HIGHLY RECOMMEND! While working with clients on Hilton Head Island, I dined at Radici in Bluffton; it was an experience I shall not soon forget. The interior decor is chic, modern, clean, and illuminated beautifully; there are tiny black LED lamps on the tables which highlight the food without blinding the guests. Our server, Michelle, was friendly, welcoming, and attentive; she kept the water-glasses filled and the courses served. The restaurant features an open-air kitchen with a wrap-around bar; I was introduced to the chef and was able to speak with him in my (limited) Italian. It was truly wonderful to hear and feel his enthusiasm for excellent, northern Italian cooking! The menu is very small...and that is a good thing. By focussing on only a few dishes, the chef and his team are able to provide an unforgettable culinary experience. The highlight of our dinner was the halibut collar which, if you've never enjoyed, I highly recommend. OH. MY. GOD. Although I have enjoyed many fish courses in my life, this is, was, and remains one of those special meals which I shall remember for a very long time. It was truly exceptional: rhythmic with flavour and firm with texture, sauced gently but appropriately and (absolutely) served piping hot on the plate. I must confess I do not recall the other dishes but they were all very good. I believe there was a squid hors-d'oeuvre which I enjoyed, and a very special 'Black Leather' cocktail (?). I cannot remember a better meal than this, not in a very long time. I've often complained of the lack of good food in the Hilton Head/Bluffton area, and Radici is a wonderful exception. I took my family here for Christmas Eve dinner with the intention of doing the tasting menu. We reserved seats at the bar that runs the length of the restaurant, and were seated promptly. Service was very friendly, and we had a great view of the open concept kitchen. Throughout the meal the chef and waitstaff would chat with us and explain what all was on our plates. We started with cocktails. I ordered The Radici, which had mezcal and beet juice, certainly not a common combination in my experience. They have an aperol spritz equivalent that my mother and girlfriend raved over as quite refreshing. The meal started with an oyster as an amuse bouche, a great local touch given the popularity of oysters in the area. Stuck with seafood for the first course, with halibut flan being something I'm still a bit confused by as a concept, though that did not stop me from enjoying it. The second course continued to be innovative relative to what is usually found in the area, with ravioli stuffed with broth and filling on the outside. Third course was lamb, and was well done. Finally dessert was a roasted panettone for Christmas Eve that was very tasty with chocolate cream. One small improvement would be the option to pair the tasting menu with wine selections, but we were able to get along fairly well with some help from the waiter ordering a couple of bottles of wine. My husband and I enjoyed a fabulous dinner here last night. The food was absolutely delicious and the entire waitstaff was wonderful, and attentive without being "too much". Great food, great service, great ambiance, best Italian here or Savanah or HH. We had the Focaccia, well worth $5, and the Tasting Menu, which was four courses plus an Amuse Bouche for only $80. The grilled shrimp and sauce was to die for, and the Wagyu cheeks were amazing. They give you a steak knife, but you could cut the beef with a fork. The peach panna cotta was beaten out taste wise by the presentation, a red rose shape on a shortbread cookie with white chocolate sauce. Get to Radici! read more

I hesitate to write this review. Only because I want nothing more than to make sure we can always get a reservation. Un-be-leivable. From greeting to farewell, and every bite in between. Service 5 stars. Presentation 5 stars. Every bite of the food, from bread to desert was delicious. My wife has many allergies, and Matia the chef catered to every one of them. Eric our server was outstanding. I watched the kitchen staff take a plate that didn't have a perfect presentation off the delivery line and re-do it entirely. The pride this resterant put into every single stage of our dinner was phenomenal. My only concern is, too many people find out about it. We always like to try to support local businesses in our lovely town where possible, and so for my Aunts 80th Birthday, a reservation that I'd made weeks ago, last night we dined at RADICI, (formerly Pour Richard's). phoned ahead to tell them about the special occasion etc... The food was ok, the portion size was tiny to say the least, even to an 80 year old!, Ordered some focaccia bread for the table to start, came with olive oil, had to ask for balsamic, individual small plates with the bread brought to the table, we asked for a little more, was then charged twice for another small serving of bread, crazy. I had the pasta and the squid, very over salted, generally most of the dishes were disappointing, even had to ask for some cheese for the pasta, which the server 'wasn't sure they had'!, after I'd heard the table behind being offered it. The restaurant is basically trying to sell itself as Michelin star but it doesn't come close, having eaten all over the world, I can assure you of that. The biggest insult on an over $300 bill for 3 people, was that they couldn't even bring out a small dessert for my Aunt, so I mentioned something to the server about it, they then brought out a dinner plate and the chef had just written Happy Birthday in a chocolate sauce on it, I spoke to another female server on how disappointing this was, she said she'd speak to the chef about it, she never returned and nothing further was done. This of course was a pathetic and sad effort all round, and I was so disappointed in what was supposed to be a wonderful celebration night. We will not be returning, and I WILL be spreading the word, and personally I don't think this place will be a long term survival, unlike Pour Richard's which was completely on point for many years. read more

I really do not have enough positive things to say about this place and the owner/operators. We were staying at the montage and our concierge recommended this place highly. It is an open kitchen concept and we ended up sitting in the perfect position to see all of the dishes that were made, which actually made our visit difficult because we ended up wanting one of everything lol. The owners were sooooo friendly and explained all the dishes to us despite being absolutely slammed. When I say this is authentic, they just moved from Italy in the past few years. The ravioli was some of the best I have ever had. When we realized we could not order all of what we wanted, we canceled our reservation at the river house for the following night and came back again. Once again, the food was absolutely amazing, and the owners knocked it out of the park in terms of hospitality. We will definitely be visiting again on our next trip! read more

Terrible. I went there for my son's birthday, there were four of us. Two of us had the ribeye. It was served sliced longways with the grain, lukewarm, smothered in sauce. 1) I'm a grown man, I can cut my own steak. 2) any decent steak joint serves a steak sizzling. This was not. Clearly sous vide and then finished on a grill. 3) what are you hiding smothering in sauce? One of us had the venison. Again, smothered in sauce, a few beets, very small proportion. And one of us had the raviolis which were solid. Overpriced and poor quality. Italian Chop House? I don't think so. Will not go back. read more

Mattia, Giandomenico, & Camilla have really done something special here in Bluffton. From the second we walked in the door we felt like we were both family and in the presence of greatness. Three hours later, after a bottle of amazing wine, carefully crafted and plated dishes such as beef carpaccio, prime rib with a nduja smoked sauce, venison cooked to absolute perfection, and a tonka bean panna cotta that I didn't realize had been missing from my life all these years, we left so excited to come back again and again. These three came here from their Michilan starred resturants in Italy a few months ago with a dream to bring Italian fine dining to the Lowcountry and it will be a gift to this community for years to come. We have already been back a second time, because I couldn't stop dreaming about that panna cotta, and every single dish we tried was incredible. On our second visit we had the homemade focaccia bread (that takes like sourdough and fairy dust), the veal, the clam spaghetti, and more...all of it was amazing. It is a small menu, as with most fine dining, but with the carefully crafted and locally sourced ingredients, it doesn't need to be any bigger. If you are a party of two I highly recommend making your reservation at the Kitchen Bar Seating so you can enjoy watching the open kitchen work their magic. If you are a party of 3 or more, I recommend the dining room. You can't go wrong. The service, the ambiance, the food, it's all so good! Bluffton has been waiting for an exquisite Italian restaurant for a long time, and it's finally here... Radici has a warm, inviting atmosphere, an exciting open kitchen concept, and is helped by Italian chefs who previously worked at a Michelin star restaurant in Calabria. The appetizers were outstanding, between the decadent broth with the caciucco to the amazing flavors of the caponet. The beet salad was colorful, fresh, and delicious, and the Tuscan neck ravioli (appetizer portion pictured) was to die for. Excellent friendly service with a smile, and overall a spectacular experience on ll counts. Radici will be a mainstay in the lowcountry for years to come and I can't wait to go back to try the other appetizers, pastas (black tajarin and spaghetti class, especially), and mains (the Chilean sea bas with mushroom cream and umami consomme is calling my name). Oh, and I forgot the delightful tonka bean panna cotta! If I could give this wonderful establishment 6 starts I would without hesitation. To be honest, I thought the place as an over rated. The service was excellent but the food just OK.

Went last night and had the tasting menu with a bottle of Nebbiolo. We sat at the bar and watched the wonderful chef and his sous chefs create every course for us. Eric was wonderful in helping select the wine as well as serving. The chef came over and introduced himself as he delivered our entrees. The starter was a black truffle beignet with a white truffle cream sauce. Next we had a halibut flan in between two flaky pastry layers. The third dish was a duck dish with mashed potatoes and sunchoke. Last was the egg custard with hazelnut cream topped with homemade vanilla ice cream.
