Took our 2025 RX500h in today for the rear camera safety recall and was provided a courtesy vehicle to run errands throughout the day, thank you for the wheels. Poor experience with Dino at South Bay Lexus. Dino knew I was flying in to purchase a specific 2019 Lexus and he did not disclose the center dash trim panel was spray painted and done so without removing it from the car. This resulted in paint on the surrounding vents, hazard button and leather dashboard. To make matters worse it was starting to wear off showing patches of the original finish in the center of the dashboard. Dino tells me he did not notice it. However he never examined the problem in my presence nor did he even sit in the front seat leading me to believe he was fully aware of it. Instead, while I was examining the spray painted areas, Dino was trying to call my attention to other areas of the car. I've owned a few Lexus's in the past and always trusted the brand in quality and service. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. Everything that has happened less than thirty days after buying this car has been nothing short of horrible and South Bay Lexus has done absolutely nothing to make this right. I bought a used 2018 Toyota Rav4 from here on April 14th. I paid for an extended PLATNIUM warranty, as I know the risks of buying a used car. For two weeks, everything was perfect. Over this past weekend I noticed a booklet I had left on the passenger floor was soaking wet. Thought I had dropped a water bottle, but I drove onwards with just the AC on and no music/radio. Took a hard left turn and water gushed through the dash and out the passenger side onto the floor. This past Monday May 4th I called the sales department because it has been less than 30 days since I bought this car. The person who picked up gave me my previous Sales' Rep number and then hung up the phone on me as quick as he could. I left a message with David and have yet to hear anything back four days letter. On Tuesday I called the service department. The first person I spoke to at 10:30am said she was so sorry this was happening but they couldn't do a valet pick up of the car as I lived too far away. But if I could drive down that morning they could give me a loaner car and they'd take a look. Otherwise I'd have to wait until SATURDAY to get this fixed. I needed to confirm with my supervisor, as I am in the busiest two weeks of my life at my job right now. So I called back at 11:20am. The person I spoke to at 11:20am was a different person and she told me there was no loaner for me since I didn't buy a Lexus and they only give loaners to people who have Lexus cars. I requested to speak to manager and I was told the manager was at lunch but he'd call me back. Never got a call. I called back at 5:30pm and was told my case would be escalated to the director and he would call me the next day. Wednesday (yesterday) - I called AGAIN at 2:10pm as I had yet to receive a call from any manager. The woman I spoke to said she'd have a manager call me back. The person who finally called me back didn't call for almost an hour and a half and it wasn't even a manager, just a service worker. I asked if I could take my warranty elsewhere at this time and he confirmed I could (also this is a question I've asked multiple times at this point with no concrete answer). I immediately called Toyota Irvine last night and they fit me in this morning at 7:15am. By 9:30am I had a diagnostic confirmation that my evaporator drain hose is clogged and not serviceable. The video taken by the service department shows an alarming amount of water in my dashboard. Apparently any kind of hoses are not covered by the PLATINIUM WARRANTY I purchased and I'm now looking at a $330 payment to fix a hose on a car I bought LESS THAN A MONTH AGO. I still have yet to receive a phone call from anyone at Lexus answering my question of why they would sell a car with this problem and why they have done absolutely nothing to fix it or work within my constrained schedule. When I bought the car three weeks ago I was very upfront with why I needed to buy a car sooner as the first two weeks in May were hell. Instead of just focusing on my job I am fixing a problem that should never have happened. I would never recommend this place to anyone in Southern California. Apparently they only care if you buy a Lexus (even though they were the ones to sell me the Toyota) and apparently they don't care to solve any issues once they have your money. Or they'll bounce you around all over the company instead of just even acknowledging they made a mistake. After shopping for cars over the past month, I had the best ever in my life car shopping and purchasing experience with South Bay Lexus! I live in Las Vegas where every dealer tacks onto each sale high doc fees, worthless add ons, and will inflate the price to squeeze every penny out of you. After trying to purchase another car locally and getting sticker shock with the additional fees and add ons, I expanded my search into California. After dealing with a different California Lexus dealer and not coming to an agreement, I found that South Bay Lexus had a used ES 300h for sale. It was actually better in that it had more options, but had more miles as well than the other dealer. I called and worked with Amin. After checking to see if it was available and they would be able to sell the car to me being out of state, he confirmed that they would be happy to sell me the car. The store is a no-haggle dealership. The price you see is the price you pay (before all the necessary fees.) since the car was a CPO, it came with an extended warranty and free maintenance, so no worries there. I didn't feel that I needed to test drive it since I was confident in the dealership and the Lexus brand. Amin was great since I was pre-approved, within a day we signed the purchase agreement and had all the paperwork signed within a week. But one of the best parts of my adventure here, the dealer doc fee was $85 and I paid $25 for the state smog! That was it, $110 total in fees. I did pay local CA sales tax, but when I registered the car here in NV, I only had to pay the difference, nothing more. Additionally, there were no dealer add on fees! What a difference from the other dealers I dealt with. I decided that I would fly into LAX and drive the car back to LV the following Saturday. During that week, Amin was answering all my questions and was prompt in returning text messages/phone calls. After flying into LAX, Amin came and picked me up to take me to the dealership. Once I got to the dealership, the process was seamless. After signing some more docs and a tutorial on my new car, I was driving home to Vegas. I was in and out within 2 hours. The car drives like a dream and I love it! This goes out to my fellow Las Vegas residents, if you are shopping for a car, don't give the local dealers any more of your hard earned money. Buy it from a California dealer. Hopefully, if the local dealers start seeing the dip in sales, they will bring their prices down as well. When I mentioned and emailed about the payment that was already taken still with no car I was told Lexus financial would refund the payment. as for the car being returned before proceeding that's not was agreed to. The car was left at Lexus Carlsbad and has been repaired and then offered for sale again through Lexus South Bay. I wrote and asked how is it possible to offer and sell a car that is currently being financed. I took a screen shot and the next day the car was removed from the website. Another shady move in my opinion more dishonesty. I was email by Danny Hashimoto, with the title document for my trades in car and told I need to go to dmv or aaa to re-register to put my car back into my name. I replied to his email with more questions and have not been responded to again. There a still unresolved issues. The loan still needs to be rewound. Am on the hook for it and paying for a car that I do not have but do not have and was turned back over and signed for three weeks ago per what we agreed to. The loan payment that I paid on 10/10 needs to be refunded. I need to be reimbursed for the train and Lyft rides necessary to get back to South Bay Lexus to sign paperwork to rewind this mess and retrieve my car. Is there some reason I am being ignored and theses things are yet to be resolved and emails not responded to? What am I being treated as if you are doing me a favor when actually it is entirely your wrong doing by selling a car with the mechanical issues supposedly having passed your inspection prior. Update Was called by the managers to bring the car in to see what can be done. They sent me to tow truck free of charge to pick up the car from my home. It took about 2 months in the shop for me to get it back but it's understandable for what they did. So pretty much the car needed a new engine they were able to order me a used engine with about 18000 miles for the car and replaced the old one. It has been 2 months that I had the car with the engine with no problems. Southbay Lexus kept there word and fixed all the issues with vehicle. Relying on that representation, I accepted the offer and agreed to return that Friday with my pink slip to finalize the sale. When I arrived, I was abruptly told the value was now $16,000 -- justified by a baseless claim that a trade-in differs from an outright sale. This was a clear rescission of an accepted offer without cause or good faith. Chang admitted the inconsistency and so I left my vehicle overnight, assuring it would be corrected the next morning. I reached out to Enrique via email and his response was professional and not pushy. He offered his number and never pestered me for mine. He was to the point and no drama over email. After I felt comfortable with his email, we pretty much did all the paperwork legwork before we even went to the dealer...to expedite the process. He was quick to respond and stayed true to his word. We then headed over to the dealer the next day. What my gut feeling felt about him over email, text and phone...matched 100% in person. Enrique is calm, professional, respectful and has values! You mean to tell me there was an ACTUAL dmv clerk and I waited three days for this bs????? In one minute my job was taken care of by Nancy the dmv clerk. Aside from Peggy, all these people like Nathan, Danny, and the other operators really seem to be lacking business management. I'm glad we got the car we wanted but never going back here. I Went to their location over the weekend with the wife and mom to test drive. Their staff are very polite and professional. We were assisted by Enrique Carvajal, who was very sincere and made sure my family is comfortable and informed throughout the process. At no point did anyone pressure us for the sale, which is something i can't say with the other dealerships i've been to. They still don't offer snacks like Cerritos, but they have water and coffee Service departments is excellent! I will say upfront that I did not end up buying a car from this dealership, but I was very impressed by Chang Chung, one of the sales associates. I live far away from Torrance, but he found the exact Lexus I wanted, so I moved forward. We did all the negotiations over text and phone. He was relaxed, responsive, no high pressure sales, and we came to a deal. I put the car on hold, but I wouldn't be able to pick it up for several days due to the distance. In the meantime, a dealer close to home called me with the same car and could match the price. What I was most impressed with Chang about is that he was so classy and understanding when I told him that I was going to go with the closer option. He did offer another price decrease, but he understood that I had to go with the closer car when the other dealer matched it. He refunded my deposit immediately, sent a text confirmation showing it, and he gave me no hassle or hard feelings. I really appreciated that. I flew from Idaho to Southern California to buy a pre-owned certified Lexus RX 350 and I happened to find one at South Bay Lexus, a 2022 and the color I wanted in great shape and low miles. We drove directly from the airport to the South Bay Lexus dealership and met with a sales person Joshua. I had preapproved credit through Chase Bank and after test drives, and two days of driving out to meet with the sales person, I purchased the car from South Bay Lexus at the asking price, signed the contract, gave them a $1,000 deposit and got the key and was going to ship the car to Idaho. South Bay Lexus was aware of all this information from the get-go, including my preapproved credit and my intent to ship the car to Idaho. Two days later, the sales person called and said that they cannot do the deal because they do not sell to people from other states unless they pay cash, stating that this is their company policy. After them, ignoring my repeated calls for two days, to both our sales person and the general manager/owner of South Bay Lexus. I finally got a callback from the sales person reiterating that he was told by the owner that they cannot sell to out of state customers. I asked that the owner Mr. Johnny Hong call me. Additionally I had left him several messages and tried calling him at least 5 to 6 times with no return call. The salesman reiterated what Johnny Hong had told him that they are unable to sell the car to me. I told the salesperson that I think it was irresponsible and rather chicken that the general manager/owner, Johnny Wong was not calling me back. Bad experience/customer service and a total waste of time/2 days. Specially, given the fact that I told him all this information upfront and it took them 48 hours to tell me they couldn't do it after I've already purchased the car. read more
