Second time, as good as first! Loved the leather couch in front, nice nook to sit with a couple of friends. The shop is bright, clean and comfortable! Great pastry from Bread & Friends! The morning bun is the best! Coffee is excellent and service is prompt!

We had a delicious light breakfast at Radial this morning. A hot chai with vanilla, the special gingerbread latte, morning bun and croissant blew us away! A perfect way to start the morning. The breakfast sandwich was good, but I could tell it was reheated, although I didn't mind. A great cafe spot!

Cute coffee shop in downtown Portland. I got a latte and it was good. A little pricey for the size of the latte but it was good. It has a large floor plan with lots of seating. The service was friendly!

I can see this quickly becoming a spot for folks to work-from-home at or to have meetings from. It's a very modern, clean, enormous space located directly across from the GMRI (meaning there's plenty of paid and free on-street parking if you know where to look!) with floor to ceiling windows that allow light - even on gray days - to flood the room. Lots of seating options available, whether that's a communal picnic table or a solo wingback. While the folks who work here seem friendly and accommodating and eager and welcoming, for me the coffee is just not good. A basic cup of black hot coffee was a miss. The specialty lattes I tried were also misses. Everything just seemed watery and thin and flavorless. Also: Radial, I think, is a Connecticut based company? Which is fine, but - as a local - I'd rather support a Maine-based coffee shop serving beans from a Maine-based business (like 44 North or Carrabassett Coffee or Rock City or Time & Tide or Wicked Joe or Tandem or Speckled Ax or Coffee By Design). Especially when we have such exceptional options. The pastries come from Bread and Friends; but, to be fair, *a lot* of other places in town now also offer the exact same selection from Bread and Friends every day now too. I'm sure this will be someone's new favorite coffee shop, it's just not mine.

This is Radial's second coffee shop location with their first being in Vernon CT. They decided on a solid spot on commercial street and have a warm and inviting space that appears very welcoming to people working from home with many laptops out. A variety of seating is available with some couches, some larger tables and more barstool with counter seating too. We lucked out and due to it being Sunday snagged a free parking spot directly in front of the shop. All of the staff were welcoming and drinks were made quickly and delivered with a smile. Also another staff member walked around at least once during our visit asking if he could grab anyone water or anything. Their menu is what you'd expect from a coffee shop with all the classic coffees/teas and some seasonally flavored lattes. I enjoyed a delicious ginger maple latte and my wife enjoyed her iced chai! We also enjoyed a delicious warmed chocolate croissant from Bread & Friends! Overall I think this is a solid addition to the coffee shops in Portland with tasty drinks with the addition of the guest pastries too! The lack of one star is due to me personally having other similar spots I prefer slightly more. Give it a try though, it may become your go to coffee shop or your spot to grab a pastry!

I've had a struggle finding good coffee in old port until Radial coffee opened. The lattes are soooo smooth - just delicious! And what takes this place up another level is the baked good are from Bread and Friends, my all time favorite breakfast and bakery place. Just thrilled I don't have to wait 45 minutes for a morning bun. Service is outstanding! The manager greets each of the guests. The space is industrial madden but very comfortable and spacious. We'll be back!

This place was pretty cool. They had baked goods at the counter and I got a morning bun - not pictured but it was really good. Also had two coffees one cold brew and one seasonal flavor - pistachio. The guy working was really cool and kept up a good conversation as he was preparing my coffees. Chill vibes and good coffee!

Radial Coffee is a nice add to Commercial Street! With a spacious, bright, and centrally-located space, they're great for those who want to pop off the busy streets of Portland for a quick coffee, tea, or pastry. Their menu is smaller-- limited to the classic coffee, chais, matcha, and standard baked goods, but everything is delicious and baked to perfection. Their pop tarts (and maybe more) are from Bread and Friends. Inside, you'll find a great amount of seating, including cozy lounge chairs, window-facing seats, small tables, and bench style seating for larger groups. Given the number of laptops I saw open, I assume they have wifi. Much less crowded than Arabica, persay, so great for those who work remotely! Modern decor, well lit, good drinks and light snacks, and super friendly staff. Only docked one star because there are other, similar spots, but I strongly encourage any of you to make Radial your new favorite coffee shop!

Nice place to read and enjoy a coffee! Ty e space has an industrial but cozy feel to it. Staff is very welcoming and friendly. Radial has a great vibe and the playlist almost always captures the mood of the morning. The cortado always hits and the house made syrups are always a delicious change of pace. The seasonal drinks are fun and different from most other places. The pastries from Bread & Friends are good, but I was told they are looking into offering their own breakfast options soon as well. Although Portland has many coffee shops already, Radial is a great addition to the lineup.

what a great addition to commercial st! in the midst of businesses seemingly closing all the time in portland, it's great to see a new place pop up! the place is gorgeous - they've clearly invested a lot into the space. we got the spiced honey latte, a caramel latte, and a chocolate croissant. all great! you could smell the honey coming off of the latte, it was so delicious. the staff was also very friendly, they put us on their polaroid wall. such a cute idea! all-in-all great place, we'll be back!

This place seems like a great coffee spot upon entering with big bright sunny windows and a simple and clean decor. We were excited to try what sounded like a delicious and different breakfast sandwich until we were up charged $6 to sub the inedible ciabatta for a croissant. The coffee was just good. The people seemed nice but the cashier was confused when my husband told him both of our coffee orders. The "specials" list was almost lost on the counter...it definitely should have been displayed a better way. Nice try radial.

I'm a big fan of aesthetics and a good drip coffee. This place has both. Has a good amount of seating. Line was short and got our orders out quick. Come here if you are new in town.

After having some of the bread prior to our meals at a few restaurants, we found out the bread is locally sourced at a sister business right around the corner from where ate the night before. There is parking avail for customers in the lot for 30 mins, we prob waited about 20 mins and crossed the threshold into baked goods heaven. There was so much to select from - we got pastries, cookies, pizza and bread - and we pretty much liked everything. Our least favorite was the morning bun with walnuts - we didn't have it right away so that might've been part of the issue. Just note that the bread served at the restaurants aren't available until 2pm - we were leaving that morning so we weren't going wait for it. We opted for other loaves instead and they didn't disappoint. If you want something yummy and fresh - make sure to stop by here before heading out of Portland. I do wish the setup was a bit more conducive to the big crowds as there isn't much space from the front door to the counter but still a fantastic find!

There is a silver lining though, they will still be operating their Forest Ave pickup location and you'll still find their pastries at many other local establishments. To ensure we did not miss out on anything we arrived right at opening. A line already formed but once we located parking we jumped in. Despite the small space the three workers had such a great system going for keeping the line moving! Despite the line of everyone getting their Belleville fix they had everything in stock and about 9 different pastry options. Since it was our first visit we wanted to get a variety of pastries to try a few. Seeing so much positive talk about their croissants we needed a classic version of that, a Pain au Chocolat, Morning Bun, and lastly a Palmier (they describe it as a caramelized puff pastry cookie). Drink wise my wife got an iced lavender latte and I got an iced chai latte. Drinks were good and all the pastries were phenomenal. My wife has found a new favorite pastry with the palmier.
