I use to go here all the time but recently every time I went I got my fake nails filled and would have pretty every finger would get cut and one time the owner drilled a hole in my nail that bled and took weeks to heal. Also another time with a wax she way to much off my eyebrow and I had to use an eyebrow pencil for a while when I never had to before and she also always missed an part of my upper lip. And I swear the owner makes up her own prices. So I don't recommend going here. read more

I've been coming here for years , it used to be I could drop in and get an appointment but it has increased in business so making an appointment ahead of the me is highly suggested. All the nail technicians are wonderful. I have been seeing Rachel exclusively for a year as she can remove ingrown toenails and corns.. They have comfy massage chairs to sit in during your pedicure and it's like taking a mini vacation each time I come here which is about once a month now. Do you like a great hand and foot massage? Price was fair, staff is friendly, and nails look great! Kim did my dip nails today and they came out beautiful!! She added tips because my nails were so short and I love how they look. COVID: Everyone was wearing a mask and you sign a paper so if anything does happen they can contact you. Kim is very nice and conversational. It was my birthday and my friends FaceTimed me and she told me to take the call no problem because the salon wasn't too busy (I feel rude being on my phone, but she was very kind about it). My experience was 50/50 and here's why. When I was greeted, I felt more like a burden walking in and it was not as welcoming as I'd like. I walked in Sunday late afternoon and asked if there was a wait and they said yes 5 mins which turned into 40 mins. I sat at the front and was later moved into a pedicure chair only to wait another 20 mins before being seen. After waiting, I was finally able to get a BASIC pedicure for $26 which includes soaking your feet in regular water, light scrubbing, and a warm towel. I then asked for a coffin shaped gel manicure, but what turned out was not how I expected. My nails were not even and they came out a lot shorter then what I had expected. Each nail is its own shape from round, to square, to "coffin" attempt. I didn't realize it until after I had gotten my nails done, but my nail tech had painted so far off from my cuticles that it looked like I had my nails done a week ago.... I will say the daughter of Rachel was very sweet, nice and helpful. She was one of the few kind ones when I walked in that day. read more

Please DO NOT go to Rachel Nails. They took advantage of my 17yo daughter this past Friday. My daughter came home extremely upset because not only did it take the manicurist 2- 1/2 hours to do a full set dip (with almost 10 dips in the powder), the manicurist cut her cuticles so close that many of them bled as well as put tips on top of tips (Her nails are so thick they are ridiculous). They charged her $53 and forced her to tip the manicurist. Teenagers are still learning how to navigate this adult world, so my 17yo was just too intimidated by Rachel and her staff, therefore my daughter didn't speak up. I immediately called Rachel, the owner, and she said it was the manicurist's first day. My daughter said Rachel even saw what was happening and didn't intervene. Rachel offered 1/2 back in a gift card. My daughter is seriously scared to step foot in a nail salon now, so there's no way she'll be back to this establishment. I have never given a bad review, but I know Rachel since she used to do my nails for about 3 years. I don't go to her anymore since she became very unfriendly, ungrateful and dishonored my appointment times. You have a choice.... PLEASE DO NOT USE RACHEL NAILS!!!!!!! read more

What is with this place? They never have the a/c on. I haven't been here in years for that reason alone but thought I would check them out again. I will not be returning. Not only that but I did not feel safe. I purposely booked an early morning appointment before others arrived. I was asked to write my name down and I asked if it was clean. Yeah, yeah ...well, I did not see anyone wiping down the pin after my use. Employees would walk in without masks especially one young gentleman. He kept walking thru the salon yacking to everyone without his mask until he finally settled down to do nails. I bet his station was covered in germs. And an older woman who I believe is the owner walked in without a mask and finally put on a plastic face shield on her head -not over her face but on her head - while she was playing with her phone. The woman who did my nails did a good job. However the pedicure that was done by I believe the owner's husband cut my toe. It burned when he added some kind of antiseptic. Now it has a big red scab and still hurts and looks unsightly. I hope it's not infected. I just can't go back even though convenient to where I live. Terrible quality manicure and horrible customer service!!! Had a French manicure on Thursday afternoon for my sons wedding on Saturday afternoon. The clear polish was bubbling and peeling before the wedding!!! When I stopped by to show them on Monday morning Rachel said it was because they only put one coat of clear polish on and I have real nails (not gel). The white tips have an extra layer of polish so they are fine. Instead of offering to fix then, she argued I shouldn't expect the manicure to last! Two days though for a French manicure that I paid 5 dollars more than a regular manicure is ridiculous!! read more

If I could rate this place 0 stars I would! I believe the owner of this place did my nails and had VERY poor customer service. Not only did she have poor customer service, she did a crappy job on my nails! My 4 year old daughter could've done a better job! She had gel polish all over my fingertips. I asked her at the end if she was going to clean up around my finger tips, her response was " wash your hands a few times when you get home and it will come off". Came to this place on a recommendation from a co worker. I live in South Sacramento and am new to this area for work and needed to get my nails done for a wedding this upcoming weekend. I would usually never cheat on my current nail salon, because they do a fantastic job, but I was running out of time and needed a quick solution. I read some of the reviews and was a little worried, I won't lie. But I took the plunge anyways, and boy am I glad I did. They were fast and very friendly. But most of all, my French mani is about as on point as I have ever had it yall. I could not be more happy. This place is fast, efficient, clean and BUSY! I keep saying I'll never go there again, but I do because it's so conveniently located. The upselling is obnoxious. If you don't go along they rush or neglect. When I refused to add more services, they started working in other clients. They never finished the manicure after an hour and I had to leave for an appointment. They charged me for a full manicure and added services for my pedicure that I had turned down. When I complained I was charged for services I hadn't received, they just ignored me. I made an appointment this morning for 5pm. Never having been there. But I'm new to EDH and was looking for a new salon. Asked for just a gel color change. Amy did my nails. She was pleasant enough, the owner brought over a cold bottle of water. That was very nice. My left thumb nail was rippled when I was there. I showed Amy. She just put extra coat of clear on and sent me on my way. Honestly that would not bother me too much. But 3 hours after being home, both my thumb nails polish has peeled off! I've NEVER had that happen. And I've been getting gel nails for probably 4 years. I am really disappointed and going out of town in the morning. So can't get fixed. Frustrating to pay for something you assume will last 2 weeks not even make 2 days :( read more

Very disappointed. I have been to this place several times and today was asked to walk to Safeway to get cash out when they have a VISA sign in their window. This is the second time this has happened and it will be the last. You either take credit cards or you don't and you should be able to absorb the fees with all of your up charges that you conveniently forget to tell customers. For an appointment that I made ahead of time. I live right near by so I keep trying again thinking it's closer than Folsom, but I will never make the mistake of coming here again. My daughter went into "Rachel Nails" and asked how much it would be to get a full set done. Rachel (the owner) responded $25. My daughter made an appointment for 3:30pm, arrived promptly and wasn't seen until 5:15pm. She proceeded to get her nails done, showing Rachel a photo of how she wanted them to look. When her nails were done, they looked terrible and nothing like the photo she has shown Rachel. Not to mention, my daughter kept telling her, they didn't look right.... she just kept on with her version of them. She then charges my daughter $45. My daughter reminded her she said it would be $25, Rachel have some story why it cost more, but failed to mention any pricing differential during the job, so my daughter had no idea. My daughter paid the $45 for a crappy nail job and called me upset. I showed up and confronted Rachel about what she had done and explained to her that what she did was not right and owed my daughter a $20 refund. After several minutes of words being exchanged (most of which I couldn't understand), and a threat of a complaint to the BBB, she obliged and returned the $20. As you can see from the photo posted..... this was a horrible job and definitely not deserving of a $45 fee. I'd expect better from a student at cosmetology school for $10, let alone the OWNER of a high priced nail salon in El Dorado Hills. DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY AT THIS SALON, IT'S NOT WORTH IT! 1 year ago: I've gone to this salon a couple of times for a full and they did an ok job, but the top coat they used NEVER fully dried. It wasn't wet to the touch, but kept denting. I had to go back and have them redo it and still had an issue. That was about a year ago. I recently went back to give them another try for a full set. The gal who put the tips on didn't appear to know what she was doing and half of my nails aren't even glued to the tip. There is a gap between my real nail and the tip, so water, food and whatever else is getting trapped in between the nail. In addition, Rachel (the owner), was extremely rough and not only cut my cuticles, but also kept pushing down on my skin underneath my nails, so hard that it separated my skin from my nail. Not to mention, I'm the idiot who paid $50 to have this done (pink & white's are outrageous there). I highly recommend taking your business to another salon. The man that works there is the rudest person. I won't be back. As I sat down in pedicure chair I sat on a ring with gel nail samples and so two of the sample nails broke off the ring. I apologized and the man was awful. Pissed at me, rolling his eyes, shaking his head, then loudly saying a bunch of stuff I couldn't understand. I had just put my feet in the water and had to just get up and leave I was so embarrassed. Oh, and he had his AirPods in his ears the whole time. Wow just wow This is my 2nd weird/negative experience here after coming here quite a few times, so this will be my very last time here. Long story short, I always tip $5 on a basic pedicure, always, regardless if the service is great or horrid as this industry is tough. Well today I had zero time to get to a bank so I used a credit card to pay. The girl asked me if I had cash for her tip. I told her sorry I did not and wrote $5 on the tip area on my credit card slip. She seriously then said "next time bring cash for tip"! Omg seriously!!! Wow just wow! I'm blown away by the brazenness of that statement.
