One of my favorites that I love. Randomly came on a Saturday night and although the place was empty, me & my friend had the best time. They have small bites in case you get hungry. It is more of Asian spot but everyone was welcoming and the ambiance was pleasant . Definitely will be stopping by again

Completely surprised and impressed by this venue. Came for a birthday and had a blast. First part of the night had singers/band on stage performing mostly Chinese songs. I didn't recognize any of the music but the people around me seemed to really love it. Around midnight DJ EKG came on and really killed it!! Prices seemed a bit high for the area but cheaper than LA, $300 for a bottle of Hennessy and $80-$100 for 12 beers. $100 minimum for a small table in the middle of the restaurant and $500 for a larger booth on the side. Crowd was mostly groups of friends and mainly males.

We checked out this place on a whim (on a wednesday LOL) it was hip-hop night and I've never had so much fun and be surprised at how much potential this club/bar/restaurant has to be so much more! It's definitely an experience and gives me hidden gem in plain sight - this place is a hop and a skip from target. You walk in and are immediately met with a statue of buddha to your right and several other sizeable statues and i mean I personally think it had a lot of design though put into it and I appreciate it. They have Liar's Dice (for anyone who is curious of what it's called) a game that I haven't played since living in San Francisco! The people working here are pretty chill (as long as you're chill) some days though they make you pay upfront which is fine but a little inconvenient when you order as you go. Shoutout to security who is always welcoming! the food menu is limited but it does seem to change based on the few times we've come. Don't forget to check-in to claim your free shot! Also shoutout to Hao, because he's been putting those music events together!

Definitely a cool spot that popped up in Alhambra. We came on a Thursday night and there was a live band playing from 10-12am then a DJ 12-2am. I was pleasantly surprised at how diverse it was inside and it was a cool crowd. Cover was $10. They have imported beer and they have some generic cocktails. We had the Freestyle cocktail and it was a Maitai and I would recommend that. They only had one bartender, so the service was quite slow that day. The only negative for me was they allowed smoking inside, which was ironic because they have a led sign up for no smoking. So if you're sensitive to cigarettes, be aware of that there's smoking inside. Large parking lot, so parking wasn't an issue. Overall, fun spot. Staff were also pretty cool.

A confusing, but distinctly Chinese experience that was missing a few key ingredients. Came with family after a Chinese dinner (karaoke in a private room, anyone?) and wanted to continue the "high" but was disappointed with the vibes. It feels Chinese. It looks very cool in pictures (and I hear in films etc as backdrop), but is it actually fun? Uhhh... There's really no cocktails. It's too loud to hear each other. It's too loud to even play games (we tried playing dice and when you drop them--good luck finding them in the darkness under weird shaped tables). It's dark and loud but then the tables don't really have privacy so you're kind of out in the open (lounges would be more discreet). I think it was too late for food and they didn't have snack options. Boo. The alcohol menu was like beer, wine (why Caymus? So random), and liquor bottles (but not a lot to mix with it). The music was decent but it's almost like you'd have to be on drugs to enjoy it. And even though we were a random assortment, not dressed to party, we still got invited to drink with others (at their tables). Why? Because they were missing the key ingredients in these clubs (that China always has): party girls. Clubs in China will offer free table service and entrance fees for a group of party people to raise the vibes and dance. Definitely needing that here. And some promoters. So night club vibes with restaurant menus and lounge seating. Pass.

Beautiful decor... lots of red and gold, cute artificial Sakura trees... art pieces on various walls and statues throughout. Feels like a nightclub but more calm than it looks. I appreciate the effort made toward ambiance. They offer limited finger foods and alcohol... good customer service. Don't like that they allow smoking inside despite all the No Smoking signage... band wasn't bad, particularly the male singer was pretty good... but why slow ballads? Why slow sappy songs... it was Chinese New Year on a Saturday night... but did appreciate the DJ... however disappointingly low crowd... where's the love at, SGV!! This place deserves more love... maybe they need to promote more? Consider marketing to non-Asians too... and hire a more diverse staff... if this place was located in DTLA, Ktown, Santa Monica or West Hollywood, it would be lit. Location is everything. In any case, appreciate the hospitality!

This place is a hidden gem!!!!! We just hosted our parents' anniversary dinner here and this place has got it all. It's a modern Chinese vibe with a stage, sound system, lounge booths with easy to order food with QR code. They were very accommodating to our large party, food was ready in a timely manner, & they kindly delivered on all requests. Thank you, Jianghu, for making this night special for our parents.

Love this place. Really great music and cool vibes. Feels like I'm in ancient China except with food and dubs. The sound system is amazing.

Came here to see Madeye Moody play on a Thursday night. Wasn't sure what to expect and I am leaving kinda confused as to what this place is supposed to be. The place is definitely themed and well decorated. The drinks were a good size and not too expensive. The service was also great - really friendly and attentive. I don't know if it is just because it is a Thursday night but the place was basically empty :(. I guess I just don't really get what they are going for. There are a ton of tables since they serve real food here, but they have a DJ and clubbing lights. I don't really see a defined dance floor either. Overall, a really cool place but would probably only come back for the band bc they were great!

I have been way too busy to keep up with my reviews lately, but I felt compelled to write one for Jianghu Bistro. I came here this past Friday night (9/10/21) and had a complete blast. This might be my new favorite bar in all of Los Angeles. The vibes and atmosphere are truly one of a kind. I believe this club/bar/restaurant just opened, but you wouldn't think so based on the service. I couldn't believe how quick and efficient the ordering/payment process was, or how fast the food/drinks came out. All of the servers we interacted with were very friendly, helpful, and accommodating, as well. We arrived around 10:15pm, and most of the tables were still open. It did start to fill up a little once the DJ started, but the space itself is huge, so finding a table here shouldn't be an issue (at least for now, while this place is still brand new). Every table seemed to be having a great time. The energy/ambience is really on point. The music started to get a little too loud as we were finishing our last round, but the DJ was good. My only real complaint about Jianghu is the pricing. 4 small bottles of Tsingtao came out to ~$42 (after tax/tip), which is about $10.50 per beer. They are listed as $8 on the menu, but they charge an automatic 20% tip on every order. I didn't see any IPAs on the menu. There is a small discount if you buy beer by the dozen, which most of the tables were doing. If it wasn't just the two of us, we probably would have done that. Aside from the drinks, the food here is actually surprisingly great for a late night spot. I thought the spicy beef dish that we ordered was exceptional, though again, quite pricey for the quantity. Between the decor, atmosphere, drinks, food, and impeccable service, I loved my first experience at Jianghu Bistro. I really cannot wait to come back. I only wish I lived closer, and that the prices were just a little bit lower. Each table also comes with a fairly simple dice game (I forget the name), which I hadn't played since I visited Chengdu. It definitely added a lot of fun. Next time, I will come with a larger group.

I have never been to a club/bar with food this good! I love how authentic the food is and how they aren't afraid to add dishes that make it authentic like pork ears and duck heads. The Dan Dan noodles are to die for and the dumplings are really good as well! They often have live performances as well. I love the decor and general quality here! Definitely worth checking it out!

Went to a standup comedy show and it was disappointing. Granted they tried to make it interest with its decor but the show is bad. No one was funny. It costs $50 a person with advertised with meal included but the show only ran an hr when it supposed to be 2 hrs. I guess I should feel lucky given how bad the "comedians" are. I'd give them a pass since it's first time but cannot excuse the restaurant . Saying $50 with meal but all we got is stale beef fried rice after waiting an hour and a half. The show was already done for half an hr by that time. They also only bring it out because we asked about food multiple times. I wonder if the rice is leftovers because the beef is dry as jerky. The rice is salty. I don't know how the restaurant is normally but buyer beware. That's all I have to say

My crew and I went on a Friday night, and even though it was very busy, we were seated fairly quickly. Chicken Fried Rice: It was soft and pillowy with great flavor, though I felt it could have used a bit more color. It looked a little pale, but it was still delicious. Shanghai-Style Chow Mein: This was perfect. The flavor was spot on, the sauce was well-balanced, and the noodles had the ideal texture. The ratio of noodles, vegetables, and meat was just right. Sweet and Sour Chicken: This was the highlight for me. My only regret is not ordering more to take home. The chicken was crispy without being overdone, and it was coated in that delicious sweet and sour sauce. Juicy Pork Dumplings: We were at a dumpling house, so we had to order dumplings. These did not disappoint. They were very flavorful, and the broth inside was rich and satisfying. We originally planned to order more dishes, but the portions were generous, and we ended up with just the right amount to leave satisfied. Overall, this place lives up to the hype. Been here a few times now. The only bad experience I had was when they first opened. Their hours…read morewere messy. Went 3 times and it was always closed lol Every visit after was pleasant. We got seated pretty quickly even when they were busy. My most recent visit, the foods improved so much. We got a ribeye. I tried a piece and literally wanted the whole plate to myself lol it was so juicy and so tender!! The salted fish fried rice without chicken was delicious. It wasn't so salty. The rice was perfectly cooked. Bolognese was tasty. It was also not that salty. Perfecto amount of sauce and cheese. The vermicelli was surprisingly better than it looked. I wasn't expecting much from it. However, I noticed I kept eating it hahha The lemon iced tea was a let down. Even though they offered refills, but there were white stuff flowing around. The staff didn't even have an explanation for it. He even mistakenly took it for some passion fruit drinks and said it was some sugar they used. Right when I told him it was lemon iced tea, he said let me change it out for you. He came back, but the drink still looked somewhat weird. I took a sip and toss the whole cup. Seating could be a bit dirty. Will return for the ribeye hehhe hopefully the quality will be the same or even better

Hong Kong Cafe is located at the Atlantic Times Square in Monterey Park. This was my first time…read morehere. Parking was a little challenging. I had to be patient and just wait it out until someone left. It wasn't long until I snatched a parking spot. Wow, what a neat and cool looking restaurant! Upon entry, I felt as though I was actually in a restaurant in Hong Kong. I did take-out instead of dine-in, but I'll have to come back to have a dine-in experience. It should be interesting and intriguing for sure. I ordered 4 dishes and 1 drink over the phone. My order was already ready when I got here. Cool beans! Everything was delicious especially the lamb stew... it wasn't gamey or anything. Vermicelli had really good wok flavor. The chow and lo mein dishes were one of the best ever eaten. Quite authentic dishes! Lastly, red bean ice was so good especially with ice cream... yummy! HomeStyle Sauteed Vermicelli Lamb Stew w/ Bean Curd Sheet Hot Pot Tomato Beef Chow Mein Wonton & Beef Brisket Lo Mein Red Bean Shaved Ice w/ Ice Cream Staff was nice and helpful. Prices were on the higher end, but quality foods come with a price. All good. Unfortunately and I don't know how I forgot to take photos of the dishes. All I got was the red bean. I'll have to snap them next time. Perhaps it will be when I dine-in. Can't wait!
