I just can't! I am so appalled by Thrive's quality of a Stylist. I wanted to go to El Dorado Hills to get amazing service. I heard of an extension girl there with a very unique name and really was looking forward to pick her brain. I wasn't ready for extensions yet, so I figured I'd go and get a cut, style and some highlights for Spring! By the time my hair would grow, I'd get some extensions for Summer. Well, Yelp friends, I was crying up until I had my hair fixed by a wonderful gal in Midtown. This was a nightmare....everything about this. This review is for Stylist Lindsey, and it needs to be said by someone for the amount of money one spends on hair. They truly say don't judge someone by how they look, right? WRONG, so very wrong. In the world of aesthetics, that is exactly what you SHOULD do. I should have known right when I saw her own hair, and really how her entire demeanor was, that I was going to be in for a doozy. I wish I came up with a polite reason to excuse myself and even pay a cancellation fee versus getting my hair butchered and dyed the way it was. This poor woman reeked of alcohol, and not your Saturday after Brunch with the Girls amount (still able to drive home), eyes wide open and was overly chatty. These things I can handle (to an extent and if I am at a restaurant and talking to my friends) but then this overwhelming personal aggression comes in. There's usually a type of person that behaves this way, and it is NOT a type one finds in El Dorado Hills. So here we went, for hours. The experience though, it was like a really bad and tacky date. I just wanted to melt away in my phone and be in peace, but she kept looking over my shoulder and...just.. butting...in...on what I was doing. Everything. I completely understand that we are together for quite some time, so I just dismissed this. It was a lot though. Moments of peace engulfed me only when I went to use the restroom and when she left to do something. At that time, I wish I spoke another language, so that I could text in another language my Sister. I couldn't leave. I had highlights coming to fruition. Let's talk about my hair. My hair was down to my mid back, had layers and was dyed end of last Summer. I liked it but wanted something Spring and anew. We did layers and knocked off about 4 inches. The hair cut was not horrible by any means, but a young artist at a Great Clips would have done an equal job for the cut and far less price. I had a few chunks in weird areas that didn't make sense. The color though....that's the part I am not happy about. Lindsey did what she wanted and what she thought would look good on maybe her instead of me? I think the color came out too light for my skin tone. I don't wear tons of makeup to cover up like her, so it didn't really make sense to me, but she presented these things so well. Even after I showed a really nice picture of what I was looking for. It did not come out that way. So, lessons learned. You can't take it back but you sure can avoid it with the help from fellow Yelper's! Do your research. Ask if they can do EXACTLY what you are looking for and if not, suggestions and color samples. I took my daughter to get a cut with Sydney, she trimmed and curled my daughter's hair and she loved it. Sydney was great with my daughter and her hair looked beautiful when she was done. The salon is lovely and clean inside. We will definitely be back. read more

Started my birthday day off right by having Christy cut off the dead ends and give my hair an updated style. Christy did an amazing job with my hair. She used "Behave" products to soften it up and control the frizz. Christy is great and also offers makeup application for everyday or special occasions. read more

Just wanted to say that no one ever called me back even after I spent several minutes telling the receptionist what I was looking for. Disappointing. I showed up for my appointment with Leah at 9:30 AM sharp and when I inquired at reception, I was told to have a seat and wait. 30 minutes later, I still hadn't seen Leah so I followed up. Turns out she wasn't at the salon! They called her and she got on the phone with me and apologized as she didn't have me down on her schedule (despite the fact that I had confirmed with her by text the week before). She asked if I wanted to reschedule, to which I replied yes. She told me that she was going to text me immediately after the call. An hour later, she asked me if the 29th would work. I replied, "What time?". Hah! She never texted me back. This is just beyond appalling. I guess I'll have to go somewhere else. Terrible. read more

I have followed Cindy from salon to salon and was thrilled to follow her to this one...since she is now the founder and co-owner of Thrive! Yay!! She does great nails, the vibe is cool and everyone is friendly amd professional. Taylor does incredible nail-art if you need some eye-catching nails. Too many great hair stylists to name. You can't go wrong with anyone here. They also have massage and facials and Cindy also does permanent makeup. They have newly added to their cadre of professionals a doctor who does Botox. Well this is my "go-to" place now and I love it. Sue does my nails and is awesome. She really pampers me with my mani-pedi's and I feel like we've been friends forever and not just a year. Megan takes care of my eyebrows and any facial hair I may have popping out. She is adorable, sweet and gentle. I followed her over from another place that closed and I'm so happy I did. Daniella cuts and styles my hair. I love getting my hair washed and would love to fall asleep while she's cutting my hair but I just enjoy talking with her too much to sleep. From what I can tell you can't go wrong with any of their staff, ladies or gentlemen. They are all so personable and just make you enjoy coming in. read more
