a fist to just join in. 5 minutes go by and I finally get my margarita. The bar area was better but we wanted to watch the GA game on March Madness. We were told by 3 staff members that they were not allowed to turn the tv to watch a GA game and were sitting at an Atlanta, GA bar. As always, we tipped both servers because everything isn't their fault but this Yardhouse location will never see me again.

Velvet Taco has a rather interesting story. Starting out in its original location in Dallas in 2011…read morewith a concept that rarely succeeds: applying fusion techniques to tacos. Indian style tacos, Korean style tacos and Baja style. While these experiments are hardly new to Atlanta and America as a whole, they rarely succeed, falling into the void of establishments that made an effort, but could not get a sufficient demographic ready for such experiments. And here came Velvet Taco by Dallas restareneurs Jack Gibbons and Randy DeWitt, showing that this risky concept can actually work. Over the past decade and a half, Velvet Taco expanded to dozens of successful locations and underwent major expansion. The Buckhead location debuted in 2019, hardly a great year to open a restaurant with an incoming pandemic. But, unlike the mom and pop shops that often went out of business, the private equity funds of this micro chain allowed the location to survive. Enough history and let's look at the tacos themselves. The top seller is the chicken tikka taco, the Indian fusion into a taco shell, with deep fried masala chicken, cilantro, basmati rice, raita and Thai basil. The combination seems ridiculous in a taco, but actually works really well. The element of rice, in my opinion, seems unnecessary give the tortilla is already there, but the rest is excellent. Then, there is the Birria taco, made with gruere cheese, pickled red onion and griddled corn tortillas. This one, despite throwing a Swiss cheese into the mix, is a true winner. Perfect shell, delicate pork and a side of consome make it such a winning package. The idea of serving the consome on the side is brilliant, as it allows targeted dipping or pouring, instead of having a taco that does not old up and gets saggy. The folks working the Buckhead location are polite and things are kept clean. All around, it's a very enjoyable spot and likely to stay here for years to come.
