I believe his name was Lozano( sorry if I got it wrong) and Anthony. They fixed my car no issues and had it up and running in no time. They were very professional and even washed by vehicle prior to me picking it up. I highly recommend them and they are extremely affordable. Don't hesitate to give them your vehicle. Best part. Very disappointing experience. I called yesterday to schedule an appointment for my brakes, and they confirmed it over the phone and again by text. I took time out of my day to bring my car in, only to be told they were too busy and couldn't work on it until next week. If they already knew they were fully booked, why wasn't I told that when I made the appointment? A simple phone call or text would have saved me a wasted trip. My time is just as valuable as theirs. I've waited a long time to write this review just to be sure that I actually know what I'm talking about. My car had a check engine light for a bad sensor. I replaced it and it persisted so I bring it here. They took a look at it and let me know my car needed a valve cover replacement, new spark plugs, and to replace the sensor I had just replaced. There might have been more but this was almost a year ago so I don't exactly remember everything we did. Fine, I trust them because this place has been highly reviewed and it seemed very professional. So I spent about $1500 on repairs. Maybe a week later the same code comes on so I'm confused. I take it back to them and it takes days for them to get to the car because their "diagnostic tech" is really busy. Fine. So they call me and tell me that the code I'm getting is because my timing chain is fucked and it's going to cost $4500 to fix it... Which I don't have. So I sit on it for a few days while I see if I can come up with the money or what I'm going to do, before they threaten to charge me a storage fee for having my car with them. Fine, I understand they don't have all the space in the world. So I get to the shop pay their $150 diagnostic fee and try to take the car. The battery is dead. They gave me a jump and I drove home but there was no check engine light. I found it weird and thought it was a fluke. Long story short I replaced the battery, battery cable, oil, alternator and the car is just fine. I've been driving it for almost 8 months. I put in maybe $500 in parts. While I am trying to figure out what the problem is I message them and ask if they charged the battery, or if the battery died on them at all. No answer despite multiple messages. And this is what bothers me you have no problem messaging me multiple times to threaten me with fees but can't respond to one simple message. My point is this shop is shady. They wanted to upsell me on expensive repairs I didn't need. Now I'm not even sure if I truly needed those $1500 in repairs the first time. How do I know it was an upsell? The guy who gave me my car back said, "we just go based on what the scanner says." And that's when I knew this shop sucked. Why would I be charged a ridiculous $150 fee for you to scan my car? Personally that doesn't seem like diagnostic work (at least a proper one). I feel like some of the things I discovered on my own an experienced mechanic would have found. The car had an electrical problem. In between those two visits I took another car to them to see if they could do a transmission drain and fill. I put that in the appointment request and I made the appointment days in advance. When I get there they say they can't work on the car because it has a lot of miles on it, which again is fine but why are you making me waste my time and bring my car to you if you aren't going to work on it. Do you not have someone who checks the following days' appointments? Why does your website allow me to make the appointment if it doesn't meet your shops criteria. All in all I say stay away and find a place with honest mechanics. read more

Truly disappointed with this location. Lorenzo, the service advisor tried to charge us $25 for the brake inspection upon initial arrival. When I pointed out the banner at their shop that says "Free Brake Inspection" and their website which states Free Brake Inspection, he retorted that their website also states they do free smog checks, but he states they do not even do smog. (When relooking at their website, they do not mention free smog anyways.) Lorenzo stated the brake inspections were not free and the website got it wrong. When I asked him for the person in charge he stated Erika and Ezekiel were in the parts dept. It is a shame Lorenzo was the only advisor handling a long line at check in. He stated Corporate was aware of the brake inspection charge discrepancy. If they are aware and he is aware, why try to charge a customer for a "Free" brake inspection? After leaving our car here, we heard the next day of a list of repairs needed. Lorenzo stated they believed our brake caliper was seized but could not confirm it. He attempted to charge us an additional $289.47 for the brake caliper service and $152.10 for the brake fluid service in addition to the brakes and rotor replacement service charge we were expecting. The issue is that when we asked Lorenzo if he could confirm if the brake caliper was truly needed to be replaced, he could just say he highly suggests replacing it. From the beginning, this place was trying to scam. I reached out to Alex's Auto Repair in Cypress, who confirmed they could verify if the brake caliper would be needed. Alex's Auto Repair stated there would be no need to waste extra money if he could confirm the issue. Alex's Auto Repair serviced us, and simply lubricated our caliper without us needing to pay over $800 for the whole brake service like Downey Care Care was quoting us. Alex's Auto Repair took the time to verify the issue, charging us less than half of what Downey Care Care center wanted to charge. My issue with this location is they would have happily overcharged us for a service that was not needed. Take your car to Alex's Auto Repair, save your time and money. While Downey Care Care Center was busy playing around, we had to spend extra time and money booking a rental car. (Photo on the left is from Alex's Auto Repair who took the time to verify the concern and lubricate our caliper. The photo on the right includes one page of many pages of services recommended by Downey Care Center including replacing the brake caliper and fluid exchange had we chosen to go that route.) Makes me question if the remaining suggested repairs (not all pictured below) by Downey Care Care Center were even necessary. read more

I went with my bf to get his breaks fixed and he had made an appointment via text. When we showed up he told the person at the computer he had an appointment to get his breaks changed and then we were told to feel free to wait in their waiting area or come back and we would be getting a text when the car was ready. 4 hours later we came back and the car wasn't ready so we waited at the waiting area. after the car was ready we were told that they did an inspection and we indeed needed to change the breaks and to make an appointment to come back and get that done. It's unbelievable that he made an appointment to get the service done and were told to come back. It's his day off and we came today for a reason now he has to wait and do this all over again super early in the morning so he can go to work after. Just crazy Update we came back to the car to Leave before I posted the review and when I open the door the whole compartment was on the floor with the air vent thing out . They have made other mistakes like forgetting to plug in my rear view lights again after replacing bulb. They couldn't fix my old sonata either and the check engine light returned 3 times when promised it was fixed. I thought easy jobs was okay to trust this place, but I was wrong. I would like to commend the staff here for doing all the work they do, and in busy situations. Please forgive my misspelling, I want to thank Iseah who talked to on the phone. I want to thank Jay who helped people the day I went. The facility was clean and organized, so I felt very comfortable about coming here. They are next to car wash and a gas station. Also, Stonewood Mall is across the way too. The had coffee and snacks, I loved that they had Kirkland coffee pods, oh heck yea. The waiting area is not huge but enough. Jay was very knowledgeable and helpful; I overheard him helping people out. As far as value, I felt I got a good value, as I was shopping around. I was given a time estimate, and a time estimate if I wanted additional service and they were very good about meeting that. Went and service done quickley and great car wash too!!! I got oil change and car wash for under $200 what a deal today

I inquired about a full brake diagnosis and repair as my car had a squeaking sounds while braking. They responded the fastest and were conveniently located near the freeway exit, and they seemed to be offering a discount for the service. I ended up dropping my car off around 8:40am on Friday for my 9am appointment, but they seemed really backed up with cars. Thankfully they offered me a free uber ride back home which saved me some money as my house was 7+ miles away and I couldn't stay there the full day. They called me at around noon when they finally got to my car to review the work needed and said they would have my car done by close of the day around 6pm. Unfortunately they called me later and told me that they ordered the wrong parts and I'd have to leave my car there until the next day for afternoon pickup. This was very unfortunate, but luckily they offered me a car rental until the next day as well as a 10% discount on the full service which I appreciated. I had to Lyft back to the shop to pick up the rental at a nearby Hertz. The next day, I had to drop off the rental because the hertz closed at noon the next day, but my car wasn't ready to pick up so they told me to come back at 3pm. So I had to take another uber back home, and then find a ride back to the shop around closing at 3pm. Finally got my car back, and thankfully my braking issues have gone away. Shout out to Isaiah whom I worked with the entire time and was very communicative and was understanding of my situation. Also nice that they have water, coffee and snacks inside, and that they offered me uber rides back home. It was just unfortunate that my car had to be kept until the end of the next day. Even though the cost of the repairs were almost double of what I was expecting, I'm glad that my brake situation is resolved so I have more peace of mind. Not sure if I'd come back since they seemed really busy and the chance of my car being kept longer might be high, but I do appreciate how customer service friendly they are. read more

First time at downey car care center and the place was very clean and the wait time wasn't too long. I was able to wait inside in the AC with complimentary WiFi. The employees did a wheel alignment inspection and were very honest with the results, letting me know that I did not need one for my car. They also let me know that they were running a special for the wheel alignment which was great if you are trying to save some bucks (you can also check their website for any specials beforehand). I've visited this place for an oil change twice now, and I've had a really positive experience. The employees are super friendly and knowledgeable. I tend to ask a lot of questions, especially about the different oil options for my type of car, and they always provide thorough and not pushy answers. Per Lorenzo Ong the manager's suggestion I bought a camber alignment set that was supposed to be for my Subaru STI Hatch that it originally never had after I installed it I retuned to the shop to do another realignment (they do have a 3 month warranty on alignments) I was amazed how fast the service was and how my car can now have a camber adjustment. I requested a quote through yelp and they were fast to respond and offered a great deal +a first time discount. I went in because the control arms on my Mazda needed to be replaced. Mazda was charging me $2k this place was 50% cheaper and I was able to replace my air filters for a cheaper price than the Mazda dealership. The whole thing took 1 day. I had errands to run that day and they provided me with a discount at Hertz next door so that made things easier for me. My car drives great!! If you inquire about any service through Yelp, just know there will be a different price at location. I was quoted this 99.99 with $10 off, but then charged $100.17 so there is no discount. I arrived at 11am, by the time I paid it was 1:50pm. I get in and noticed it had not been vacuumed or washed, so had to wait additional 35 minutes. The staff are incredibly polite and nice, but I wouldn't come here due to deceitful pricing, overlooked services and time spent here. Edit: As I drove away, the car was dragging the "guard" part they said was damaged, but my car NEVER made this noise before nor was it dragging anything. I just had my tires changed and rotated a month ago I was under the hood so I know everything was intact. This was something they tried to get me to pay for it to be serviced. I brought my car in on a Saturday for multiple issues: a driver side rear window that would not roll up, tire sensor replacement, a check engine light, and an oil change. I was told the car would be ready by Monday or Tuesday. That did not happen. Monday: I called for an update and was told they had not looked into the check engine light yet. Only the oil change had been completed and the tire sensors were in progress. I was quoted 500 dollars for the window repair but chose not to approve it until I knew the cost of fixing the check engine issue. Tuesday: I had to call again. I was told diagnostics could not be done because the one person who runs the EVAP test had called out and no one else could perform it. It is unreasonable that the entire diagnostic process stops because one employee is absent. Wednesday: I was told they could not find an issue, cleared the check engine light, and said they would drive the car to ensure the light did not return. Based on that assurance, I approved the window repair. It then took another day and a half just for the part to arrive. Friday: I was told the car was ready and left work early to pick it up. After driving less than one block, the check engine light turned back on. This made it very clear the car was never test driven as promised. I returned immediately and was told to leave the car again. Saturday through Monday: The car was kept with no meaningful updates. On Monday, I was told another part might be causing the issue and that it needed to be replaced, adding yet another delay. At this point, I was referred to rent a car through Hertz. Tuesday: I again had to call for an update and was told the car was ready. Wednesday: I took additional time off work to pick it up, only to find the check engine light was still on. When I asked what work had been done since Saturday, I was told the person assisting me was off and no one could clearly explain what had or had not been done. After nearly two weeks, I was told they could not determine the issue and referred me to a dealership. After pickup, I discovered the rear door where the window was repaired no longer locks. When I called, I was told they were too busy and scheduled me an appointment over a week out, despite this issue being caused by their repair. Nearly two weeks without my car, repeated misinformation about it being ready, poor communication, and new problems created by their work. This experience wasted my time, required me to miss work multiple times, and ultimately didn't fix the biggest issue. read more
