We have had excellent past experiences with Jaguar and Land Rover of South Bay. This most recent one was no exception. In fact, my dealing with T.C. Collins was exceptional. He was very knowledgable about the vehicle, professional and courteous to the max. On a test drive, he proudly pointed out the amazing features and handling. Our negotiations were straightforward, and they gave a very fair price for my trade-in as well as current incentives. I would wholeheartedly recommend T.C. who even offered to stop by our home if there were any questions or issues with our Jag. Jaguar also has a program with QMerit that will cover the cost of the ChargePoint charger and the installation. This is an excellent time to buy or lease an EV with rebates from the federal government, as well as the State of California (if qualified) and SCE, too. We have also had excellent service experiences with Nate and the service staff for Jaguar and Land Rover (another plus;)!

As a family-run business, they made us feel comfortable throughout the entire process and never pressured us into making a decision. They took the time to work with our financial needs and helped make the purchase fit our budget. What really stood out was their commitment to customer satisfaction. They repaired a tire that needed attention and even ordered a replacement tow cover for the front bumper after the sale. It's clear they care about their customers and stand behind the vehicles they sell. If you're looking for an honest dealership with great service and a no-pressure atmosphere, I highly recommend Hawthorne Motor Express.

Purchasing the vehicle was an easy process. We offered full cash for the vehicle and asked if the price would be negotiable, there was little to no wiggle room, so we did half cash and half finance. Drove the vehicle home the same day. On Thanksgiving evening (on our way out) the transmission went out while on the freeway. Car was loaded with the entire family, had to get the car towed to the mechanic while Ubering to our destination. We spent a couple thousand dollars in fixing the transmission, and a few hundred bucks on the tow truck along with the uber on Thanksgiving night. We haven't driven the truck for even 1000 miles and already replaced the transmission, which gives this place a 1 star rating. We did not call when the transmission went out, didn't think we'd get any consideration since we were considered owners of the vehicle already. However, we called 1-week after they responded to our google review and until today, we have not received follow up. If a follow up is received, I will post an update. The entire family was friendly and helpful throughout the purchasing process. My conclusion on this experience: I purchased a used vehicle at Hawthorne Motors Express and the transmission went out 3 months after owning it. *we are proud owners of 2 previously owned vehicles, which were purchased from Enterprise Car Sales. I know where I'll be going for my next car.

I saw this car online, it fit the bill for what I was looking for. I called in to inquire about it. Spoke for several minutes with a man named Peter. Peter stated at the end of the call that he wanted to help me, I just had to come up with x amount of dollars for the down-payment and take care of the insurance and we would be good to go. I told him it was going go take some time to save that amount of money, and it did. In the meantime he texted me on at least 3 different occasions afterward, asking me if I had the money yet. I told him no, not yet. Finally I was able to save the money, and was ready to look at the car and possibly buy it. Pete tells me it's at a storage location in long Beach and that I could go look at it "they wouldn't give me any problem". I go over there, there is no staff to show Me the car. He says to talk to someone named "Mr martin". Instead I get a call/text from someone named Jules. I later learn that Mr Martin and Jules are the same person. I miss the call and Jules martin doesn't call back. We kept trying to get a hold of these guys to see the car but they didn't respond. We left and followed up the next day (saturday). They told me they wouldn't be in that day but to try setting up an appointment for Sunday. At this point I'm mainly speaking to Peter because Jules wasn't responding other than asking for a copy of my id. When texting Peter he says I probably won't get financed (forgetting our conversation a month ago). He also seemed to want me to deal with mr martin to make the deal. Later that night for some reason i got a group text. It was between peter and mr martin but i dont think he realized he had attached my number. In the text he told Mr martin to help me the next day and that I just needed proof of income. Mr martin responds with a derogatory, s.exist text calling me a disgusting bug because of my credit and saying they would drag me by the hair if needs be. (See attached image). Well...im pretty shocked. And disgusted. If this is how these people feel, do not do business with them. Mr martin is a crude individual that will take your money, talk trash and laugh while doing it. It is so sleazy. Makes you want to take a shower. Horrible. This guy really shouldn't have a job after this. Apparently he thinks it's funny to hurt women. It's really disgusting laughing about abuse. Fire that guy.

When I arrived, Nick, my Service Advisor set me up with an Uber to get home, while my tire was being replaced. When I picked my car up later that afternoon, I had a new tire, a clean car, & a full charge. I'm so thankful I added the tire package when I leased my car. Throughout the process, I was repeatedly told that everything was ready to move forward and that the paperwork had been prepared. Before making the drive, I specifically informed Karnel that my wife's driver's license renewal needed to be addressed and asked whether it would create any issues. I was told not to worry and that everything was fine. Based on those assurances, my wife, our two-year-old son, and I drove to the dealership expecting to complete the purchase. When we arrived, the experience was completely different from what had been represented. We were referred to sales manager Hector Morales, and instead of completing the transaction, we encountered delays, conflicting information, and what felt like the typical back-and-forth dealership tactics. After bringing my family to the dealership and spending our time there, we ultimately left without the vehicle we had been told was ready. I provided documentation showing strong income, so from my perspective, my financial qualifications were not the issue. The way the transaction was handled, however, was disorganized, inconsistent, and a complete waste of our time. What disappointed me most was how my family and I were treated. Based on my interactions with Hector Morales and Karnel Drake, I left feeling disrespected, singled out, and treated differently. Because of that experience, I believe I may have been subjected to discriminatory treatment. I am consulting legal counsel to determine whether what occurred violated my legal rights. I have preserved my emails, text messages, and other documentation relating to this transaction. No family should be told everything is ready, drive to a dealership with a two-year-old child, and then have their time wasted because the dealership was not actually prepared to complete the sale. Based on my experience, I will not return to Mercedes-Benz of South Bay, and I cannot recommend this dealership to others. There are many dealerships that value honesty, preparation, and respect for their customers' time. Unfortunately, this was not my experience here.
