Someone get this woman an award ASAP! She is so much fun to work with, great energy, and very talented! We were lucky enough to have Rachael and her team for our wedding day. She was on time, professional, but most importantly she was FUN! She was patient with us, our family's and our pups. She did some before, during, and after shots of the ceremony. And she got every photo that we had asked for during or pre wedding meeting. Her photo booth was so much fun! Our guests loved the instant prints of their photos, one to keep and one to post in our guest book. Great quality, and they even customized our photos with our name/wedding date! So cute! Rachael somehow between the ceremony and reception had some photos ready online for us to view and use. Super cool way for us to get a peak of what's to come, and let me say, we LOVED them!! ZERO STARS!!! I still have not received my daughter's photos. After writing the review above, I got a response apologizing saying my emails went to her promotion box. Ok. Fine. After a little time she said she mailed them out and gave me tracking info. I was so excited when I saw they arrived, opening them and IT WAS NOT MY DAUGHTER!!! She sent me someone else's photos who is also waiting (I've spoken to many parents at the school and many are in the same position as me, not receiving photos and have yet to meet anyone satisfied with this photographer). I reached out to the school, found out whose child it was and I DELIVERED THEM TO THAT FAMILY. I reached out to the photographer, she apologized and said she would get my daughters out to me again. This was on June 25th. I have been trying to get in contact with her since then, haven't received the pictures or any tracking information. Because of this photograph I highly doubt I will ever get my daughter's first school pictures. To schools: please do not hire this photographer for school photos. Ever. It has been awful. The pictures were subpar. Her lack of communication is unacceptable. I paid $40 for a few pictures that I will likely never receive. I'm hoping that maybe like last time I'll be able to get a response doing a public message but I'm doubtful at this point. If I ever do receive them, I'll update here. read more

This review actually deserves no stars. Rachael was taking photos for my daughters private school (we pay a little over 24k a year for tuition) and because it's my daughter's first year in preschool and first official picture day, I was thrilled to see the photos. Unfortunately, and I cannot make this up, the photos were a clear indication that she did not care to do her job. It looked like she took a balloon to the top of my daughters head and rubbed it against her hair, and dragged a piece of her hair to the front of her bow! I also want to add, that because I was also able to see all photos of the other children, I can say with confidence, that I was not the only parent who was disappointed. Rachael had taken photos for two siblings and it's very apparent that one of the siblings was screaming and crying in the photo. I get it, children can get fussy, but why would those photos even be an option for parents to choose from?? And, If i can post photos, of all the children's proofs, I would. I reluctantly ordered the smallest package. When I got notice that the school was planning to do a redo, because they were also unhappy with Rachael's work, I immediately sent Rachael an email and kindly asked for a refund so that I could order a larger package for the upcoming retake day. Not only did she fail to respond to my email, I had to reach out to her a 2nd time for a response, and I was very unhappy with her customer service. She said that she could not offer a refund, and parents or teachers are responsible for grooming the children and then proceeded to tell me that she hopes my daughters retakes are up to my satisfaction. First of all, my daughter is 4 and was dropped off with her hair brushed. Secondly, I too was a child once, and have also participated in school picture day. From what I can recall based off my own experience, the teachers never brushed students hair, rather it was the photographer. Mind you, I attended public schools where my parents were not paying 24k a year! I am so disappointed because as somebody who is running her own business, she couldn't even take accountability for her lack of effort when this is her profession. Instead she tried to put blame on a parent who could not be present, or put blame on teachers who are overseeing a large group of students. As a photographer, you are supposed to catch the flaws in the photos, that's the point of hiring a professional photographer. Because she refused to refund $37.99, she lost a customer who could have potentially ordered a much larger package the 2nd time around had she been a little bit more understanding that she did not deliver on that particular day. I also spoke with another parent, after the retake day, and she also expressed to me how disappointed she was with her daughters first round of photos, and that her daughter actually started crying when she saw them ! It's unfortunate that this is how she operates her business and couldn't provide better service, because to my surprise, my daughter's retake photos actually came out beautiful. However, I was so disappointed in the way she handled everything, and I refuse to give her another penny of my hard earned money. I would much rather pay hundreds of dollars at Photo Perfections in glendale where we frequently go, than to have this experience again. At the end of the day, customer service can really get you further when offering a professional service. read more

I didn't come here to ruin this photographer's rating because obviously there are a lot of people who have had good experiences. But I must share my experience in the hopes that this photographer doesn't get so complacent that she has regular and repeat gigs and she acts as if she doesn't have to try as hard. I'll start by "obnoxiously" stating that my daughter is a professional model. She has been represented by a modeling agency since she was 10 months old. She's been on the cover of magazines, she's had her pictures taken for the Gap and Levi's, and is on the social media and websites of the Natural History Museum, the Getty Museum, and Kidspace Children's Museum. My child is no stranger to cameras, photoshoots, and new photographers. She's an easy subject - a soft pitch for any photographer. When I say that I was disappointed in her first-ever preschool photos - that is an understatement. My girl looked shell-shocked, timid, and scared. I showed a co-worker my child's proof and she said, "Oh, who hurt that baby?" Her agency found the photo proofs unusable, which I knew, and I shared for the chuckle; like offhandly, "Can you believe of all of the kids... my daughter and this photographer didn't nail this?" I thought maybe it was just a bad first round of photos. Fast forward a few weeks and the school requested a redo (which should tell you something) - and my kid is still making the same face. I can see her trying to fake and grit her teeth through a smile. The second set hurt more because I could see the struggle in her face. I wasn't there, and I can only speculate. This photographer looks like she said "smile" and snapped 6 - 7 photos and moved on to the next kid. Too busy? Too many kids at this little school? Try being at a cattle call audition for a major brand - they have zero time for shenanigans and uncooperative kids. I expect crappy and non-patient outcomes in the industry, but not for her school photos - a place that is supposed to be easy and her safe space. For comparison, my daughter (when she was 3) did a professional photo shoot standing next to an active and moving 12ft tall Tyrannosaurus Rex and a crew of 20 people watching, and her smile was on point compared to sitting down in front of Rachael for a simple school picture. She's not a nervous kid. The T-Rex was comically more comforting. The proof sheet of all of the kids at my child's school - looks like if the kid didn't immediately bring it - Rachael wasn't helping (Was it COVID protocols? If so okay -- find other strategies). Her work read of an average point-and-shoot photographer; amateurish. Looking at one of the sibling photos -- there was a screaming baby being pushed onto her big sister. Additionally, the parent's hands and arms were all in the photo, etc. Awfully sad shots. But that's what Rachael submitted as a final proof and that's what parents "get" to purchase. We all got to see that -- it should have been embarrassing to submit and for the parents to know that everyone saw their screaming baby in photos. Take the baby away, take a picture of another kid, and offer the parents another shot when the baby is calmer. Don't just keep snapping photos, and then put them on your proof sheet. My husband is also a professional photographer, and he always says that it's his job as the photographer to make the subject as comfortable as possible. If he can't get the shot and be proud of it - he'll keep working at it or he won't submit it. So, if Rachael can't get a kid, who is a professional, to smile even in the redo - that's on her. I think Rachael can and should do better. I can't even share a photo as an example -- because I didn't buy any of them. They will never see the light of day. They could ruin my child's career; I'm only being slightly dramatic read more

I was in a rush for some last minute headshots for business cards for a conference I was attending. A little panicked, I called Rachael. She responded immediately, set up a time and there we had it. Rachael arrived promptly and literally within minutes she assessed my ideas and location and we got right to the photo shoot. Rachael is SO fabulous! She took the most amazing pictures of our son's drive in movie theater style "car mitzvah" last weekend. Not only is she extremely talented and professional, but it was so easy to work with her. She made the posing for family photos not just tolerable for my boys, but fun! I love the school photos Rachael did this year! How often could you really say that about school photos? It's clear she has a way to get kids looking their best and she is detail oriented (i.e. my daughter refused to take off a bandaid on her arm and Rachael made sure the photo was taken from the other side). In addition to the more traditional school photos, she also did pics with the kids holding a chalkboard that said what they want to be when they grow up.
