Stopped by this bar that had an Alice in Wonderland theme it was cute and fun without trying too hard. It wasn't mind blowing but they did a nice job. Definitely a cool spot if you're into themed places that don't go overboard. Drinks were good. The menu had a nice variety, and everything we ordered tasted nice. They were out of one ingredient for a drink we wanted, but the bartender let us know right away so no complaints there. Service was good, like the ambiance nothing out of this world but it did the job. We didn't have to wait very long at the bar One of the main highlights was the DJ, they played a great mix that we wouldn't have expected at a small bar. There were also plenty of seats, which was nice for when we wanted to just chill for a bit and talk. Overall was a fun night. I personally wouldn't go back but if you're looking for a nice night especially with friends at a relaxed, themed spot with good music and solid drinks, this is a chill go to

We came in for a quick round of drinks and got the sailor moon and the kallaita and both were excellent. A little sweet, strong, good flavor and of course the tajin rim. The workers were nice and the interior was cool. I liked the theme and name of the place and all the upside down stuff hanging from the ceiling was cool. Dim and chill and near a parking structure so it wasn't a pain to find parking even tho it was a weekend and the structure was pretty packed.

I've been here a few times over the past number of years and some nights have been more memorable than others just because of the patrons alone, but I'm not here to review the crowd. I'm here strictly speaking for the bartenders, bouncers, restroom facilities, and drinks. So the bartenders have always been knowledgeable and courteous, starting with a woman who used to work there named Stephanie. She had always been very gracious, kind, and extremely knowledgeable. She really was a master mixologist and a master conversationalist. The drinks she created were always tasty and she was always more than ready and able to suggest new things to patrons. Present day, she's moved onto a different bar in Highland Park, but there is a mixologist there now who is equally as wonderful. Thalia is her name. She has made the last three times I've gone excellent. One evening she made me a few different drinks to try and I remember falling in love with a cocktail called The Molly. One thing to bear in mind when ordering is that it's sort of like a revolving sushi place and the plates (drinks) stack up fast! Your tab at the end of the night may surprise you if you don't watch it, but it's not surprising given how tasty they are. The bouncers have never been a point of contention and have always been professional and kind, unlike the sewer of a bar next door. The restrooms are as expected in this area for a bar--could use a little more mopping and a little more restocking. I wish people would stop writing their stupid names and slapping stickers all over the place, but that's just the world we live in. I really wish that management would put a lock on the men's restroom door though. The first time I was there, someone walked in on me while I was...sitting down...because of that, I had to use the women's restroom my last visit. Because of the restroom, I've got to give this a four out of five. Parking has never been an issue, even though it's a popular spot on a popular street because there's a garage literally right around the corner and another one just the next block down where the movie theater is. Y'all should give it a try! They always have nice djs spinning good music and the crowd is perfect for the Alice in Wonderland theme on the walls and menu!

Jacob and Chris were so nice and helpful. They were knowledgeable in the featured drinks when I asked questions and so kind and patient with our large group. The drinks were great but nothing compares to their hospitality, will be coming back just for them. The vibe and decorations are cool but the bartenders are what will keep you coming back. 10/10

FRIENDLY STAFFFFF & A1 service! s/o to kimberly & louie for being so amazing and making our first time there so memorable & fun with all the shots on the house all the drinks made by kimberly were super delicious which was dangerous in a good way my all time favorite drink was the sailor moon, I recommend everyone trying it If you're lucky, there's close street parking in front, but usually we park at the lot in the next opening street which isn't a bad walk at all came on a friday night and it didn't get too packed by the time we left, but they have a live dj playing music which was most needed for me and the gorliessss ***vaccination proof required upon entering!

I was pleasantly surprised when I sent an email to the address on the website and received a reply with the password in a little over thirty minutes. After parking, we didn't have any problems finding the entrance even though it is not marked. Look for the big wood double doors and doorman standing in front. After giving him the password, he opened the doors and we walked in. We were surprised in several ways. The place is way bigger than I would expect for a place named "The Speakeasy". And at 6:30pm on a Sunday, we were the only guests inside. Only one other couple came in during the 30 minutes we were there. I would assume they are a lot busier on Friday and Saturday night. It is dimly lit, and very red inside. The bar is large with many bottles of liquor on display and many seats. The rest of the space is one large area that must have at least 20 tables, and the ceiling is high. It gives off more of a nightclub vibe than a speakeasy vibe. I tried the Naked & Famous cocktail which has two of my favorite spirits (Vida mezcal, aperol, yellow Chartreuse, lime, $18). It was nicely balanced with a good mix of smoke and herbal flavor. She had the Pablo's Poison (Altos reposado tequila, strawberry, lime, jalapeno, elderflower, $17). The jalapeno flavor really stood out with strawberry and elderflower in the background. They have a good cocktail menu with almost twenty cocktails, as well as a food menu with ten items. Walk up to the bar to order your drinks. Jeremy, the manager, and the female bartender whose name who I didn't get were nice. We aren't in Pasadena very often, and while they have a good cocktail menu, I don't know if we would return. We were expecting more.

They do not take reservations and it gets pretty busy around 8ish so I recommend you show up around 7:30pm just before the live music starts. The ambience is moody and romantic, featuring deep hues and prohibition era decor, there are comfortable chairs with small cocktail tables and large leather couches for larger parties. The drinks were well poured and very tasty, highly recommend the Huntington for a bold drink that's ideal for the setting. This is a great place for a sexy and intimate date night. The live music was spectacular, some seriously good vocals, and the jazzy and soul selection was again impeccably matched for the ambiance. I enjoyed that all of the guests were dressed nicely, nothing I love more than an opportunity to slip on a sexy dress and heels while still staying local. This is the place if you want a reason to dress up. The food menu was limited and not my favorite but everything else was so unique and satisfying that I can overlook the food not being my favorite. The squash blossoms were very good but not very filling, the beet dip was a bit too sweet for my liking. This will definitely be a nice treat for date night, can't wait to come back.

Service Charges and Taxes will be added to the final tab... and any amount that exceeds the $60 credit worth of food/drinks (of course). Skewers are delicious, fries and taters are crispy, and the booze make me happy. I'm very glad they still serve Jinro over Good Day / Soon Hari (they taste funky compared to Jinro). They also have a cool beer tower where there is a separate chamber filled with ice to keep the beer cold without diluting it (melted ice). Rooms, restroom, and equipment continue to be clean and awesome quality. I just realized there are no minimums M-Th so I might go by myself after work even though it's only 2 hours of happy hour compared to the 4 hours on the weekends. They aren't cheap with their AC either unlike K-Republic when it was still open. This place is better than any place I know of in K-town and even the SGV. Moxie has ruined me for all other karaoke spots in SoCal and I have zero reasons to stray elsewhere. Parking is still plentiful and it's adjacent to a full plaza of eats, drinks, and a huge VONS. We ended up at Magnolia House for a late lunch/early dinner. They also serve breakfast/brunch only on weekends. Walked in around 4:30pm and we were greeted by Brian, one of the managers. Brian was the standout star of the whole experience! His energy was exceptional and he is such a great conversationalist. He checked on us several times throughout our meal and made sure we were doing well. He on his own was HANDS DOWN a five star human being. At first, he wanted to seat us in the back corner but I told him the table was too small and he accommodated us with a bigger table. Our server Kiana came up to the table with a pleasant smile and greeting to take our drink orders. I got a glass of cranberry juice along with some water. My son got the American Dream cocktail along with some water. We skipped on dessert. From 4-6pm, they have a happy hour menu with some of their cocktails and shareable plates. The portions are just a bit smaller and the prices are a little lower. It's a good way to sample different items. I think we got a good variety of food to enjoy. To start, we got the Little Gem Salad. It was such a unique combination of flavors and SUPER delicate/light. My son and I thoroughly enjoyed it. The next starter was the Zucchini and Feta Fritters, which was good but not the best out of everything else we ordered. The zucchini was a bit mushy but the batter it was fried in was crispy. Another starter we shared were the Moroccan Spiced Chicken Wings. These wings are gigantic and very flavorful. They definitely pack some heat, so be careful. I don't think the A/C was NOT working to begin with, so the place was already hot. The wings made us sweat even more. For entrées, we got the burger and the pork belly. Brian said they are known for their burger and after taking the first bite, it's clear as to why. It was absolutely PERFRCTION. So delicious! The bun, the meat, the cheese, the onions, and the crispy bacon...all of it mixed together into the perfect burger. I had wanted to add some mushrooms and avocado to it, but Kiana said they were unable to do it. I also asked for lettuce and she said that would be an extra charge. What extra charge for lettuce? We still got charged for avocado when the bill came, but they took it off once we mentioned it. The pork belly was also very tender, flavorful, and crispy. It's just hard to compete with the burger! We also got an order of the Belgian Fries to share and we were both pleasantly surprised at how good they were. The fries are salty and cut pretty thick. The sauce that came on the side was so yummy. We asked for a small extra cup to-go. All in all, the food was great and we liked everything. The vibe of the restaurant wasn't really all that for me. Brian genuinely made up for anything that was lacking in the atmosphere. He is such a wonderful asset to the restaurant and their company. The restaurant itself has been here for about 15 years now and it used to be a very old house. You can tell when you look around. They did a good job with the renovations, but you can see the different areas/rooms. I think they tried to keep the casual comfort of a home, while making it a slightly elevated experience. It was very clean everywhere, especially the bathrooms. They have one gender neutral bathroom, one for men, and one for women. No private parking, so you'll have to park on the street and put money in the kiosk. They also had an outdoor seating. Pretty BIG, only took picture of one side. They also have 2 small TVs. In the bar area and inside their cute lounge. I normally like to try new places, especially when I'm in Pasadena, so I'm not sure if I'll come back here. Maybe if Brian is working, it would definitely be worth stopping by again! Thank you all..

Magnolia House was the place to go 10-12 years ago. But the last 3 times I've been here recently,…read moreit just really doesn't have the charm or class it used to have. Service is really really slow. You may see 5 or 6 waiters on staff...but they aren't stopping at tables to check up on guests. Alot of them are just hanging around the bar or front desk chitchatting with friends. The food quality dropped tremendously. It tastes like bland bar food now. $19 for 2 meatballs laying in tomato paste....and they were not even room temperature. Felt like they had these already prepared and sitting somewhere, just waiting for the next guest to order them. Got a mojito that may have been mistaken for a "virgin" drink....cause no one at our table could taste any alcohol in it. They all said it was watered down mint with ice. I wish this place would go back 10 years and make it like "the spot you want to go to"....versus the spot you now avoid.
