So, I'm new to this kind of thing. In all my years of owning a cell phone, I have NEVER cracked a screen... until the other day. Lol. My phone is old. I have a Google Pixel 6 Pro. They're already on version 9 or so now. Anyway, I took my phone out of the case to use my wireless charger at night, went to the bathroom, and left the phone on a slanted surface. PLOP! I knew it wasn't good. Surely, my phone had more cracks than a sidewalk (I promise I wanted that joke to land better, but I digress). Anywho, I called my carrier, and they put in a claim with Asurion. The claim charge was only $29, which will be added to my next billing statement. They referred me to uBreakiFix. I initially went to the Sugarland location, but they didn't have my screen in stock, so I ended up at the Pearland location. Upon first walking in, it gives off the vibe of a phone accessory store, but obviously, their bread and butter is fixing broken devices. They double-checked my claim, got me registered, put my phone in repair mode, and told me it would be done the same day. I thought that was fantastic since I was expecting a few days for the repair. I gave them my work cell number to call when it was ready, but I found myself in this odd situation: should I leave the area and come back later (I live about 25 minutes away), or just hang out nearby until they were done? I decided on the latter. I grabbed some lunch, ran a few quick errands, and BOOM -- the text came through that my device was ready! Honestly, it took them less than three hours. My phone looks BRAND NEW. Better than it did before it got cracked, honestly. I was really dreading getting a replacement phone or a brand-new one because I have so many apps that I'd have to set up again. I didn't have time for that hassle. I brought my phone in for a battery replacement on Tuesday, June 2. During the repair, the back of my phone was damaged, and I have now been without a properly functioning phone for several days while waiting for it to be fixed. When I called on June 5 to check on the status, I was told the replacement part would arrive and be installed on June 6. However, when I called again today, June 6, I was informed that I would have to wait until Monday because only the manager is able to scan and process incoming packages. What has made this experience even more frustrating is that while I was explaining my concerns over the phone, the employee I spoke with chuckled during the conversation. Whether intentional or not, it came across as dismissive and unprofessional given the situation. I have used this location in the past because it is convenient and I have generally trusted their service. However, this experience has left me questioning that decision. Had I known my phone would be damaged during the repair and that the resolution would take nearly a week, I likely would have chosen another repair provider, even if it cost more. What should have been a relatively quick repair has instead become a lengthy and frustrating process. read more

The gentleman at the counter was nice, however my issue, could not be resolved on location, which was data recovery, which of course is what I saw displayed as a service. I took my Samsung S22+ for new battery. When they tried to install, they cracked the screen! I was told that they would replace the screen when it came in. Several days later, screen is in, but they didn't know how to install it and totally destroyed my phone! I ended up taking it Verizon, which is where I should have gone in the first place. My phone has to be replaced totally and my insurance thru Verizon afforded me an upgrade to boot, all for $99! I will never take anything to uBreakiFix by Asurion again! read more

I walked in for a repair on the old device and I was denied multiple times on different occasions that I couldn't repair the item reason being is the cost of the fix would be damaging their end and they wouldn't be making money. I originally paid 25 for a membership thinking I would be able to get handled accordingly to get my items repaired or at least even look at but to get denied multiple times for two different items is ridiculous. issue is not even that serious like my controller could use a cleaning. Maybe it could fix the stick drift but it's not that old of the controller and That's not how you handle experiences with this company. it's so frustrating. Coming home not having nowhere to get resolved my situation because I was invested by the salesmanship of what needed to be resolved and resolved. It's frustrating because it's like a hamster running on one wheel continuously never ending. I was so invested on having the potential of my old and new devices repaired thoroughly but instead I was denied services and left a bad taste with this company so if you're reading this review, I don't recommend it and the boss that works there. Neither do I him never will. he just seemed flat out lazy and just laughed, This was coming from the store owner so this is very unprofessional. just because I have PS4 controllers doesn't mean it's not worth a try to fix for God sake. I have a PS five, and I know for a fact, if I bring that in, they wouldn't deny me at any cost, they would actually look at the device and give it a day or two to come to the conclusion if it's fixable or not. Point that I'm getting don't waste my time. You invest your time to pitch a 25 membership to new customers and for all that to waste my time and gas going up there to get told nothing can be fixed. uBreakiFix (Pearland, TX) STAY AWAY! They not only REFUSED to FIX the system but they BROKE IT MORE Then REFUSED to refund me! They took my money and gave me false and conflicting information time and time again. This place is a scam run by Clyde, the manager and Kayla, the supposed "Fixer" of ubreakiFIX On last week of January of 2024 I spoke to Jeff about repairing my 2009 Xbox 360 from overheating. We discussed cleaning the dust AND adding thermal paste. He quoted me a price of $50 and I turned it in. Kayla was not there the day I turned it in. I continued to stay in contact with them and continued to speak about the overheating and thermal paste. Kayla the "fixer" kept insisting that the unit was working and did not need the thermal paste. It seemed as though Kayla didn't know how to do it because she kept making excuses as to why it shouldn't be done. Such as she needs an 100$ for her to track down old thermal putty to put in the xbox instead of using modern thermal paste as it will "damage the motherboard." Later Kayla texted me saying they tested a game, it was working. I picked it up on the 2nd of February, I tried using a game that worked well BEFORE but now it DIDN'T work at all. I called back and spoke to Jeff again, saying if Kayla is not willing to use the thermal paste to repair it then I would just like a refund and Jeff said "Yeah sure". They said they would take it and test it again for an hour and then decide what to do, Not five minutes after I brought it back, did Kayla call me saying it's fixed and she wouldn't give me a refund. She then said I never paid to fix it, and I just paid only for a cleaning and her expertise on the system. Clearly she didn't have any expertise if she couldn't even do a thermal pasting. She then suggested I pay more money, well into the 100s, for them to find a newer parts from a newer xbox 360 rip out the parts and stick into my old one. It makes no sense. I can just buy another xbox for less money. She tried to talk me out of getting a new one, saying over and over and over again that I should just to pay her for more NONEXISTENT repairs. When I went to pick it up the next day, Clyde, who claimed to be the manager, was there and was about to get Jeff for us to talk to but decided not to and stated he is backing up Kayla even though the repair wasnt done. He was making excuses as well but refused to let us speak to Jeff. He refused over and over, whiling ignoring what I was saying and just going "yep yep uh huh" and then cut me off twice while trying to rush me out of the store. If I wasn't getting a refund, he was told he would be reported to Better Business Bureau. He uncaringly said "Well that's certainly an option" as if he thought it was a bluff. I have reported this shop to the Better Business Bureau, asked for a refund. They agreed to give me a refund and said this is not how the ubreakifixit stores are meant to operate. Stay away from this shop, Kayla, and Clyde. It should be renamed to "You break,We take your money and break it more" read more

This is a scam. They told me several times that everything electronic in my house would be covered. They took my monthly subscription fee, then refused to repair my phone because phones aren't covered. I PAID them out of pocket to fix my phone. It was worse than before they fixed it & I still had to pay for the repair. I called Assurion & tried to cancel my subscription just to go round and round in ever increasing volume yelling, "I want to cancel my account," while the young lady refused, insisting I take a look at what further services were now available to me. I demanded to speak to her supervisor. She kept talking. After 20 minutes, I hung up. Eventually, my only recourse was to change my bank card number. Avoid these guys at all costs! read more

I just left the Pearland location and both Cesars (that's right. Both gentlemen working today were named Cesar) took great care of me. I accidentally cracked my phone screen and was told to take my phone here via my insurance through my carrier. I waited in line less than 5 minutes. I dropped my phone off with expected wait time to be approximately one hour. I was told that I might have to end up contacting insurance if there was additional damage besides the screen. So I left fingers crossing hoping that wouldn't be the case. I left to run a few errands and when I got back my screen was repaired. And there was no additional damage thank God! Both gentleman were very friendly professional and answered all my questions promptly. They knew what they were doing and my repair is beautiful. I'm glad they were able to fix it so quickly. I went here about 3 days ago because my Mac stopped charging. The day after I picked it up and they told me some information I was extremely shocked about and they couldn't fix it. Upset that I couldn't get my laptop fixed, I took it to the Apple store which they told me some interesting information on what UBREAKIFIX did: 1. They screwed the bottom part of my laptop wrong and the small screws won't come out because it wasn't done properly 2. Computer parts were missing 3. They were not careful when looking around because they scratched the battery and broke a part of a piece of computer part inside 4. They lied about why my laptop was not working I'm extremely upset about this because I had really high hopes for this place. When I went in the first time, the guys at the front were really nice but just the fact of finding out what actually happened with my laptop in the hands of this business is extremely upsetting. read more

I came in for a repair to my 3DS and the first thing of which they ensured I was aware was that such a repair would likely not be cost efficient for me. However, they were still more than ready to do the repair as parts came in. Even though some parts could not be found in the pandemic, they still completed the baseline repair I requested and used some of my old parts to finish the job, with the assurance of future help should I find the parts they couldn't. Don't go here if you are of color. I received horrible service. What really made me upset was I was told to come back in an hour, which I did and was told when I arrived it can take up to 2 hours. Then I was told it would be 15 minutes and I would get a text to my watch. I got the text saying it was ready and after waiting 15 minutes it was not ready. Why tell me it's ready when it's not. I called and was put on hold several times. The last call oh it's ready, we will meet you at the door, after I told them to let me know when they would physically put my phone in my hand. I brought my son iPad here for repair. The only thing that was wrong was the screen was cracked. I received my iPad back and my home button was broken. I was told by the tech that the iPad home button could not be replaced. A few weeks later a line appeared going down the middle of the iPad. I brought it back and the techs are saying this isn't covered under warranty because the iPad screen is damaged. Oh but then I was told the home button could've been fixed it's just the fingerprint wouldn't have worked. It's damaged because they broke the Home Screen button all to begin with. I do not recommend them at all. I will now have to go to apple to get this screen fix correctly. I'm extremely disappointed. read more
