We are so happy that they are doing well and even opened a new downtown location. But of course the farm location is like home to us. Oh yes, the mead! Always fun to try the different flavors. So many favorites! We enjoy Marooned, Viva Sangria, Violet Beauregard, Hot & Bothered and it is always a treat to try the new reserves. They have tables outside and a great screened in sunroom that was very popular. My hubby and I ordered a Mead flight to sample 4 different meads. We enjoyed them all but we ended up buying Seventeen. It is made with strawberry and lime. One strange thing happened though. When went to pay for our flight ($12) and bought our bottle of mead - the girl put the bottle has her tip. (See photo) Our credit card company sent us a message asking if we intended on giving a 200% tip. This left me speechless. I would come here again but definitely look at my receipt before leaving.

As soon as they open in the spring until closing at the end of August, I am here at least twice per week. There is nothing like the taste of locally grown, pesticide-free produce: *Corn is absolutely delicious. Worth the extra cost, and remember that these will not be picture-perfect ears because no pesticides are used. Snap off or cut off the top if you find a little worm and remember that this is what you do in exchange for natural produce. *Watermelons are addictive. Scrumptious! *Cantaloupe: sugar-sweet. Grab it when they get it, otherwise you'll miss them because they sell fast! *Red potatoes are WAY better than what you'll get in the grocery store. These reds make hands-down the best mashed potatoes you will ever eat. *Tomatoes (either from their farm or other local farms): nothing like what you get in any grocery store. These ARE tomatoes. *Squash: zucchini, butternut, acorn, gold bar and others. The flavors explode in your mouth! *Eggplant: the regular or Japanese (when they have it) variety has the most distinct flavor whether you're making parmesan, grilling it or frying it. *Greens: kale and other greens. Super tender! *Cabbage: makes the best coleslaw you will ever eat. Stock up on local honey before the end of summer, too. Honey lasts forever, and they will be sold out come August. On Tuesday, I was looking for a local farmers market close to me I found this place. I read. The reviews and I was like wow good reviews I have to go. I honestly did not experience the ambiance I read in the reviews. I was a bit confused because they had a very select few of stuff they've grown and stuff was from other places. I spent like $15 bucks and I was so happy. The same day the carrot got these big knots on it and I didn't understand why then on Wednesday the entire carrots turned black as you can see the pictures. Not to mention the cabbage turned yellow. I don't know why this happened and I'm very disappointed, but I will not be returning to this market.

This is definitely the place to stop if you are looking for high quality watermelon, especially of the black-seeded variety. This kind of watermelon is hardly ever sold in Houston supermarkets these days. In my opinion, the produce sold here just looks better than the offerings in most grocery stores. The varieties of squash seem more plump and fresh. Part of the haul from the latest trip to Dilorio: Yellow Onion, Russet Potatoes, Zucchini, Ginger, Yellow Squash, Cherries, a Mango and a Peach. The peppers and greens looked good, and I was happy to see sacks of Black Eyed Peas in the freezer section. There are seeds, plants and flowers placed outside and near the front of the store. The service here is great. Highly recommended.

This is the best honey in Texas, if not the entire US. We finally made it to visit the official farm this weekend for the summer trivia night - it was a blast! Our family had so much fun. The staff and other trivia attendees were incredible, good sports, and by the end of trivia we felt like we were part of the Walker honey family. It was fun to visit the shop - we loved seeing the live bees making honey, we got to sample all different honey flavors, and the shop had many unique things that we ended up bringing some home with us - honey soaps, honey sticks, praline candy, books on wildflowers, kitchen gear, etc. The food and all of the drinks we tried were also very good. We tried the honey sodas - butterbeer and honey root beer - both great. The meadarita also excellent. If you get a charcuterie tray - definitely add the honeycomb for $3!! It's a must try. You might end up bringing a whole extra one home after trying it. The spinach and garlic dip with tortilla chips - also great. We have no complaints - what an awesome experience!
