Loved my experience at Rabble. I actually liked Tin Comet when it was in this spot, but Rabble did a super nice makeover of the place. It feels clean and comfortable while still retaining the charm retro-vibe of the neighborhood. I had the cafe miel (iced with soy) and it's fantastic. I don't usually go in for flavored drinks, but this one is great. The only cons with this place are parking is difficult and it's really a sit-down and stay awhile type place. Getting a coffee before work with only one-barista on staff can be difficult. read more

Josie the owner is amazing! This gem was found when a friend talked me into attending a Trade School event to introduce the new semesters classes. She will help you decide if you are undecided and is always welcoming! This shop also hosts numerous events and displays local art work that rotates. I tend to always order the same drink and the quiche. Sometime I will branch out with my drink choice. I look forward to all my Trade School events so I have a reason to venture to the East side of town. read more

I love this coffee shop. It's small, but very comfortable and theres plenty of room to work alone or have a drink with a friend. The prices are great, and the few coffee drinks I've had are lovely. The chai tea is amazing. I also cannot say enough about the quiche. It melts in your mouth like custsrd. Josie is so friendly and welcoming. They also host Trade School Indianapolis now so pop in and get a cuppa before class! read more

This is my first time at Rabble and I really like the location. I had no idea this littler near-east side neighborhood existed. Rabble is a small yet cozy shop that is reminiscent of my grandparent's place. There is a record player in the corner with a stack of records that guests can presumably choose from (I'm a big fan of this style of music playing as long as there aren't prolonged periods of silence). I went with my classic choice, an americano. Rabble uses Tinker Street beans which I've always been a big fan of. The americano isn't quite as smooth as others I've had using Tinker but the great flavor is still present. This is quite a nice place to meet someone to chat as there are mostly two seater tables here. Although they have a couch and a big leather chair, I would definitely recommend more "comfy" chairs for people to hang out and read. I really hope this cool little coffee shop attracts more businesses to this cool area! read more

Very excited for Rabble Coffee! I came by in the afternoon of opening day and although the staff was exhausted, they still greeted customers with a smile and great service. The co-owners even took care to check the labels on the ingredients for their sandwiches when I informed them of my food allergy. I had a turkey Panini which was tasty and filling. Not a coffee drinker so I can't give any tips there. Great atmosphere, great service, and a great addition to its neighborhood. read more

***2nd Wave-ish Coffee Alert*** Some may find this place artistic, I think it's dirty. Not dirty in a crude way, more like dirty in a mess way. It's like getting coffee at a non-profit shop in the basement of a run down church. The building just doesn't seem clean. The lighting is not great. I gotta admit when I saw the reviews of the place on Yelp I got excited. I was more excited when I saw a photo of them using Tinker Coffee (the best roaster in the state). I was super stoked to enjoy a nice pour-over, or press-pot coffee. However, I was duped. The shop is stuck in 2nd Wave for the most part. Only drip coffee available, espresso on old gear, and cold brew that tasted like it was steeped in sugar and non-fat milk. They even had a kalita wave hanging on a hook, but still no pour-overs available! Not enjoyable at all. All-in-all the service was nice, and if you don't know a lot about coffee you'll probably enjoy this place. It just wasn't for me. Go somewhere else. read more

Neighborhood coffee shop with a friendly vibe, fresh doughnuts, and delicious coffee. The artful plate of fresh doughnuts distracted me from a coffee quick stop. We opted for the blackberry/grapefruit, mystery doughnut, and pistachio and decided to pull up a chair and relax. The doughnuts were not overly sweet which was a pleasant surprise, were fluffy and fresh with a unique taste which made me happy we decided to try 3 different flavors. We split among ourselves for a sample of each. Mocha was delicious. The coffee shop is one I would definitely enjoy curling up with a laptop in one of the cute chaise in the back. For a caffeine quick stop I was most impressed with the calm, welcoming vibe. A huge shout out for the neighborhood feel and community workshops. This makes it a 5 star addition to the neighborhood and a worthy local business to make a few extra turns to visit for my coffee. Rabble is the epitome of the Indianapolis revival. Located in an area on the upswing, mostly locally-sourced, including locally-roasted coffee and local pastries and donuts. Rabble partners with Indiana Trade School, an organization that provides classes in an array of categories, with tuition on a barter system. Proprietress Josie is almost always at the helm and makes every visit a delight. I like trying her frequently changing specials. I always go with her suggestion. She always offers to make me something else if I'm not happy with it, but I haven't taken her up on it yet and I can't imagine I will. Every drink is perfection. I've even seen her taste my drink with a clean spoon before she serves it, like a chef. That kind of attention to quality is not lost on me. I love this place. read more

Went in for my first time today! Such a neat place with a homie eclectic feel. They also provide parking in the back. The staff was super friendly, I clearly looked like a newbie but they made me feel welcome! I was able to use my own cup too! There's an awesome community board right by the front door that encourages people to get involved with the neighborhood! Yay for human connection! The maple latte was perfect for this snowy day. This is one of my favorite weekend hangouts. The coffee is good, the atmosphere is relaxed. There's almost always good music playing. I wish they had a few more baked snacks to tempt me a little more. They play board games here Friday evenings once in a while (check their Facebook page). read more

I was 3-4 miles north of Rabble Coffee for an all-day training and needed a caffeine fix to make it through the afternoon. There aren't any coffee shops close to the meeting location so I had the choice to drive north to order Starbucks or drive 8 minutes south and try out a locally owned coffee shop. I try to support locally owned coffee shops as much as possible so I decided to try out Rabble Coffee. There is parking in the rear but I opted to park in one of the many empty spaces in front. The coffee shop definitely embodies the vibe that comes with the revitalization happening nearby -- I found the place to be cozy and inviting. The barista was very helpful when I shared it was my first visit. Even though they had a few very tasty sounding seasonal drinks, I opted for an americano as I can't really drink the cute seasonal drinks anymore after cutting out sugar, milk, and creamer from my coffee. The americano was great. I would definitely return in future especially since I signed up for one of their visit punch cards. read more

Great new spot. The coffee was excellent, I had the house brew and my wife had the bee roasters. Both were good, but I prefer the house roast. We each had a quiche, and both were great. The crust is really incredible. And at less than $4 it's quite the deal. They've done a good job with the decor, and it is a funky space so it looks like they're still figuring out what to do with the back space. I feel like I should always give Critique so here it is, the medium coffee is quite small. That being said, I do wonder if the medium I ordered might have been a small. I'll know on the next visit. Rabble is a great, locally owned coffee shop! The owner knows how to treat customers properly and how to run a business, and is great at what she does. The atmosphere is great, (they still play vinyl) the coffee is always hot and fresh, but above all Rabble are great community supporters. They've provided canisters of coffee and hot water, for tea and hot chocolate, with all the fixings (cups lids sleeves cream and sugar) free of charge, for the after-school poetry program at Washington Irving Community School, IPS 14, in conjunction with NEEA (Near Eastside Education Americorps) and The John H Boner Center. I was meeting with the school's principal just yesterday to discuss ways to show our appreciation. So, until then I just want to say thank you Rabble for being a good neighbor. read more
