I had been a very happy customer till Extra Space bought the property. In the last 6 months my rate has increased TWICE. I recommend using any other facility.

I started renting from this facility in March 2025, and in the end of June 2025 I noticed mold was…read moregrowing in my unit. I pay for climate controlled services but the building my unit was located in was hot and humid (leading to the mold growth). I asked the office how long the unit had been out of AC and it had been down for a minimum of 2 weeks. I also have family who rent from this facility with a unit located in the same building and their belongings had began to mold as well. I lost over $2,000 in belongings due to their negligence. When the talk of compensation was brought to the table I was told that I could be 1. Move my belongings out of the unit and receive the reimbursement for the year i paid for and won't be using (i paid for a year and expect to get what i paid for and i have absolutely no way of moving my belongings that i was able to salvage to a different location) . Or 2. Receive a $25 compensation on my bill. There is no empathy or sympathy from the management at this location, I was also told that I am not allowed to know the owners name. I have yet to hear from the owner regarding the situation, just from the manager who refuses to take responsibility for the fact that no one who rents at this facility was ever notified that our belongings are not under the climate controlled services that we paid for. I was told that this is not their responsibility to notify their customers (even in the event of a rat infestation). They also claimed that this is not negligence on their part even though no one renting was notified and the issue is still not resolved (they claim to have been trying to fix the issue within these 2 weeks). In the event that we were notified I would be more understanding but that is not the case. I highly suggest if you rent from this location that you check on your belongings.
