Dr. Rad and his team in College Park are TOP NOTCH! I went in for a consultation this morning and the patient service was amazing from start to finish. I did not wait for more than 5 minutes to be called back for my preliminary photos. The person who took my photos was professional and courteous, which seems to be the theme of the office. The photos were quick and then I saw Dr. Rad about 4-5 minutes later, if even that long. He came in and explained my options to me, being very specific about my dental issues and potential paths we could take to correcting my bite. After I let him know I was ready to proceed with a treatment plan, Julia immediately came in with a payment plan already outlined as well as a pay in full option in case I was interested. We quickly reviewed the paperwork and I went back for my x-rays so my aligners could be created. I know I'm using the word "quickly" a lot here, but at no point did I feel rushed. Even when I got back to the front office to make my payment, sign paperwork and schedule my next appointment, I felt very comfortable and treated extremely well by all of the employees. Very easy location to find with a lot of parking. As soon as I walked in the receptionist were very welcoming. Since I did my paperwork online the check in was easy and simple. They also have a computerized self checkin which I thought was cool and the receptionist will show you how to use it if its your first visit to the office. I had a great experience here. The staff is all wonderful. Very pleasant and willingness to assist you. I came here for a consultation to see about my options for orthodontic treatment. They offer a free consultation and when you go they take pictures of your profile and different angles of your teeth. Once the photographs are taken the doctor comes in and explain the process, what he recommends and how long the treatment will be for. Dr. Mehdy is such a calm down to earth real orthodontics. He explains everything with ease and answers all questions you may have for him no matter how significant it is. So when I started my ortho treatment I was working at a dental office that did ortho but I wanted to come to dr. Rad because even from the consultation visit everyone was so nice. Even if they really had no idea who the hell u were you would never know it everyone from the front to the back of the office would address you by your name felt like you were family. What is worse than learning that you need to wear braces at the age 29? Letting anyone but Dr. Rad do your treatment! Dr. Rad were my "second opinion" orthodontists and boy am I glad I went with them. These guys are awesome. The offices are very modern and friendly. I've been to their office in Potomac and Bethesda, and those are a true state of the art offices. However, the office nearest to me was in College Park, and knowing College Park I was not thrilled. But I was in for a surprise. Their College Park office is just as nice as the others. Not as big, but very clean and modern with a nice comfortable waiting room, nice private consultation rooms, and an excellent operatory. The staff is amazing. Front desk ladies are as friendly as it gets. The assistants are very knowledgeable and capable of doing a lot of stuff. Both Drs. Rad are great to talk to. They were very compassionate and helpful during the entire treatment given that I had to wear braces as a 29 year old who does a ton of public speaking. During each appointment they clearly explained my progress and the direction they wanted to move in, and they ensured that I really understood what the end goal was and how they intended to get me there. My treatment was functional in nature, but the cosmetic aspect followed, just like they said it would. It was great to feel the bite finally aligning in a way that it has never aligned for me. While strict on the treatment (as they should be, given the short treatment schedule they had me on to help me get back to my normal public speaking self), they were also very understanding. So much so that they brought me in several times in the last month of treatment to ensure I would be out of braces before my birthday cruise trip. Most importantly, this horrible experience of wearing braces, wasn't horrible at all. And it is thanks to Drs. Rad and their staff, because they taught me to emBRACE (heh heh) my situation and realize that I am doing something for myself and something that will help me in a long run. I love that Rad Orthodontics has multiple locations! I used to predominantly go to the Bethesda office, but for convenience, I started going in to the Greenbelt office as well - Dr. Mehdy predominantly manages this location. Dr. Mehdy is very hands-on with his patients. He continues to be realistic in explaining to me what I can expect, and what my next steps would need to be in order for me to reach the results I am seeking. Much like the Bethesda office, the staffs at the Greenbelt office are very warm and welcoming. Julia, Dori, Brenda - they are very cheerful ladies. When I visited the Greenbelt location, I mostly saw Jen and she picks up on the smallest details. I am not sure how other doctors celebrate getting braces off with their patients but Rad Orthodontics makes it special. A little background: My 2012 New Year's Resolution was to finally fix my smile, something that had been bothering me since college. I have a cross-bite, and while most people don't notice it, I do, and it had been annoying me for a while. I used a list from the Washingtonian to find local, highly rated orthodontists in my area and started consultations one by one. Dr. David Rad was the third and last orthodontist I visited. As a 26 year old woman, I was not thrilled with the idea of conventional braces, especially when I wasn't 100% sure my cross-bite could even be corrected, but Dr. Rad sat me down and gave me a realistic plan and promised me my bite was something he could fix. The doctors were always honest with me and the staff were pleasant and accommodating. (Once I thought I broke a bracket and they let me walk in, same day, to fix it; turns out it wasn't broken and I am just crazy, but they didn't mind.) Everyone was so supportive throughout the entire process. Most importantly, they are all perfectionists and they are amazing at what they do. Even when I thought my teeth were great, Dr. Rad noticed two little things that, once corrected, made them perfect. It's not easy being a professional woman with braces, keeping a toothbrush and wax in your purse "just in case", but I can honestly say this was the best New Year's Resolution I have ever made and I am incredibly happy with the results. Just finished my 2.5 year Invisalign treatment with Rad Orthodontics and it's such a bittersweet feeling - on one end, I'm very happy with my smile and on the other, I'm pretty sad that I don't need to come back due to their excellent work! I just turned 25 years old and finished my Invisalign treatment today after 1 year and 1 month. My Story: I never had any braces or straightening treatment before. I had very crowded teeth and a lot of other Ortho's said they needed to extract at least 2 teeth to treat me. I seriously did not want to do this and when I got to Dr. Mehdy Rad, I told him that. He examined and was confident we didn't have to. In addition, I had TMJD, a painful jaw joint dysfunction that affected my eating and even yawning, and he was confident we could fix that through invisalign treatment as well. My Results: Today, I am happy to say I am absolutely, 100% satisfied with my Invisalign treatment at Rad Orthodontics and Dr. Rad was completely correct.The staff is incredible and professional. Dr. Rad is clear, honest and knowledgeable - not to mention he has a great sense of humor! I've been treated at both the College Park branch and Potomac branch. I just went in today and got my retainers after 1 year and 1 month treatment. When I initially began, they told me it would be at the least 1 year and at the most 1&1/2 to 2 years. Well, after 1 year and 1 month, I am completely finished and wearing retainers. For those with TMJD***I suffered with this jaw joint dysfunction for a very long time and was out of ideas. I clenched my teeth a lot at night which probably contributed to this. This was the reason I mostly decided to get my teeth straightened as a potential way to treat my jaw, but of course because I wanted straight teeth as well. Dr. Rad told me that the invisalign treatment could really improve this problem and take away the pain - and boy did I have a lot of pain. And sure enough, as the treatment went on, the pain began to disappear and is now quite non existent. I still need to watch what I eat (things too hard) since my joint will probably always bother me here and there, but so far it's been totally fine ever since my invisalign treatment. It's quite a miracle to me. My Advice: Follow Dr. Rad's instructions and prepare questions to ask him before each appointment so you're fully aware of your treatment. Don't be afraid of the weirdness your mouth feels at first - it'll adjust and having the clear invisalign liners on will feel natural. Do it correctly and it'll be over sooner than you realize - not to mention, you'll have great results to last a lifetime. To Dr. Mehdy Rad and Staff: You are all wonderful. I've had the unlucky experience of getting braces twice (because I didn't wear that darn retainer) but had the lucky experience of being treated by Dr. Rad and Dr. Dave twice.
