First of all, do not get confused when you see the restaurant from outside, yes, it is indeed a small "hole in the wall" however, when you go inside, it is a decent place with cute lotus lights (kinda romantic). I came here on a Tuesday night (they have buffet for lunch in weekdays and for dinner on Sunday). I ordered thai ice tea(superb!), Pad mee- perfectly stir fried soft egg noodles with shrimp chicken and veggies in house sauce and chicken satay (5 stars! ). The food was great and the chilli oil served here is one of my favorites! It has a buttery flavor that makes it unique. The service was good. Our family eats Thai food quite often, so when we were in the area around dinner time on a Sunday night, we found this Thai place on Yelp. I decided to try the buffet to have a variety, while the rest of the family ordered off the menu. The food was flavorful, but my son thought the shrimp in his Pad Thai had an odd consistency, so he stopped eating them. The mussels were unappealingly gritty and the spicy noodles were mushy. Nothing really seemed fresh...it was all sort of oily and blah. All four of us felt lousy later that evening and throughout the next day - not to the point of vomiting, but we all had upset stomachs. We regretting coming here and I certainly wouldn't go back or recommend it. read more

Everything is super fresh and tasty. I'm a huge fan of the pad thai and vegetable tempura.

There really aren't any great restaurants at the Shoppes at Blackstone Valley, which is a bummer. (Applebees, Longhorn, Qdoba, Panera, Red Robin, Uno, an expensive and not-so-great Japanese place, you get the idea.) What I mean is that there's no good eatery. You know, the kinda place you can trust to get a quick, cheap, and good lunch or dinner? Racha Thai is not in the shopping plaza; it's on Route 20 but very close by. My go-to spot for a bite before a movie or after shopping at Blackstone. Reasonable, inexpensive, reliably good. I have found the dishes vary a little bit depending on who is in the kitchen. Wonton soup is delicious, and for an entree I really like the lemongrass chicken. Pineapple fried rice and all of the appetizers I've tried also very good. Cheap cocktails ($4.50/ea) if you're into that. Give it a try! read more

My FAVORITE "hole in the wall" Thai restaurant. I came here for lunch and decided to try the buffet for the first time. For what it is/has, the buffet is slightly overpriced, but the food is still so tasty and deliciois. The desserts were really lacking and had more American desserts than Thai desserts. My best friend and I are Thai connoisseurs and she introduced me to this hidden gem earlier this week. I must say, the inside looks like a 80s restaurant, but who cares- their style is their style and it's perfect. The service was typical, very nice, attentive and cute. And it was very quiet- thank God. We got 1 order of crab rangoons and 2 pad Thai dishes. Holy . Peanut. Sauce. The Pad Thai was the best I have EVER had. The dish came dripping in the DELICIOUS sweet and sour saucy sauce, steaming hot with chicken, shrimp and all the deliciousness pad Thai comes with. It was the BEST pad Thai I ever had. This place serves a Dinner Buffet which is pretty amazing. As per the taste, its fine. The Al-a-Carte menu has curries which dont come with rice which was pretty weird for a thai restaurant. So you need to order extra rice (which the waitress pointed out) if you order curries. The curries have lots of veggies which I personally loved but did not have much curry part to it. I tried the green curry and red curry and papaya salad which I usually take and everything was pretty decent. read more

I ended up coming across this place here on YELP! by mistake from looking at someone elses reviews. I ended up getting excited because I saw the word "buffet". I was in AWE!. Another awesome dinner at Racha Thai! I've been a patron for years, and I've never had a bad experience. Yes, it's in a creepy strip mall plaza. No, you can't tell once you're inside. The decor is cool, the servers are friendly, the food is delicious (and served fast), and the prices are reasonable. We ordered the Pad Thai, spicy noodles, and green beans with chicken in house sauce. Everything was awesome, especially the green bean dish. You know those green beans you get at a Chinese buffet? Like that, only 20 times better... perfectly cooked, not wilted, in a delicious sauce with carrots, mushrooms, and chicken... MMMMmmm! I love, love, love Racha Thai! It's by far the best Thai in the area and is where I go whenever I'm in the mood for Thai food. The prices are great, the service is fast and accommodating - they are super friendly and helpful. The portions are nice (esp for the price) and everything is delicious. Yes, it's in a strip mall. The decor is no 'tackier' than any other Thai restaurant I've been to (not sure what people expect)? I noted that most of the bad reviews of this place are people who are Thai or Asian. I don't think it's fair to compare an American Thai place to what you ate back at home. Really?!?! That's like comparing your local Chinese food restaurant to what they eat in China (two totally different things) or complaining that your local pizza joint isn't as nice as the Italian place you visited while in Venice. It looks like it used to be a smaller place but they punched through the next door wall and added a dining room. The quality of food is good but they are serving an Americanized version of Thai here. Service is good and they have a full bar. They run a buffet at lunch for $9 and $11 dinner buffet on the weekend. * It's great Thai for the burbs but I can't slide my scale. * Tom Yum Soup had 3 very fresh Shrimp but no chili oil and no kick. * You have to be very firm in asking for spicy dishes. The standard is not spicy at all. * If the entire menu was as good as the Tod Mun it would be a 5 star place. * Very good Pad Thai and noodles in general. * Only one type of chili sauce, red Vietnamese chili garlic sauce which is fine but I like when the have the others, even if it's just Thai chilis picked in vinegar. * Dinner prices are a tad high for this level of quality, $14 an entree. * If this were in my town it would be the best Thai for 10 miles. I had heard about this restaurant for a while, but have had trouble finding it. We were using out GPS and there are two listings for Racha Thai. The first listing we tried was wrong. The second was right, but the GSP could not find it. Thankfully another review on here mentioned it was close to the McDonalds in a strip mall. This is the only Thai place I have been to that has a buffet. The price for the dinner buffet ($10.95) was very reasonable. We took my 3 year old daughter and did not want to have to pay full price for her. We were very happy when the waitress said that they do not charge kids her age for the buffet. That was a very plesant surprise. They had about 12 or 14 different dishes plus two soups to choose from. It was a good variety too. There were noodle dishes (the classic Pad Thai was there of course), rice dishes, curries, fish, chicken, and pork. Each thing I tasted was very good. The basil fish was a surprise. I normally do not care for fish on a buffet, but this was really done well. The flavor was fantastic and the fish was not dried out or over cooked. The soup was great, but only one of the soups still had stuff in it. The other soup was just broth with no chicken or veggies or anything else left. Those were not replaced the whole time we were there. The dessert choices on the buffet were a little lacking, but that did not bother me at all. They had coconut jello, which I enjoyed, but the texture was a bit strange. My daughter could not get past that. There were also orange wedges and pineapple chunks along with generic oreo type cookies. The service was friendly, but slow. We were not in a huge rush so it did not matter to us, but if we were then it could have been a problem. They also have a lunch buffet for a lower price. This was probably the worst Thai food I've ever had, not to mention it's the exact same menu as Thai Place, with the name "Thai Place" written inside! Racha Thai is a hidden little gem right near the Auburn/Millbury/Worcester borders. It's tucked away in the back of a plaza sandwiched right between a laundromat and a little pub. The inside is cute with lots of interesting decorations and has plenty of seating with most tables seating four and some bigger tables in the back that can sit up to eight. The drinks here are cheap and pretty awesome in my opinion. The Mai Thais and white or black Russians are some good picks. The food is so tasty and eye appealing. I'm a big fan of the Massaman curry dish with tofu. The spicy noodle and Pad Thai will satisfy your noodle cravings. The last dish I had there was the Thai Place Duck. My girlfriend and I shared this and it was one of the most satisfying dishes I had ever experienced. It's served in a plum sauce that is sweet and really compliments the crunchy and tender duck meat. I highly recommend it! There are also plenty of appetizers on the menu that are reasonably priced and quite delectable. If you're feeling adventurous try the Angel Wings, an odd appetizer on paper but very rewarding once in your mouth. If you're looking for a delicious place to satisfy your Thai needs or if you've never tried Thai food then come here! I can honestly say I've never had a bad meal there. We were searching for a place to meet up with a friend en-route from Natick to Spencer and found this "hidden gem" on Yelp. WHY, YELP, whyyyyyyy??! I wanted to put all of my faith into a hidden strip mall sensation....but was absolutely dashed. Parking in the small lot, we trudged through falling snow to the last shop in this teeny strip mall (usually this causes flashing lights and alarm bells to whistle in my ears...but I decided to be adventurous). We stood in the reception area for about five minutes; I would have thought that this place *only* did take out if I hadn't peeked around the corner to look for a hostess. At last, a smiling face! She seated us near the closed up buffet and delivered menus. The decor is pretty much what you would expect it to be for a Thai restaurant in a strip mall within Worcester city limits. The menu is pretty much what you would expect it to be for a Thai restaurant in general, but I did appreciate the vegetarian selections. Drinks were CHA-EEEEEEP (but almost equally weak). We ordered some tofu triangles (tasted a bit like it had been fried, refrigerated, and then reheated) and crab rangoon (small, possibly frozen) for the table. For meals my friend ordered a beef dish while my date and I ordered tofu pad thai and the Vegetable Rama. The rama was basically steamed veggies (loved that they weren't over-cooked - still snappy!) and pre-fried-re-heated tofu cubes with a thick peanut sauce on the side. A puzzling straw basket with a plastic bag of sticky rice was delivered along with my dish (the rice was STICKY and difficult to dole out of the container, so I ended up just lumping it onto my plate). Essentially: the food was reasonably priced but lackluster in flavor and texture. The saving grace was the absolutely wonderful service from some of the nicest people I've ever met. My sister brought over takeout from Racha Thai. Everything was delicious! We had Thai rolls, chicken wings and Bangkok Ravioli appetizers - they were all crispy and very tasty. Lots more flavor than I usually find in these types of appetizers. We then had Pineapple Fried Rice, House Fried Rice, Pad Thai, and 2 different Chicken Curry dishes. Again, I loved that the flavors of each were distinct and delicious. Everyone enjoyed all the selections. There were 6 adults eating. We had plenty to eat and an ample amount of leftovers. Husband got the Prik Pao Chicken eztra spicy, I got Ginger Salmon, and we got a Green Curry with Duck (extra spicy) for the Grandmother on babysitting duty. So I was super pumped to check out this one-of-a-kind Thai buffet that I saw a few raving reviews about. Howevah... no lunch buffet on Sundays! (this must be somewhat new- as the sign says Thurs, Fri, Sat and a taped over Sun...) So I guess I will have to go back on one of those days. I read the little signs they had over the dark, empty buffet tables and I was definitely interested to come back and try the variety of things, even if they are less than superb (more on this in a minute). I mean, for 9 bucks, it's not a bad deal. They do have dinner buffet, only on Sundays, starting at 5pm. So instead, disappointed, we ordered off the menu. I'll start (and finish) by saying that for the same money (yes, the cheap prices and large portions that everyone is enthralled by) you can do much better at Thai Island in Holden (also not much of a drive from Worcester). I ordered yellow curry with chicken- a favorite of mine (at other places) because I like the contrast of the hot, creamy, spicy curry and the chunks of pineapple while my friend ordered the Pad Thai and we split the appetizer sampler to see the different things- like their golden cups... The verdict- while I do enjoy a good peanut sauce, I also enjoy a good curry, but not necessarily together. The curry was suspiciously too thick and tasted like peanuts... The Pad Thai was ok, the noodles a bit chewy. On the platter I wasn't too impressed with all the fried stuff. The coveted golden cups were full of something that reminded me of the stuff that left in the bottom of a cup-o-noodles- corn and peas and minced chicken with similar flavoring. Bottom line- make sure you know when the buffet is, try it (I still have some hope that might be the one thing I'd go there for on occasion), otherwise your money is better invested at one of the many Vietnamese places in town, or take a trip up 122 and go to Thai Island! read more

We were originally going to the Papa Gino's located in the same plaza as this hole in the wall Thai restaurant but it had closed apparently. After trying this place for the first time we weren't disappointed. Their appetizers were good, we had crab Rangoon and glass noodle soup. For lunch we had the mango chicken and chicken yellow curry, and both were excellent. The price was comparable to most Thai restaurants and the service was really pleasant, attentive but not overbearing. The atmosphere was quiet and relaxing but could probably use some updating in the way of paint and cosmetic upgrades. Overall it was an awesome experience and we would definitely go back! read more

My friends took me there for my birthday. We made a reservation for 14 people and the restaurant was awesome about seating us all together. The food was so delicious! I sampled the red curry, pad see eaw, Bangkok beef, and crab rangoons. They were happy to prepare the curry very mild and it was perfect! The rangoons were perfectly crisp and the sweet Thai sauce for dipping is awesome! Bangkok beef is to die for! As an added treat, the waitress brought out a birthday sampling of their ice creams - green tea, ginger and coconut. The waitress, Nee, was super sweet and we had some great conversation with her. I would say this is above average for what I'd expect in Central MA, but certainly a far shot from the best I'd ever had. We ordered takeout (Pad Thai, Crazy Noodles, Pineapple Fried Rice and Fresh Rolls) and when I got there they'd apparently lost our order...not a big deal but not the best start to our business relationship.
