Update review from 7 months ago the brake pads and rotors still squeak and at high speed on the freeway the car jerks hard had to change brake pads even though the r1 pads have still lots of life yet . And the rotors still make noise. read more

Extra cost; from mechanic shop taking vehicle apart and installing the wrong part, also cost on shipping back the wrong product sent out.. After waiting countless months and years for my rotors to wear out, it was finally time where I could find a reasonable excuse to stop by R1 and get on the performance braking game. It's crazy to see how much they've grown over the last few years and I feel like there are cars with R1 logos on them everywhere in SoCal so it's cool to finally be part of the experience. I thought about placing an order online but opted out to contact them via phone. I was immediately transferred to James (sales team) and placed my order for four new Drilled/Slotted Eline rotors for my 2009 Civic SI. The order and payment was all done in no longer than 15 minutes and to my pleasant surprise I was told that they had my parts in stock and that I could pick them up the following day. Went into their office/factory the next day and picked up my order and that's all said and done! They also threw in some sick R1 concepts gear along with my purchase. Bought some a set of rotor pads eLine OE Replacement and they got rusty in the center hub within the next day. Other basic rotors don't go bad within 1-2 days. This is supposed to happen within months or years. I've bought drilled and slotted and brake pads before. They don't want to exchange or do anything to provide loyal customer service. read more

Bought a front pad/rotor/hardware kit for a 2018 Nissan Altima. Hardware did not fit - tried to bend/cut it to fit, but after a few days it began rubbing. Contacted R1 and asked for a new and correct set of hardware. They refused to do so without the part numbers off of the boxes containing the hardware, which were thrown away after the job was finished (wrong hardware added two hours to the job, and now it has to be re-done again). You would think that for the price they charge (they are higher than most other vendors) they would back their products, particularly a simple brake hardware (not rotors or pads) issue. Will NEVER purchase from R1 again - avoid them at all costs. read more

A few months back an acquaintance (someone who works at a local brake shop) recommended that I take a look at R1 Concepts online. That night I looked at the sight. I had a question so I reached out to R1 and was responded to by James T at R1. James answered my questions and was clearly knowledgeable and very helpful. I place an order and about a week and a half later received my new Carbon Geomet Slotted and Drilled Rotors and Ceramic pads. I had been looking at a set of StopTechs. I had read the R1 reviews and with James' help, I was confident in my purchase. I have accumulated about 2000 miles or so on the brakes and could not be more impressed with them. No fade, smooth and the initial bite is outstanding. My son had purchased a similar looking set of rotors and pads via Ebay about a year ago, but they turned out to be terrible. I let him drive my car and he immediately asked me to order a set for him. (He paid, of course.). I reached out to James T, who by the way had provided far more after the sale follow up than any other 'online' or phone sale that I have ever experienced. He truly wanted to be sure that I was happy. So after a little back and forth via email James and I figured out what would be best for this sale and I placed the order. Those are now on the way. I ordered a set of carbon rotors, ordered them on Dec. 10th, and received them on Dec. 22nd. They were the wrong ones, not to mention there was metal shaving all over the rotor; no problem blew them off with an air gun. Called customer service, and they were nice and said they would ship out the correct ones in 24-48 hrs. I called 48 hrs to get tracking info, and CS told me they had to get the other rotors back before they would send out new ones. I didn't feel like waiting another 2-3 weeks to get rotors, and CS didn't care to just send the correct rotors even though it was their mistake and didn't seem to care. Ordered and paid for two sets of rotors on Sat, 9/11; one shipped from Amazon and one from R1. The order from Amazon arrived Monday, 9/13, without issue. R1 called me on Wednesday, 9/15, to tell me they're out of stock on my other rotors. They offered to upgrade both and have rotors to me by 9/18. As of 9/18, I have no rotors.
