If properly cared for they will last nearly a lifetime. They are just nearly indestructible. I have been buying Red Wings for years. I easily have a dozen pair of various pairs of shoes and boots by now. In my experience , all of the RW stores are always a pleasure to deal with. If they don't have what you want in stock, they can get it in a couple of days. On the very rare occasion when I have had an issue, the customer service, both locally and at corporate in Minnesota, has always been enthusiastic to resolve the matter 100% to my satisfaction. I called today to find out about repaired and not only is it out of warranty, but it can't be resold. I was sold a pair of shoes that cannot be resoled. He was more than happy to offer me $30 off of my next pair of shoes. However since my last pair of $40 Walmart shoes lasted me longer than this pair of shoes, unless somebody calls me to make this better I will never be visiting the store again and will tell all my friends that they should not be buying these shoes because the company won't back you up. I had such high expectations rom my red wing shoes. Very very disappointed. Until they split they were the most comfortable shoes I've ever owned. But I'm not going to be replacing a pair of shoes every year.
