Took my 2016 GT PP to Greg at RET for a known IMRC failure issue and couldn't be happier with how he handled it. Had the classic intake manifold runner control problem that's plaguing S550 Mustangs (P0300, P0308 codes, cylinder 8 misfire). Was torn between going with a pricey upgrade to a 2018+ manifold (notable power gains high in the power band via custom tune with trade off of losses in the low end) or just replacing with stock. I got on the phone with Greg, he explained the potential smog issues I might run into (especially in CA) if I went this route and gave me his honest suggestion that for a daily driver like mine, the stock replacement was the better play. No upsell, just straight talk. He sourced a new OEM manifold for a solid price, knocked out the install in about an hour with his team and had me out the door in no time (pre scheduled appointment). The car's running smooth again, no more surging/hesitation at 1500-2000 RPMs (telltale symptom of the IMRC failure). Greg gave me honest advice instead of pushing me toward the most expensive fix. This is a follow-up review to the first review I left a few weeks ago, because I see the shop owner replied, but he isn't being honest. The shop owners explanation for the car possibly breaking a piston is that it was making too much power and the car already had too many miles. It's a 2013 Camaro SS, the engine is rated to handle 500-800 horses. After his tune the car was making 475. If the shop owner is so sure 200k was too many miles to apply performance parts to the engine now, why wasn't that communicated before he started the job? Leading up to the installation I asked the shop owner what does he recommend I do besides the mods I was already requesting and I asked if he could replace the pistons. Over the phone he told me I should get new lifters and a new timing chain and that I don't need new pistons. After the initial work was done I was told don't Rev the car over 2k and to drive on the street because the new clutch needed to be broken in up to 500 miles. The car was driven very lightly up until he tuned the car, a day later the engine blew. The morning before the engine blew I noticed a lot of thick gray smoke coming out of the exhaust that smelled like gas and the car was constantly back firing. Seconds before the engine blew there was a lot of backfiring. Besides not knowing what he's doing, he's dishonest with his pricing, hard to get in contact with and unprofessional. I was helping out a buddy of mine with his 2011 Ford Mustang GT with a Ford Racing supercharger. The car got refereed and required a state inspection. I took the car to Greg and he helped me get the right intake (had the wrong one which was not CARB legal) and helped me by advising me to contact Roush who make the same kit but with a different head. He flashed my PCM with the stock code, replaced my spark plugs with the right ones, and then he put me in touch with the Roush folks who flashed my PCM with the CARB tune and I passed the inspection with flying colors! Although the car is no longer a bat out of he double hockey sticks, it is fully legal and runs great! Thank you Greg, I appreciate your help! Greg & co. were able to tune my newly-bought 07 Saleen-engine GT. Normally, this wouldn't be a 5-star feat, but in this case, since I bought the car secondhand, there were some "mysteries". For example, after it was tuned the first time, my radiator fluid started bursting from the tank. A long story later, it turns out there was an undiagnosed electrical issue, the root cause of which was an incorrectly installed patch relay (to circumvent the fusebox, as apparently there was a burnt out fuse-socket there), that was causing the radiator fan not to spin - thus the engine overheats, & water floods your garage. Had nothing to do with the tune itself (though, how it was working beforehand at all is unknown). Not only does my car run great now, but all the oddities of the car magically disappeared once the relay was fixed. Greg & co (I'd say a huge-chunk of the diagnosis credit goes to one of the employees who really knew electrical) spent about 5 hours on the car, & just charged me for the tune & some spark plugs (that I really needed). You might say that's a while for this issue, but keep in mind this car had been dealer-serviced for over 7 years, & they never got this issue fixed despite clearly trying. So, hat's off to RET. My Mustang runs faster & better than possibly ever. read more

Greg had 6 attempts to get it right and charged me 500 dollars and never offered a refund. He had me going back and forth for no reason, just purely out of his inexperience and lack of knowledge. Wasn't going to leave a review but i need to get this off my chest. First of all, the work done on my car was great. No problems there. The mechanic was friendly and was extremely helpful. My complaint was because of a quote. I was going to take my car to gtr high performance but was quoted at racers edge for less. When the job was done, the price went up because of some motor mounts. I was told that the mounts were already off and might as well change them out. I said "sure, no problem" when I picked up the car, I was charged extra for the work. Again, it was pitched that SINCE THEY'RE ALREADY OFF, let's change them. Wish they would have told it was going to be extra in the first place. read more

I wanted to give them three stars but their work is so good they deserve four. They are very expensive here and because they are so busy, your promised deadline is never met. Our time frame was over a month over what they said it would be. Nonetheless, they fixed and tuned our truck to perfection. Couldn't be happier with Greg's work on my '07 Shelby GT500! I got Greg's name from the original owner of my Shelby, who had it tuned here in '07 after doing some mods. It's always run beautifully at around 540HP since I bought it in 2012. But smog standards have gotten stricter, and I needed to have it re-tuned in order to pass smog this year, so I drove 500 miles to get it back to Greg because I trusted he'd get it dialed in. He was really easy to work with to schedule on fairly short notice considering I had a small window to get it to him on my road trip, and I thought his rates were fair. Greg and his team clearly know their stuff, picking up on a couple of issues that my mechanic missed just a week before, and fixing one of them quickly on the spot. Not only did working with Greg set me up to pass smog, but as an added bonus, my car's now running around 566HP. Greg even checked back in a couple of days later to make sure things were running well with the car. I'm exceptionally picky with who I let touch my car, and I completely trust Racer's Edge and Greg, and I will most definitely bring the Shelby here in the future. read more
