We ordered 3 different style pastries (2 savory and 1 sweet) and found all of them to be average. They were all pretty dense and had really thin layers of filling inside, which was disappointing given they were $7 each! The location is cute, but given the quality of the pastries I'm not sure I'll be back.

Amazing authentic Turkish food and desserts! The staff are super friendly and the service is great (the plates are especially cute, too). Amazing authentic Turkish food and desserts! The staff are super friendly and the service is great (the plates are especially cute, too). tried the traditional Turkish breakfast (serpme) and it was incredible. My favorite was the menemen (omelette), but everything else was delicious as well. The only downside is that the portion size for the serpme (the traditional Turkish breakfast) didn't quite feel like it justified the price, but it still wasn't too bad overall. If you go, I highly suggest the cheesecake. It comes with melted chocolate that you pour over the top--it tastes amazing! If you go, I highly suggest the cheesecake. Nice little spot to stop for food and coffee. Staff were very friendly and helpful in offering advice on the menu. Had the Sujuk & Eggs which was a scrambled egg with Turkish sausage that tasted great and the sausage had the right amount of spice. No, it's not hot, just has spice. Also had the Turkish latte which had a nice kick that you would expect from this style of coffee. Great place and would recommend if you're in the area.

How wonderful to find high-quality authentic Turkish food in the seattle area!! I stopped in on a whim and couldn't have been more pleased. I can't recommend the lentil soup, muhammara, or carrot and garlic appetizer enough! Everything we had here was delicious and we need to go back to try more! The cheesecake was a DREAM and I've told my husband he needs to get me a full Berna's cheesecake for my birthday. Also if you have never had an authentic Turkish Delight, this is the place to try them. I wish Berna's nothing but success and will be making the trek from seattle to eat here again soon.

I absolutely loved my experience at Berna's Bakery! The food was amazing, especially the Turkish breakfast, everything was fresh, delicious, and beautifully served. I really appreciate that all the food is halal, which makes this place even more special. The atmosphere inside was incredibly cozy and warm. From the moment I walked in, I felt welcomed like I was at home. The staff was kind and friendly, and the whole place had such a comforting vibe. I will definitely be coming back and recommending this bakery to everyone!

I really enjoyed this spot! The menu is a little different, so I wasn't exactly sure how to order, and the checkout girl wasn't able to explain the dishes. My only critique would be to provide guests with a bit more guidance on what each dish includes. For example, I didn't realize the eggs came with bread, so I ordered pastries as well. That being said, the food was amazing! Everything I ordered was delicious, so I think you really can't go wrong here. Once more photos are posted of the menu items it will be much easier to visually see the options, so I added mine to help you. :)

Great food and service. Bread is freshly baked by owner every day. Nice to have this gem in Gilman square

The food was good, but the service was extremely disappointing. From the very first minute the staff were unfriendly, almost as if I owed them something. I was also overcharged -- I paid $33 for two coffees and one pastry, and since they don't provide a receipt, you have no idea what you're actually being charged for. Later, when I ordered another dish, the waitress came over and said she had "just realized" that I had been overcharged earlier because they added a dish that didn't belong to me. She never showed me a receipt, never told me how much I overpaid, and I still have no information about when or if I'll get my refund. When I was leaving, no one said a word -- they literally turned their faces away. The whole atmosphere felt unpleasant and unprofessional. And the ironic part is that I had left a generous tip at the beginning.

Berna's is phenomenal! The closest I've had to traditional home cooked Turkish dishes since Istanbul. The place is open, airy, and beautiful. Even when it's busy, it never felt like a long wait- the ladies came by and made sure we were filled on tea. It's popular for a reason! I've been a few times and had the pastries, but this time I was blown away by the breakfast platter. My happy place truly is with family and friends enjoying Turkish tea with warm bread, fresh fruit and honey after sharing eggs and sides. Savory: - Eggs with Sujuk (Turkish spiced sausage- the best!!) - Olives - Hummus - Menemen (Turkish eggs) - 3 cheeses Sweet: - Fresh fruit - fresh cream with honey and honeycomb - incredible homemade blueberry AND apricot compote Included also Turkish tea or coffee and the most incredible assortment of homemade breads including soft loaves and simit (like a bagel)

It was basically cheap minced beef wrapped around kebab skewers. I couldn't finish it, and my stomach isn't feeling great tonight. The service was awful. They basically dropped the food at our table, and no one checked on us to see if we needed anything until it was time to pay. The ladies' restroom was flooded with toilet water, which tells me a lot about their hygiene standards. I had a good experience here a couple of years ago, but I would never eat here again or recommend this place to my friends.

We understand that the restaurant was busy, so we patiently waited for a table. However, after being seated and placing our order, we waited another 20-30 minutes for our food to arrive. While the food was good, the service was extremely slow. The most frustrating part happened when we ordered an extra pancake for our child. Our server told us to pay for it when we were leaving, which sounded fine. After waiting another 20-30 minutes, we went to the cashier only to be told that we should have ordered it at the front counter. If that had been explained to us earlier, we could have done so right away and avoided wasting more time. The food was enjoyable, but the poor communication and slow service left us disappointed. Sadly, this is the second time we've had the same experience.
