I work in design and fabrication, but in a very different manner than an engineer might. My team and I make beautiful, decorative props, decor, art installations, etc. No two projects are the same! Behind the beauty and finished products, there often exists a "brace part" a behind the scenes, not always pretty, structural element. These parts may support a prop, or make something standoff off a building, etc. As an artist, (not a trained engineer type) I have a general idea of what to do from my lengthy career of "making" and collaborations with other production partners. BUT! Different projects have different needs and variables. The raw material qualities and specs must be considered from the start. To be 100% sure, or very close to, I prefer to discuss with a pro.
