I met with Mr. Sahdev in 2020 for the safe removal of 4 amalgam fillings using the SMART removal technique from IAOMT at his location in Palo Alto and I would like to inform others who may be looking for the same service to save your money, health, and time and keep looking for another dentist who takes this specialty seriously. Mr Sahdev clearly took shortcuts in the protocol for safe amalgam removal and exposed me to high levels of mercury (a know neurotoxin) right before I was looking to start a family. I contacted him when I obtained my lab work demonstrating extremely high levels of mercury 6 months after he had removed my fillings to inform him, but he denied doing anything wrong. I have since reported this incident to the organization who lists him as a dentist certified in SMART Amalgam removal. He also worked on crown for my husband which failed a year later. Our new dentist informed us that there wasn't enough tooth left for the crown and that he wasn't sure why the dentist wasn't upfront about that. He has now had a dental implant placed by a new dentist and is doing well but sadly i was not so lucky and my health has suffered. read more

Palo Alto Dentist has taken care of my dental work for the past couple of years. Each one of my visits only brings satisfaction. Dr. Sahdev implements a family module into his philosophy, he treats patients as his own. Dr. Sahdev has guided and provided knowledge that go beyond the dental visit itself. He has take home guides for oral hygiene and supply a toothbrush, floss and toothpaste after each cleaning visit. Most importantly, he takes a preventative approach to dental care, I can thank him for the oral hygiene techniques that I continuously implement into my daily/nightly routine. While he does his part, I hold myself accountable and use his advice to my advantage. I'm glad that I put my trust in his care, I appreciate his enthusiasm and passion for dental care. In the mist of the pandemic and still continually they require patients fill out symptoms and take temperatures before entering the clinic; both of which are refreshing and comforting. I'm a firm believer that in healthcare, teamwork is the core of everything, this allows for the best plan of care for each patient outcome. His dental assistants are a mere reflection of the above; Christine and Tiffany are both personable and empathetic towards patients. Last but not least, the clinic takes several insurances. I will say that insurances are always a hassle but Christine has a great handle on all things insurance, this relieves a lot of stress on the patient's end. Dr. Sahdev and his team - Christine and Tiffany, are amazing! I have been a patient for almost a year and have had dental cleaning, multiple fillings and even a root canal procedure done here. Each time I go in I have a great experience and feel confident that I will be getting the most appropriate and professional treatment. I am not a huge fan of getting dental work done but Dr. Sahdev and Christine have always made me feel at ease. With regards to Covid, the clinic is taking all the necessary precautions they could to make sure patients feel comfortable and safe. I have been a patient at Dr. Sahdev's office for over 10 years and can say with certainty that he is the best in the business. His calm and composed demeanor puts me at ease every time I go in for a procedure. During one of my very first visits he had to numb my mouth prior to filling a cavity; I didn't even feel the needle prick my gum!! Over the years he has pulled all 4 of my wisdom teeth, recommended me to an equally qualified orthodontist for braces, and performed numerous cleanings. Dr. Sahdev's office is always extremely clean and clutter-free and is decorated with some wonderful paintings that the doctor painted himself! Almost every other dental office I've been to has exposed cables/wires on the floors and papers/files all over the place. Dr. Sahdev does all the work himself which is pretty rare these days. Most other dentists I've been to use dental hygienists to perform the majority of the work and the actual dentist only spends 5-10 minutes with you. He is straightforward with you and tells you exactly what you need/don't need. Over 10 years he has never upsold me on any procedure that I didn't actually need. What I could have done differently: I should have spoken up - even with the frustration of the situation - and said something about my discomfort. I should have stopped the procedure and voiced my opinion, I can take responsibility for that. Also, just because Dr. Sahdev was too clinical for my taste, he seems to be perfect for others. I'm moved by his reaching out, and don't want to mire his chances with new patients, because of the bad experience I had. I'm changing the number of stars, because he was a class act about my experience. I will re-write my review as a pro/con list... ----- Cons: 1. Rough procedure (2 cavities filled, and some other filling/composite work). It felt like a jackhammer in my head. 2. Very clinical - need more interpersonal communication with more personality 3. Used an awful plastic insert in my mouth to keep me from closing my mouth. I have been seeing Dr. Sahdev for just over 5 years, but I recently moved and switched dentists as a result. I enjoyed my time being a patient of his. He's very polite, friendly, and makes great conversation. His dental assistants have also been very friendly. Dr. Sahdev's offices are among the most clean and well kept of any I've ever been. I began my dental treatment with Dr. Sahdev back in 2016. At the age of 26, I had received sub par dental care for the majority of my life. Me and my husband are going to this dentist and are fully satisfied with the service. He extracted my wisdom teeth, and I felt absolutely no pain during or after the surgery. At anytime he is very professional, warm, mild-mannered, and pays great attention to the comfort of his clients (he even called me after the surgery to make sure eveything was ok). His assistant is very nice too (she calls one day before the appointments to remind me). The office is very clean, modern. You can watch TV before and during the treatment. The regular cleaning is as good as the rest. Since the doctor is new at Palo Alto, he has not many patients yet and it is very easy to have an appointment at any time. The prices are exaclty what our dental insurance indicates as the average price for the area. read more

The dentist did a beautiful job taking care of my neglected mouth.I hadn't been to a dentist for many years and was a mouth breather, so I had tons of plaque on my my teeth and a whole lot of cavities. They figured out a good plan to take care of all of my dental problems in a systematic way and also considered what I could afford.( hey when you haven't been to the dentist for about ten years the cost can add up!) I was made very comfortable at every appointment and after the difficult appointments like extractions the doc personally called me to see how I was doing. My teeth now look like new. I was referred to this dentist by a friend who was raving about him. I had a lot of missing teeth and had a miserable time of eating, always soft sloppy food, because I couldn't chew properly. This dentist took me from beginningh to end from literally no teeth to dental implant with teeth on top. The whole process took about one and a half years and it wasn't easy but I ended up with a fabulous set of teeth which are fixed in my jaw, ( I don't have to remove them) I am so thankful to Dr Sadev, I feel he transformed my life! I now feel more confident, I can smile,laugh and I am eating great meals, steaks, chicken, corn on the cob, apples. I found this dentist through my insurance carrier when I was lokking for a dentist to take care of an excruciating tooth pain that I had on my back molar. Turns out that I had fractured my tooth and I needed a root canal and a crown. I was terrified of having a root canal but the dentist put me at ease and calmed me down. The procedure took about 2 hours but to be honest I wasvery numbfrom the anesthetic and hardly felt anything. The after pain was managed by Ibuprofen and I'm going back for my crown next week. The Doc called me the next day to see how I wasdoing ( No dentist has done that for me before ) and he just seemed very caring. The payment was just based on my insurance companies fee schedule and seemed reasonable. I am sending my girlfriend to get her front tooth fixed next week. read more

I've been going this dental office for 2years now and always had a good experience. The doctor takes Delta Dental PPO and charges according to the Delta fee schedule so there are very few surprises. Once, though i had overpaid and i received a refund check from them a few weeks later. Dr Ravi is very detailed and always gives a full assessment at the end of the appointment.The assistant is very friendly and willing to help out.
