The people who work here have figured out the best blend of helpful while leaving you to figure out how they can help you. (I was measured for my backpacks here. Trust me, the measurement matters!) I've purchased multiple backpacks and shoes from this store for my hiking journeys, and I have not been disappointed in any item. Their return policy is excellent. I've only had to use it a few times but it has always been easy (you need a receipt though!) I've been an REI member since 2006. In the early days, I would get $20-$30 back from my purchases because I was always stocking up. It's a great loyalty program. Today I bought replacement hiking shoes and a new item - water purification tablets! The store has a new layout so I also took some time to see how they switched things around. And if you can't find what you're looking for, ask someone because they can order it for you and have it shipped to your home.

When my car still wouldn't start, he invited me in to keep warm and comfortable while I wait things out. The team must've been aware of my failed jump, because as soon as I walked it, I was welcomed with a warm hello from the team. Warren especially was kind, we offered me a hot cup of coffee, a comfortable couch and ESPN on the TV. I felt like I was keep warm in a logged cabin while I waited for my husband to come my car rescue. Stuart and team were generous with their space. Needless to say, this shop will go above and beyond for you. I will be shopping at High Country Outfitters for all future gifts for my husband- they have all his favorite brands and out of this word customer service!

I placed an online order for an Arc'teryx Men's Cerium Vest. My order was received, processed and shipped within a day. When the package arrived, I was pleasantly surprised to find my new vest neatly folded and placed in tissue paper in its shipping box, not wadded up in some plastic bag in typical Amazon fashion. As an additional "white glove" touch, they included a nice , hand-signed (by "Bill") Thank You card expression their appreciation for my order. They even included a High Country sticker just to be nice and maybe for a little free advertising :-) I know... I know... it's not like they came over and washed my car, but it's the thought that counts.
