If you can believe, I am an old dental dinosaur of a patient :) Like lets say there was a Jurassic Park for dental patients, well I would be in there. Well what I mean is, I have been coming to this exact location since the 1970s as a pre teen and a teenager. It was originally run by Dr. Levin, and later Dr. Clark took it over. Once he retired a few years back, this great dental team are the new owners. I have been coming here ever since the change, and I love it! So as you can tell, I am NOT an anti dentite! ;-) This office are caring, nice, friendly people. They are just great dental professionals all around!! If you are looking for a new dentist and team, look no further, they are here to take care of all your dental needs. Located on Middlefield Road in the midtown area of Palo Alto, It is literally up the road from Los Altos and Mountain View, and and just South of downtown Palo Alto. So as you can see, it is very convenient. It is located to all mid peninsula towns, and close to both interstate highway 101 and highway 280. Now you may not get a tooth fairy to drop you off a dollar bill under your pillow for your visit, nor candies for being a good patient, but who cares we are all adults now! :) What you will get here is great service! Mix that with your sparkling teeth, and virtually a pain free" experience, could you ask for anything more?! :) So what can I say about these great caring dentists and their office staff, assistants and hygienists, except they exude excellence!! I just cannot say enough great things about this whole team. Why? For crying out loud I already did, are you not following me?! Lol So the next time your "pearly greys or pearly yellows" need attention, go make a visit. Listen your teeth will thank you for the trip! The dentist and hygienists are very knowledgeable and customer focused, and really care about their patients. The Staff Admin are very good responsive and friendly. We have been delighted with the expert care and friendliness of this practice for years. That continues since the retirement of Dr Clark. It's such a happy office with friendly staff. It's a place we have always looked forward to visiting (yes, really, the dentist!). I have been so impressed with how Drs Collins and Mingrone have handled their takeover of this long established office and the long term patients. Lynda remains the simply the greatest (and most expertly trained) hygenist of all time. Not just great with our teeth, but great with my soul and spirit. I always feel better having seen her and caught up for a visit. She's a true blessing. Covid made us nervous about going to the dentist. There is no need to worry about that here. With professional masking, shields, goggles, special room purifiers, sealed doorways, open windows, etc, etc, etc. SUPER SAFE! And, after doing some research, not a single local case of covid has been traced to a patient from their dental visit. Feel safe, and feel COMPLETELY SAFE with Drs Collins & Mingrone,DDS. The FRIENDLINESS and quality of dental care is as strong as ever. Both Drs Collins and Mingrone are at the top of their game and are familiar with trends in care and are there to keep your teeth healthy and help save you money in the short term and the long tern. No crazy up-selling of products or services of questionable benefit. The shake-up with Delta Dental (no longer accepted) and the fact that we now pay in cash and seek reimbursement is a complaint of a problem for their practice that has become a problem for me, but often these squabbles with insurance are temporary. It's something I'll keep an eye on. At this point it's no reason to leave what I know and like. Fingers crossed they can get that worked out. read more

I have been coming to this business location for 3 decades too. Dental care with Dr. Levin, Dr. Clark and my longtime, very professional dental hygienist Rochelle, has always been excellent. The office continues its good vibe history with Dr. Collins and Dr. Mingrone. I'm so glad I didn't transfer out to another practice when Dr. Clark retired. I've had care with both dentists (Collins & Mingrone), but mostly with Dr. Mingrone. I'm one of those patients who have all 4 Wisdom teeth in and all are crowned by Dr. Levin and/or Dr. Clark. Now, Dr. Mingrone has inherited caring for them; I just had attention to one of my Wisdom teeth this morning. It can't be easy to get to those wisdom teeth. Also, a big shout out to Cindy and the rest of the clinic staff. It's a wonderful staff and I am always warmly greeted. read more

We've been going to Dr Collins and Dr Mingrone since they took over the practice about 8 years ago. I have always had a wonderful experience there from the front desk staff to the dental hygienists and doctors. I have had to reschedule many appointments (unfortunately) and they have always been kind and understanding. While they don't specialize in children per se, my kids love going there. They each started going at 2 or 3 and are now 5 and 7. Rochelle, our hygienist, is a true natural with kids and keeps them entertained and engaged. I like that they don't have screens above the chair to distract kids. I want my kids to know what's going on and why it's important to be there and take care of their teeth. I know different families have different needs, but this has been a wonderful experience for us and my kids are building a great relationship with their dental hygiene. read more

If you are looking for a dentist, I highly recommend Collins & Mingrone. I had been a long time patient of Dr Dean Clark and when Collins & Mingrone took over his practice when he retired in March 2018, I did consider switching to another dentist as I had moved away from Palo Alto. However, the main reason why I decided to go with Collins & Mingrone was because I wanted to keep Lynda as my dental hygienist. Lynda has a wonderful personality and is an exceptional hygienist. My experience with Bridget Collins and Daniel Mingrone (they are married) has been very positive - both are friendly compassionate people and, in my opinion, excellent dentists. In August 2018 Lynda and Dr Collins identified an issue that warranted a referral to a periodontist for an evaluation. Lynda saved me a bunch of money when she suggested a deep cleaning treatment versus the more expensive laser treatment that the periodontist tried to sell me after referring me to an endodontist for a root canal. The endodontist had to drill through an existing crown to perform the root canal and that over time resulted in a dull ache "discomfort". After 3 fillings had been completed in July 2021 this exacerbated the discomfort so I left a voicemail at the office (not realizing that the office was closed as both Drs Collins and Mingrone were on vacation). Dr Mingrone promptly called me which I found impressive when I found out he was on vacation. He suggested that I gargle with warm salt water (which worked in alleviating the discomfort) and provided me with the contact information for the dentist that had been designated as his standby (which fortunately I didn't need). Subsequent x-rays did not reveal anything wrong but in October 2021 Dr Mingrone determined that the crown (covering the tooth that had been subject to a root canal) should be replaced and in so doing detected that there had been quite a bit of tooth decay underneath the crown. Unfortunately for me (as I have no dental insurance) this was the second crown that needed to be replaced. The first (a gold crown) had fractured and fallen off while I was visiting the UK (so much for gold crowns lasting a lifetime!). Furthermore, in both cases the temporary crown broke and fell off so I was extremely grateful that the office was able to expedite a same day appointment to have the temporary crowns restored. In both cases Vanessa did a fantastic job in stepping in at short notice to replace the temporary crowns. I am still waiting for someone to come up with a drill that doesn't make that high pitched whining noise that reminds me of the Dustin Hoffman (is it safe?) scene in the Marathon Man movie. Fortunately, Dr Mingrone is highly skilled and I didn't feel any pain when he replaced both my crowns in October and November 2021. So given the amount of dental work that I have experienced over the past year, I feel eminently qualified to enthusiastically recommend Drs Collins & Mingrone. They have taken a modern day approach (which includes texting the relevant forms that need to be completed on the day of the appointment) and implemented appropriate Covid 19 protocols to ensure the safety of their patients. read more

I have loved being a patient with this office. They are one of the few medical offices that seems to have their processes buttoned up. They really engage and keep up on the details of you as a person. I have been extremely impressed at the care they give, the memory of previous conversations and what is going on in my life.
