I've gone to multiple consultations with different orthodontic offices around the DMV finding prices so I'm very familiar with how these consultations usually go. I also spent a lot of time looking through their before and afters and felt like I could relate to some of the cases, which made me feel confident I'd be a good candidate. Unfortunately, that didn't end up being the case. What isn't clearly explained is that they mainly handle minor cases, not more complex ones. I have a crossbite, edge to edge bite, and short roots on only the front 2 teeth, so I understand my case isn't simple, but that limitation should be made clear upfront. I took a day off work for the first time in over a year and drove an hour to get there. Dr. Reza was very kind and professional, but some of the staff came off a bit short and distant. It was busy, which I understand, but the overall experience felt rushed. Another thing that stood out to me was during the x-rays, I wasn't asked to remove any jewelry or given a protective vest, which felt dangerous and honestly a bit unprofessional considering I was right in front of an x-ray machine (twice.) I was told my only option with them was to only fix my front six teeth, not my full bite or molars. I seriously considered it especially when I asked if that would significantly reduce the cost, Dr. Reza said yes. However, when I sat down for pricing, it ended up being even higher than what's advertised online, just to treat those six teeth. The teeth whitening surcharge cannot be taken off confirmed by the consultant. But I did love that there is a lifetime warranty for $25 for a loss or broken retainer after the retainer program is paid for (adding $500-600) to the bill. I even asked if pricing was based on each individual case, and I was told no, that the pricing is set based on what's on their papers. That didn't really sit right with me, especially after being told it would be reduced + what's online. When I asked if I could speak with the Dr.Reza again to the pricing consultant after he stepped out, I wasn't able to since he was across the room. So I feel like some of my questions were left unanswered and felt lost in my journey again. If you have anything beyond a minor case. I would honestly steer away and look into other options. This seems better suited for simple, easier cases. They need more transparency about what they can actually treat and more consistency. Edit: I also requested my X rays after my consultation, which I usually do at other orthodontic offices, and was told there is a $25 charge for them. I've never been charged for this elsewhere so that felt a bit off. I told the lady I wasn't going to argue about it, but it just added to my overall experience.

Proceeded to put me on hold to 3. Finish typing out her work on the computer. I know because she didn't actually put me on hold, just threw the phone down and I heard all the typing. Then after 6+ minutes, she picked up the phone and hung it up... So I call back and had to give her all the information I just told her minutes before. " I am calling to reschedule my appt" her: "What is your name?" I give her my name... and then she says " ok, you're all set." Ma'am. We didn't reschedule anything yet. Pay attention to the customer calling on the phone and put your work to the side for a second. This happened every time I called, so then they gave the option of texting the office. Great! But they don't answer the text for days. You have to send multiple texts. Their ortho work is good but that front office staff needs customer service training. It's really bad.

I was a satisfied patient of Dr. Maitland's, and I was a little apprehensive about the transition, to be honest. I had my first appointment with Dr. Angole-Wynn today--teeth cleaning and a minor repair to a previous filling. She is a very personable doctor and has a very gentle touch. We discussed an issue that might require dental work in the future and she counseled a wait-and-see approach, which I was happy with. Prior to switching to Dr. Maitland a few years ago, I had another dentist who struck me as always seeming to be looking for more business in my mouth. I was happy to find that Dr. Angole-Wynn is not that way at all. I will be going back to her as my regular dentist. While this looks like the first review of her on Yelp, I will note that there are 43 other reviews of her on Google--42 of which are 5 stars and one with 4 stars.

I asked them that, why did no one call nor text me to let me know that my treatment was about to expire? They said it was not their responsibility. They were rude, nonchalant, no empathy and didn't care because they had already been paid. I was so upset and disappointed. They think this is over, but I am willing to take this as far as I can. Each time, it has been a pretty pleasant experience. We spent no longer than 3-5 minutes waiting to be taken back, if that, and my daughter never left with any tears. The dental hygienists were patient and understanding and met my daughter where she was at. She did not get any x-rays done her first time because she was afraid but the next time around, she was very brave and got the job done :). I like how bright and open the physical space is. I wish there was some kind of separation between the chairs, however, to give a little more privacy. It's probably not possible given the space, but it was a thought I had. I also love that the kiddos get a token and a special treat at the end of the visit... she looked forward to that the most. The only reason why I deducted a star is because one of the assistants at the front told me that they did accept my dental insurance when I spoke to her on the phone. I gave my new card at the next appointment (previously we were using medical insurance) but they still billed the old card I had on file. It turns out, they did not accept my insurance so they billed the old card I had on file (my medical insurance). Although it wasn't an expensive co-pay, I could have saved money by visiting a dental office that did in fact accept the insurance that we now had.
