I've heard a lot of positive buzz regarding Radio Social on social media and in the local media, and the raves I heard about the lamb pita. I came specifically for the pita. Pros The place is HUGE! Lanes in the front and the back. More games (ski ball, table tennis, shuffle board, MORE bowling lanes) in the back. Two bars, plenty of seating, stylish decor. The service seems to be hit or miss based on Yelp reviews. We felt that the servers were awesome (for a Saturday night). The bartenders were all very attentive. The hummus and Kubaneh pull-apart breads and dips were UNREAL. They were soooo good, we ordered second orders of each (for our group of four). I've never done that before, but lord almighty, that pull-apart bread could end wars... Cons The menu itself is out there. It's adventurous, but it doesn't seem to mesh well with playing games. When I think about bowling, I don't think about octopus. Same goes for that lamb pita. The first bite was alright, but it got uncomfortably heavy at the end of each pita. I won't mention what it did to me digestively, because this is a classy review service. All-in-all, I came away from Radio Social feeling pretty lukewarm about my experience. This is my new favorite bowling place! I paid only $13 to book a lane for an hour, and the shoe rental was free. The building is absolutely gorgeous inside, with high class bar food and a specialty whiskey bar in back. I sat on a comfortable couch in my cute bowling shoes with a glass of wine and a grilled avocado dish; and I kicked the boys' butts. It was heaven. :) Thing to know: You have to call and book a lane at least 24 hours in advance. You will generally get the answering machine (in my experience) but they will call you back. Ah.. a new bowling alley is in town or is it a bar or restaurant or????? Listen I've now been here enough times to give it a proper review. What I will tell you is read the reviews but also experience it for yourself. On that note.. this concept of cleaning up the bowling alley has been done with Lucky Strike in LA, Ten Pin in Chicago (that opened in the early 00's) and Brooklyn Bowl in NYC so this concept in essence coming to Rochester is over a decade plus old. It seems here it takes at least 3-5 years for the trends to come here.. listen the food scene is getting better day by day.. ok the man and group who owned Clover Lanes is responsible for this.. Lots of lanes to bowl $15 an hour, they also have billiards (pool table) Jenga, Darts and other stuff. They also have a whiskey/Scotch Bar. They do "dinner" Tuesday-Sunday. They have apps and cocktails they are $10 a piece well done and strong.. the apps price wise $10 and up are they worth the price yes and no.. if I order hummus I want enough pita or whatever. Don't tell me "it's all about the hummus" sorry until you all win a James Beard Award take a powder dudes... The prices for the dinner food I'm confused is this Cure or Good Luck? Just an FYI one of the owners of Good Luck is the Director of Food and Beverage so... and the chef has decided to take the food in a middle eastern direction. They get spice blends made for them from La Boite which is in NYC and the owner Lior is a master spice blender. So that's cool but if your coming to bowl you don't care.. you want decent food and cheap and or decent beer on tap and the same for booze. Now a lot of the leagues who bowled are coming here but to be frank I think they Radio Social is gonna marginalize a lot of people. Yes Rochester is one of the Top Ten Places for Hipsters to Live but... but... The venue is cool, the concept is cool, the food is pretty good as are the cocktails.. but for the price ... no.. sorry. I've had the Chicken Balls they are tasty, the Wings are Meaty and succulent but can't you give a wet nap they are mad messy.. the hummus is tasty but if you want more bread it costs $2.00 and it's made to order. They had a desert while we were there a fabulous Turkish Coffee Ice Cream Sandwich all homemade it was FABULOUS. By far one of the coolest bowling alleys I've been to. So much fun, Great all around service. Cindy the manager talked to us seeing how everything went. This is definitely a place to go with a group of friends, or coworkers after a long day in the office. The have corn hole, pool, jenga, basketball, ping pong, darts and more. The food here is delicious I got the wings definitely want to get those again. This is just a great place for fun. I like they have couches to sit on instead of hard chairs. Update to my review of the AMAZING food we've had in the main dining room -- this review is for the bowling. SO MUCH FUN!!!!! Be sure to call early to book a lane -- we took my scientist-husband's lab, to celebrate all of their hard work and the end of the semester. Ordered all kinds of YUMMY pub food -- pizzas, fries, chicken parm. And pitchers of beer!!! And got to bowl as much as we could in a 2-hour window. Again, SO FUN! GREAT atmosphere, and fantastic service -- the staff kept checking to make sure we had everything we needed. They allowed enough time between reservations to sanitize the table & seats, lane, and entire area -- and all staff masked the entire time. We chose to stay masked unless we were eating/drinking, out of solidarity with the staff (heart emoji). Brought my fam here when they were visiting and had such a fun time! We reserved a lane (~$40 for an hour for six of us including rentals!) and had a blast! There are comfy couches for each lane as well as additional table seating behind. We didn't get to try to the yard games but there was a ping pong table, corn hole and a few others! I have been here a few times to go bowling. Prices are reasonable & your best bet is to make a reservation online. They keep the lighter weight balls behind the counter for the kids but if you ask they are usually willing to give you one, which I always ask for one due to bad wrists. The rest of the balls are out on the lanes. If you want a certain size you will have to go to each lane & look for it yourself. If you want bumpers just ask the desk to put them up for you. It did not look like they have the assistive ramp for those who are handicapped or for little kids but you may have to ask for it. Giant Jenga, cornhole, shuffleboard & the arcade games are an added bonus that can kill time while you are waiting for your lane reservation. I am glad that they opened a pizza place inside as I don't want to come to a bowling alley & have Mediterranean food. I mean really who decides that is what they want to eat when you bowl. You can come here without bowling & just to eat though. So I guess that's why. We received watered down soda from the bar & my friends who decided to eat here stated the food was lack luster & not worth the money. Maybe we will try the pizza when we come next time. Night started by putting in a reservation for 3 (2 adults and 1 toddler) for my birthday. Even though noted on the reservation by my husband that it was for my birthday, it was not acknowledged by the staff even once. Menu is geared towards adults without a doubt, which we knew. What we didn't know is that I couldn't order and pay for and grab my toddler dinner from the fast order area (which has pizza, burgers and fries). Unfortunately all she would try was the bread and we had to grab her dinner elsewhere afterwards. Frustrating when I'm a paying customer and will literally grab the food for myself. This is after racking up a $100 bill between my husband and I, so it's not like we weren't eating off the menu and tipping. All food was delicious except for 2 things. We got a mix of many dishes on the menu. I did not care for the flank steak or dessert. The steak was great (according to my husband) when it arrived. He ordered it medium cooked since I'm pregnant, but it arrived rare. I asked for my pieces to be cooked longer, and it came out charred. Like burned, black, char that tasted absolutely disgusting. I really wanted it, and when I asked if they could cook it medium without burning it on the outside, the waiter said it's charred on high heat, so unlikely. Unfortunately passed on that. The custard dessert was like eating yogurt with jelly on it. Good for a breakfast maybe. Lastly, we decided to go on the waitlist for bowling. When I went up to check where we were on the list, I was told they rearranged some things and it would be about 20 more mins. So we were waiting, and they skipped right over us because they "rearranged" things. Not such a great birthday dinner. Left frustrated. My dad, brother and I went to Radio Social for supper this evening. I love the space, very open and inviting. We had reservations and sat down and were greeted right away. Our waiter was very attentive and knowledgeable about the menu. It seems like the kitchen is still working out the kinks. Our food took close to an hour to come. The food was delicious, but more expensive than I would of thought for a bowling alley. The servings aren't huge, but tasty. I had the chicken and lamb sausage kebab (the cheapest entree at $17) it had a little kick, but I liked it. We booked lanes 3 weeks in advance for my sons birthday for 13 people and when we booked the lanes we had the seating the couches but when we arrived we were given seating with 6 chairs which could not accommodate the reservation. There we're 2 lanes open (21 and 22) for the hour we booked but we're told we could not use use those lanes because we did not arrive i. Time. We celebrated my friend's birthday here and it was super fun! I love the vibe and how the bowling is set up, especially in the back with the couches (I would request those lanes if I were you!). The area is huge and when I say huge I mean huuuuggeee! There is so much space to play shuffle board (yes they have that in the floor...so cool!) and giant jenga. The bowling is very inexpensive too, with only $15 per lane per hour. This is definitely a place to go if you want to enjoy a drink, a cool vibe and be a little bit active. The downfall to this place will be the bartenders and the food, unfortunately. I did not get any food because when I looked at the menu, it looked like I should be at the Revelry or Good Luck. It was too expensive and too fancy for bowling. I like how they have the option of fancy, but I think they should add some regular bar food for those who want to bowl and just hang out without spending a lot. Now the bartender in the back (there are two bars - the one in the back just does beer and basic drinks) was nice but not very interactive and seemed easily flustered. It wasn't busy when we went and she messed up our tab, which is okay, but it took at least a half hour for her to find someone to fix it and cancel the charge on the credit card. The pita tastes made in-house, also delicious. But there's nowhere near enough pita to eat the damn hummus. So I ask for more. "Sure, $2!" Are you kidding me? You serve a huge plate of hummus with only one pita, and then try to get me to pay for more? Yes! A million times yes! As someone who has lived in WNY her whole life, I always dreamed of moving somewhere "cooler". I am SO HAPPY that WNY has begun getting so many fun, interesting, and local spots such as Radio Social. It has made me change my entire mindset about moving far away. I have been here twice since their opening at the beginning of summer. The first time was mid-May with my family to celebrate my college graduation. I called two days ahead to reserve a lane and they were pre-booked for almost the whole night except for a 6pm time slot. We had been hoping to go later, after dinner, but we were okay with this. We had a great time! It's $15 to reserve a lane for an hour. I believe each lane fits up to six players (correct me if I'm wrong). We ordered delicious drinks at the bar and were allowed to take them to the bowling lanes. Overall, we had a great time and I was super impressed with the space. Last time I was at R.S. was a late August Tuesday night. We didn't reserve a lane beforehand and showed up at about 6:30pm. We were told a lane wouldn't open for another 45 mins to 1 hour. They gave us a beeper and we hung out at the bar. Drinks are somewhat pricey but it's worth it for the high quality experience. In the end, it only took about 20 mins for a lane to open up. With three players, we were able to play 2 games in the hour. HIGHLY RECOMMEND. Can't wait to go back! read more

They have all sorts of games, bowling alleys that come with couches and make you feel like your in your living room, food, drinks, they have it all. I particularly love the food here. It's a middle eastern style. We got the charred wings, lamb hummus, and crispy potato wedges. HUGE fan of the sauce on the bottom of the plate under the wings, it's some kind of pomegranate glaze and it is incredible. The lamb hummus is delicious. I get it every time I come. It was my first time at Radio Social tonight and it was a good time. We went for a bachelorette party and made reservations for two bowling lanes from 6-8:00pm. It's a good thing we did because the people coming in around dinner time had an hour wait for a lane if they didn't have a reservation. I love the concept, games + good and drink = good times. There are no waiters or waitresses that wait on you while bowling. You have to go get everything yourself and the walk to the bar from the bowling alley is pretty far. Not sure why they choose to do it this way but Its inconvenient. I don't know about you but when I'm bowling I want to drink beer and have bar food Like Mozzarella sticks, pizza, burgers, chicken fingers... etc They dont have a common food menu in my opinion and I couldn't bring myself to order any of it. I dont want peas, carrots or cauliflower.... i like trying new food but none of the options caught my eye...but hey, that's just me. My friend got the hummus and pita bread which was really good but they barely give you any pita bread and they charge you extra money if you want some more... and they give you a huge amount of hummus so I feel like they give you no choice but to have to order and pay extra for more. My friends and I went there for an hour of bowling last Saturday and were amazed by how large and modern the building was. We are used to bowling alleys that consists of cheap beer and a rough looking building that has not been updated in years. This is definitely not the case with Radio Social. We were shocked when we paid only $30 for six people bowl for an hour. Also, shoes are included with that price! We also realized quickly that the drinks were not that expensive either! At the front bar it cost roughly $10 for a cocktail and the beer ranged in price, depending on the product. I stuck with beer, but my boyfriend got the Salinger and said it was amazing. After a few rounds of bowling, we started to get hungry and ordered two pizzas and fries. Honestly, we were not expecting the food to be that great, just because we were still thinking about past bowling alley food we have had. However, we were pleasantly surprised! As far as dinner goes, the food is amazing, not huge portions rather perfect sizes and great to share with others in my opinion. Keep in mind it is a bowling alley so the dining room is next to the front lanes, so expect it to be loud. As far as bowling goes, the online system is nice to reserve, but I accidentally booked the wrong day, and they hold the lanes so I was still charged $30 for it because of that. I completely understand as it was my error, no hard feelings. I am no bowling alley owner or restaurateur but perhaps a courtesy call would be helpful if the guest doesn't show 15 min after reservation so you can release the lane for other guests, and charge maybe a portion of the fee. I know we get the email reminder the day of, but even then its easy to overlook (especially when you think you booked the right day and didn't think to double check), just a thought. More than just a bowling alley . Radio Social is a bowling destination. My partner and I reserved a lane, on a day where most could not get out , due to a snow storm . Having the place to ourselves (nearly) is something that is highly unlikely to happen , this place is always busy and with good reason. This is one stylish and unique place to bowl .The space is bright with a retro vibe , one of the highlights of it's design is the collection vintage 1950's ? radios that were on display . There is a shop attached to the bowling alley, where you can pick up a bowling ball, shoes , bags etc. The options were so eye catching, that I wanted to by a ball, shoes and a bag , even though the last time I bowled was about 5 years ago. They will measure and drill on spot. There is an impressive menu here, though we did not order when we were in . I understand a chef from NYC, who has competed on "Chopped" has joined as Executive Chef. Next time we will plan to order and I have several things on my list to try, including coal roasted avocado bread, charred sweet potato with brown butter yogurt , honeycomb and peanuts (I want this right now in fact, I have been thinking about it for a week) and on the dessert menu - Malabi (orange blossom custard with passion fruit crumble). There is a respectable beer , wine and cocktail list as well , of course with some creative cocktail options I hope to try in the future as we arrived in the am before the bar was open. We booked a reservation 2 weeks in advance for 15 people and requested the lanes with the couches and we had those lanes at the time of reservation but when the day came we were moved to a lanes with 4 chairs and could not accommodate our reservation. We were told everyone before us came and booked the bigger lanes before we arrived however lanes 21 and 22 were open until we left. Baklava french toast also delicious. Main menu needs work. Not very many appealing options, and I'm someone who usually doesn't struggle to find something to order.. Also, is the steak grass fed/local? For the price it should be. A restaurant like this should endeavor to serve locally sourced, organic , grass fed meats to set a standard. Blown away! Went in yesterday just to check out their brunch menu. Left delighted! First, the menu was awesome. So unique and bursting with crazy flavor. Second, The service was top notch. And I am pretty hard to please in this area having been a server/manager/owner of restaurants for a couple of decades. They were having issues with their decaf coffee so the manager sent someone down to Joe Bean to get me one! What?! So finally, that manager, Don. What an asset to the company. We got out of work early to make it there by 5:30 to bowl because that was the only time available. after 10 minutes of bowling our lanes broke and we're not able to be fixed for 30 minutes, so we were told there were no other lanes and they could not bump the party behind us back, so we were unable to bowl. we were given a refund for what we paid for bowling. we had to ask if there was a table that we could eat at since we had already ordered food. they said there was a table reserved for us, but when we arrived there it was filled with people. We observed 6 lanes for bowling that were empty for over 2 hours, but the staff insisted that there were no empty lanes. we then waited 1:15 for our food, only to find out that they never put the order in and waited another 30 minutes. The staff made no concessions for this, no discount, free drink, etc. It was not how I wanted to spend my birthday and the staff at radio social made it worse. read more

I really liked this place. The reviews seem to be all over the board so let me clarify: this is not your average old-school bowling alley. It is meant to be an EXPERIENCE. The music is loud. The decor is hip. The cocktails and menu are high end (and yes, more expensive than a typical bowling alley). It is similar in style to Lucky Strike if you've ever been to one of those. I, for one, am glad we have such a cool addition to Rochester. For those who complained about not being "hipster" enough, I cannot speak to this, but would recommend you try on a Sunday. We did and no reservation was needed as the place was almost dead right after opening at 12. The bowling is very reasonably priced but you are not allowed to bring food to the bowling lanes. Maybe they are trying to protect all the new furniture?? (Seriously, those sofas are nicer than what I have at home!) and on Sunday, the bar nearest the back bowling lanes is closed so we had to walk all the way to the front and order a drink and carry it back. No waitress comes to you to take orders. Not sure if that's the same on other days but that would have been nice. And on this particular day the family bowling was aplenty. It was really cute! Even lots of adult kids bowling with their parents! The man-bun, flannel wearing crowd was definitely outnumbered. As far as the food, they have a Sunday brunch menu. I ordered the pecan pancakes, which were delicious and filling and very sweet. My husband ordered the eggs in a little tiny frying pan (cannot remember what exactly). We felt this was way overpriced for the size of the item. The menu is a bit strange. They have like 8 different hummus options and then just a few other choices. If they want to specialize in hummus, great, but I would have liked to see several more entree items to pick from. Overall, I probably would not try the food again, but just drink and bowl, and maybe try a few of the other games like corn hole, shuffle board, etc as that seems to be the strength of this place. read more
